III THRILLER

You'd think there is enough going on in the world right now to be concerned with artificially trashing the ratings of another fragrance on here you've never tried, just because it was part-produced by a YouTube influencer. There is something a bit ugly in the innate need in some people to deny others opportunity based on jealousy or to denigrate what others do because you think they are somehow unworthy. I have to say I quite enjoy Cal Cologne's videos. He isn't hysterical, he has a good nose, he's not showing off, he isn't using clickbait thumbnails or silly captions and I have never had the vibe that he is on anyone's payroll to glaze fragrances for money. He might well be. But he never gave me the vibe that he is. Whether he is or not, I don't really care. I like his videos and I am an adult who is capable of making my own judgements on whether I want to buy a fragrance or not. Influencers glazing a certain fragrance or house doesn't compel me to buy it. I buy what I want, not what the influencers tell me to. So, I saw this fragrance pop up in the Fragrantica reviews. I recognised it from Cal's videos and had a look at the notes. I'm quite into pink pepper and creamy-textured spices in my fragrances of late so I picked it up to try it. It is supposed to be similar to a YSL fragrance I haven't tried so I went into it blind. First reaction is that it comes in a lovely, very well presented box and the bottle is heavy and feels high quality with a nice hefty cap on it. So far so good. Opening blast is - I guess true to his name - a classical cologne-y feel with bergamot with a bit of leather, It isn't screechy or overdone. The leather is underpinning a quite resolute and insistent pink pepper and saffron note. It isn't very unique but it is quite nice. The drydown is where this shines and is, I must say, quite impressive. The citruses in the opening die off very quickly into an amber and incense heart and it changes right in front of you. It is definitely not linear: I enjoy fragrances that move on the skin and this one really does shift. The cardamom comes very much to the fore, reminding me a bit of Outlands, along with the pepper, with the slightly sticky incense and a deep and very rich amber. There are some other spices and a thick, chewy leather here too. I like it. It doesn't smell like anything else I have, and I rate that. I don't get much vanilla but the bottom notes are musky and rich. It has a lot of common DNA with Outlands but goes in a sweeter, lighter and muskier direction that makes it more universally unisex for me. Longevity is 8-9 hours and it dries nicely to a quite sensuous, spicy skin scent of benzoin-sweetened woods and a nice cashmere-y musk, that never truly sits down. It is quite impressively long-lasting. I read the reviews online on this one and wonder what else you want in a fragrance? It has genuine performance, it smells nice throughout several stages of its development, it is genuinely interesting and doesn't feel or smell generic or cliched to my nose, it dries down to a nice skin scent, it is individual, very wearable as quite heavy and powerful spicy fragrances go and it is very nicely presented. And it is US$35! Honestly I am not looking for things to criticise or complain about (because why do people need to do that?) here. Mine only arrived today and I suspect it will be even nicer after a month or two of maturation. It ticks an awful lot of boxes for me and is a much nicer addition to my collection than I was expecting from the reviews. Say what you like about the influencer YouTubers but if Cal Cologne helped develop this one in any real way, then fair play to him. He and Asrar have done a good job. It is very enjoyable and a worthwhile purchase. I don't think it needs to be any more complicated than that. Three Word Summary: Choose For Yourself. I have never been this impressed by a cheap Middle Eastern fragrance. Starting with the bottle, it is so cool. The soft-touch coating on the bottle is a unique touch, and the bottle looks amazing. Not to mention that the cap is a nice heavy metal. Now for the juice. I can believe the claims of 33 lab samples and multiple master perfumers working on this fragrance. With most cheap Middle Eastern fragrances, you can smell when they are made with cheap perfume oil; this is not one of them. This fragrance legitimately has noticeably high-quality fragrance oil, and is surprisingly complex. The initial spray reminds me a lot of The Blazing Mr. Sam, with its citrus and peppery cardamom on top. Pretty quickly, the citrus fades, and a rich leather takes center stage. After about an hour, the leather begins to fade, and a creamy vanilla remains. With the 30% oil concentration, the longevity is no joke. I get a reliable 8 hours, and it hasn't disappeared for nearly 16 hours. It also lasts and projects really well on clothes. Despite what I have been seeing online, this fragrance is not harsh in any way. The fragrance remains really smooth throughout. And while it lasts a long time and projects well, it is not a nuclear fragrance by any means. It is not overpoweringly strong; it just lasts forever. I have never smelled YSL 6, so I cannot speak to its accuracy. However, I can say with certainty that this fragrance is fire. It's so annoying to see people hate on this fragrance just because it's Cal's and/or because it is a "dupe". I hate to break it to you, but this was developed by a perfumer who has likely created some of your favorites, and it's made with perfume oils from the same companies. Well done Cal, its a banger

Consiglio d'uso Date le sue caratteristiche calde, ambrate e speziate, è una fragranza perfetta per la stagione autunno/inverno e dà il meglio di sé nelle occasioni notturne, formali o serate in buona compagnia. Giudizio Finale: Un acquisto totalmente azzeccato. Al costo di circa un decimo rispetto al listino del brand a cui si ispira, offre una qualità costruttiva impressionante, un'evoluzione complessa e performance tecniche superiori all'originale. After 3 weeks of maceration, this has developed into a creamy, powdery vanilla, roasted coconut scent with a punchy pepper note that gets less synthetic and upfront as the juice macerates. Everyday I'm liking it more and more, layering it with Teriaq intense or bujairami hectic got a lot of people turning around as I pass them by. It's a unique niche scent. In my opinion, it has enough depth on its own. But this has to be layered with something for it to smell complete. Hard to say if it's blind buy safe, but it kinda reminds me of a blend of a smoky Odyssey Homme and a very light hint of Lattafa Liam, with a blast of pepper. Right now, it's my favourite of the month to wear this winter. It doesn't project a lot, but it lasts the whole day and I can even smell it on myself while wearing it. That's probably cz the juice is so heavy(40% oil) that it won't project far unless your body heats it up. But at least it lasts a heck of a lot even on skin. 8hrs+ on skin and maybe 2 days on clothes! I'd say this is fairly unisex, more masculine leaning. But for the women who can pull this off, that's a crazy sexy scent profile for a woman to wear! If future batches are reformulated to be smoother and less punchy with the pepper note, that would be a huge hit by this Collab. Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 9.5/10 Value:10/10

First up, the atomizer is TRASH... Jesus Cal, spend a few extra cents and put a decent atomizer on the damn thing... WTF? When I first got this, it wasn't all that great, and smelled a bit like a chemical mess. Perhaps this is because they are new and freshly mixed? But, after a few weeks of maceration this thing opens up and becomes very nice. The bergamot is a bit more pronounced in Thiller III vs. the OG, but that fades away in the first 5mins. This then becomes very linear to the OG, and I would put this at about 90% similar to the OG. The performance is without a doubt better than the OG, and I'm hoping it continues to get better the longer it sits. I would say that if you're thinking about dropping $380 on the OG, and money is not an issue for you... go for it. But, if you're on a budget, and want to smell like the OG, I would without a doubt drop the $40 on this and call it good. I am thinking about selling my OG bottle because I could use the money, but this makes owning the OG sort of redundant. I would also say that the performance on the OG is fricking TRASH... and makes this a better pickup when you start factoring that in. The OG is without a doubt smoother because of better mixing and oils and raw ingredients, but it doesn't justify the price point for the crap performance. 8 out of 10.

Please listen to me when I say this. If you ordered this fragrance online, let it sit and GIVE IT A CHANCE. I'm only 17 but ive been growing up around my dad that has niche collections and my mom works at a fragrance store so I know my stuff 😂 I LOVE ysl 6, so I had extremely high hopes for this when I first ordered it. First spray was disgusting. Black pepper bomb with hints of leather, and it smelt very low quality and almost nothing like ysl 6, but the dry down was a smooth spicy vanilla with leather so I wasnt complaining too hard. I let this sit for a while and came back to it, now its in my top 10 out of the 200+ fragrances i own. Super close to ysl 6 and lasts almost 10 hours. Projection isnt as much as people are saying, but I think an arms length projection is better than a room filler. You can smell a bunch of warm spices, leather, insense and resins, smoothed out by florals and a creamy vanilla and tonka. My girlfriend, friends, and family love this scent on me. Its one of my signatures behind Grand Soir and Zoologist Bee. THIS SMELS SO ELEGANT AND EXPENSIVE. It shocks me. Good job Maison Asrar. (PS: if you layer this with a vanilla heavy fragrance like liquid brun, grand soir, or swy intensely, its even better.)

Really amazing. I wore this with a leather jacket, v neck tight around my biceps, trousers, rolex oyster and Christian loubutin dress shoes. That’s the fit I feel like fits this the best all black . Off the rip the shine that it gives on the skin tells u all u need to know. So much fragrance oils and the concentration what I love most is how it develops. 15 mins after you spray it it transforms from a slight citrus and keep in mind, this is not a designer type citrus note it’s a niche type citrus note. It then transforms into this vanilla, slightly nutty, leathery tasty goodness seven sprays or even less are enough. I blind bought this, and I actually do think it is a safe line by. I don’t think people who say it isn’t know what real fragrance is. It is safe due to the fact that anybody would love to smell this on you. It is too good to hate. cal did really good with this one. Anyone who says this is too masculine is properly a 140 pound twink who wears kamrah. Grow into the masculine side of fragrances and this is a great starter for a first 10/10

I received Thriller yesterday, batch 10877-936, produced Dec. 15, 2025. The initial sprays were black pepper spicy! Throughout the day it became more creamy and woody and just good. I put a couple sprays one on each collarbone area and was still getting whiffs 10+ hours later. The atomizer puts out a lot so it’s probably equivalent to 2-3 sprays of a standard sprayer. What kept bugging me all day is why it smelled so familiar, then it struck me! Zirh Corduroy! I had experience with it when it came out in 2005, one of my first frags, and enjoyed the scent profile. I think it’s the creamy sandalwood and spice that’s jogging that memory. Makes me want to go buy the Zirh just to see how they compare. Then this morning I got a whiff 3 feet away on a jacket I had worn at the end of the day so 12+ hours ago. I smelled it over the scent I have on and that was a rub off on the jacket not a direct spray. So this thing is lasting and projecting and for me, nostalgic. If you like the scent profile this thing will stay in your collection.

Total blind buy but I’ve followed Cal for a long time and trust his integrity and honesty. I got this as an early batch but it didn’t seem to need any maturing, although it has got richer and smoother in the short time I’ve owned it. It is very well put together in my opinion and from first application to the dry down it does follow its scent profile in the order listed. The dry down is where the real magic happens you are left with a beautiful melange of sandalwood slightly sweet creamy vanilla and musk. This fragrance isn’t shouty or cloying, nuclear or beast mode it just does what it does, my only criticism is the name, to me the word ‘Thriller’ reminds me of the old MJ video. The bottle and packaging are very high quality putting some high end designer and dare I say so called niche brands to shame. Overall for me it’s a blind buy win, but sample it first and wait for the dry down and you’ll probably be straight to Maison Asrars website ordering it. It’s also excellent value.

The smell is masculine for me, maybe some people say it can be worn by women is because of the hint of vanilla on it but for me its for men. I love the bottle and for its price its a very good deal. When you sprayed it, it would smell something very familiar but also something quite new. Maybe because of the leather smell on it but overall its fantastic. I love the products of Maison Asrar because they are very affordable yet doesnt smell cheap at all. I don't get where the hate is coming from, maybe they got paid by competitors to say this? I don't know, I just don't understand how much hate could you possibly have for an affordable perfumes. its not like the products are $300 and it turns out the product is bad, that hate i could understand but under $60? even perfumes under $60 that are bad I couldn't say very bad things about those perfumes but with these haters i don't know where the hate is coming from even if the product is bad as they say (which isnt).

Don't judge this fragrance by the opening, it is missleading. It opens up very pungent incense, but after 15-20minutes it get's smoother and very close to the OG. Performance wise I don't have a verdict yet, since I barely got the bottle, but as with all middle eastern fragrances it might improve. For now i did get easy 6hrs with projection for the first hour then it goes closer to the skin. Drydown i would say it's almost identical to YSL 6. I get that this got hyped then many people started hating on it, but the honest truth is that if you really like that manly, slightly darker, incense scents this will work for you. I would say in some aspects reminds me of Incense 01 from Swiss Arabian. If you are under 25 and/or you like JPG ultra male or Lattafa Khamrah type of scents, this might not be for you and I would recommend sampling either this or the OG first. For me this is a good addition to my collection, and i expect to wear it on some formal occasions.

First and foremost I have never smelt no. 6 and bought this completely due to hype. I can say for sure this lives up to a majority of the hype. Bottle is of decent quality for the price, looks sleek and is heavy with a heavy cap. Atomizer is also good for the price point. Now on first spray I initially didnt like it too much because I found it too incensey and too leathery. However, after about 30 minutes to 2 hours after you spray it the fragrance transitions into a beautiful creamy and ambery sandalwood vanilla with that backing of incense and spices. This fragrance lasts FOREVER. I sprayed this stuff on at 12pm and could smell it the next morning I woke up at 10am. If I had to guess id say it projects anywhere from 10 to 12 hours and then its a skin scent for a couple more hours after that. For 45 dollars this is definitely a steal.

This is definitely for the mature crowd (I’m 34 so it’s great on me lol) and the real beauty is in the DRY DOWN! I like the opening but oh boy the dry down is where it really shines. It’s very niche like and probably one of the more niche smelling dupes in my collection. 9.5/10 for sure! I had to get my nose on YSL 6 to compare so I borrowed my father in law’s bottle for a few days and this is for sure within 97%! This is such a unique fragrance and personally I enjoy not smelling like every one else and Cal smacked it! The longevity is INSANE! I put it on around 2p and had an amazing night. Went to sleep around 11p and when I woke up at 6a it was still thumping as a skin scent! I could smell it on me still and the dry down was still getting better LOL! What an amazing fragrance.

UPDATE. I last tested my bottle on 03/15. It's now 03/25 and it's starting to pop. This bottle just keeps getting better and better. Now for a visual I also have Amouage Outlands and I wear that stuff every damn day. Recently I stopped grabbing it and for the past 3 days rocking Thriller. Today got my first compliment. The projection and sillage gets better every day. Gonna pack it up for a few more weeks and test again. I can see this thing getting nuclear. Heading to Joma to get another bottle to start the maceration for when this bottle runs out. Scent after a month and a half has smoothed out. Such a seductive Leather Vanilla. I can only say all the negative comments are here because they didn't allow the fragrance to mature. This product was basically just made.

My honest take from a guy who just wants to smell good. Never smelled 6 so this is a stand alone review. Overall i definitely enjoy this one. Definitely has the sweeter vanilla and sandalwood scent initially but dries down to a good leather scent. I’m not saying it smells exactly like Ombré Leather Parfum, but it does have a similar vibe with more vanilla rather than florals once it dries down. For me, this lasted on my skin all day...don’t know why some people are having longevity issues. Projects well for a good 4 hours I’d say. If you want to add a dark scent to your collection, honestly I think it’s worth the $50. It will not blow your socks off, there are definitely better albeit more expensive options. But if you’re on a budget I’d say give it a shot

Here to right an honest review, not hating or glazing just cuz its from an influencer. I have not smelled YSL 6. The opening of this is just basic peppery lemony with a touch of incense. after 1-2 minutes the incense and leather both makes its way to the front while the lemon goes away. For around 35-45 minutes a really nicely blended ambery incense leather. Very masculine, rich, sophisticated, dark, black fit. After 45 minute it gets even better, the incense and leather become smoother and creamier as the sandalwood and vanilla kick in. From this point on its a creamy ambery vanilla leather and incense. Such a dark mysterious rich scent profile absolutely amazing. This is niche quality for $45. This is not blind buy safe of course.

Alright I got it. Did a whole day test at work and here is my summary: If you like complex, earthy and warm fragrances, then this is your cup of tea. From the top, you will get the sandalwood, pepper and some incense (if a luxurious fireplace had a smell, this would be it). As it dries down, you will get some of the middle notes playing around to a point that some would describe it as coconutty (like a creamy semi-tropical whiff). At the skin scent stage, you will have sandalwood, vanilla, cashmeran and a little bit of musk becoming just a richly cozy smell with a hint of spice that is simply perfect. (Some dislikes mentioned a rubbery smell, but THAT is the bottle, the fragrance itself is free of it)

Anyone calling this weak is suspicious to me because there is legitimately nothing weak about this. I've had YSL 6 and this is definitely a very, very close 1 to 1 but seriously smoother and an easier wear overall. This is a creamy, leathery, and mildly peppery sandalwood forward fragrance. Exceptionally sexy and smooth to my nose. Absolutely gives off a distinguished gentleman vibes (though I also feel it is versatile enough to be unisex). This also lasts significantly longer on skin than YSL 6 and maintains it's sillage throughout 90% of the wear. Y'all really gotta stop hating on something solely because an "influencer" and a "dupe brand" released something. Good is Good...PERIOD!

smells very addicting to me, get like a smooth & spicy sandalwood ambery vanilla smell that im really enjoying, nothing sticks out just blended well and linear in scent. as a collector of niche a dupes, i can confidently say this is high quality to my nose at least. recently picked up some argos frags, musk therapy, a couple mfk frags & im reaching for this more which says alot. i would also wear this any season except hot summer days, definitely more night time vibes. performance is on the better side too, i have no complaints. dont listen to the glaze it wont blow u away nor is it a panty dropper, on the other hand ignore the haters because this is not “trash”.

It's actually a beautiful blend! Opens with a spicy citrus, and as it settles starts to get resinous and sweet, but not overly so. As it dries, the citrus winds down and the resinous mildly sweet base with a bit of suede leather comes forward and mingles with the spices. Definitely a masculine and more grown up scent. Good for daily wear really, perhaps excluding very hot weather. It's one of those three season wears, which is ideal versatility. Projection likely isn't strong given the high oil content, but longevity should be good. I haven't given it a full wear but I would guess around 7+hours of longevity. As Cal said: he smacked it!
