Blind buy -- arrived today. This is a win for me. I cannot do this justice in attempting a review. I will say the saffron is quite noticeable right from the start.That's followed up by a camphor-like, slightly medicinal oud. I promise it is lovelier than I am making it sound. This is quite unlike any other attar/oud fragrance I own. If you crossed a Chypre (Meleg's Civet Cat Chypre) with an amber attar, this is what it would smell like in my mind. I'm really at a loss for words to describe this, but it is most definitely one of those fragrances I cannot stop smelling. So interesting and lovely at the same time. Might not please the crowd in the room, but I really don't care -- I love it!

Eventually I’ll have to get a bottle of this one. This isn’t ambery in the usual spicy vanilla sense. To me it’s more like the discontinued AKAF Istanbul (which was rose and saffron with supporting notes) plus a touch of green and a touch of lovely jasmine. The green touch added in makes it a little reminiscent of soap/detergent smells but it’s sooooo much better than that! When my bottle of my favorite Istanbul runs out I’ll have to definitely get this one.

This perfume oil is discontinued and I would advise to consider Ambre de Fontainebleau, Ambre de Chambord or Ambre de Versailles for a close experience.

Saffron in the opening for sure, followed by a warm spicy sweetness.
