Cuir InfraRouge

To me it wears as a more refined, softer, and easier to like/wear rendition of Oud Maracuja's DNA, I wouldn't go as far as to say they're the same just with a different fruit note, but they do smell relatively similar, and you can easily tell they're related/Crivelli fragrances. If I were to say which one I personally like better I'd say I prefer Cuir InfraRouge, Oud Maracuja projects way more on my skin than on paper and on other people, which is a shame since my preferred sillage is medium or light-medium, on top of that I personally prefer InfraRouge's scent over Maracuja's as well. that being said, this on my skin opens up with a slightly bitter yet sweet raspberry and an understated cinnamon spiced leather that's reminiscent of a less pungent Tuscan Leather, for around the first 20-30 seconds, but then it quickly morphs into a sweet and smooth yet slightly subtle raspberry, that accentuates a very muted Oud, as well the namesake Leather (Cuir), which becomes the main player of the fragrance that all the other notes build on. I do also get some Vanilla, Orris, and that cinnamon from the opening, but they're behind the leather, oud, and raspberry, mainly being there to sweeten the drydown and enhance the leather+raspberry combo. I quite like this scent profile and it's a close contender with Oud Stallion (Though I personally prefer drhis due to wearability and ease of access/general preference) for my favourite of Maison Crivelli's Leather/Oud centric fragrances. As I hinted at before, projection on this on my skin is between medium and strong, longevity I get around 12-14 hours (with just 1-2 sprays as well), which is the oustanding norm for Crivelli's creations of this type, and it'd likely go onto the next day if applied more. In terms of werability, it's perfect for any day outside of hot or humid days, unisex leaning a little masculine imo, and considering this is easier to wear and enjoy, I think you could get away with it as a daily driver or casual wearing fragrance that you went easy on the trigger, and it'd be a good formal occasion scent as well. Overall, really glad I finally got try it (as it wasn't available in Australia where I'm located until this week), but was well worth the wait, and probably the MC fragrance I'm most likely to get a full bottle of, really good stuff, the scent to me is just soa addicting and i cant jelp but smile whenever i get wafts of it after applying in the morning or still smelling it's sweet remnants just before bed. I recommend it if you want a less intense, less monstrous projecting, and overall a softer more wearable alternative to Maracuja, or (or if you just really like the notes/DNA lmao) Personal 9.1/10

I have a bit of a love affair with leather based fragrances and I think Cuir Infrarouge is one of the best examples. It has everything you want. A gorgeous, deep and rich leather accord, performance that is off the charts and enough going on in the background to keep it interesting. The opening is, as with Hibiscus Mahajad, Tubereuse Astral and the wonderful Oud Maracuja, a really intense hit that almost seems aggressive. The first thing you get is slightly sour, plump raspberry and a very heavy saddle leather. There is some cinnamon in there in the top if you really go looking for it but this is to move the leather away from the barnyard, and there is some subtle bergamot tucked away there too but again, this is to keep the raspberry honest. The heart is aimed at moving the opening into softer and more manageable territory and it does this with a little bit of osmanthus that provides a fresh bridge between the fruit and the leather in a very clever way. The orris again, is here to stop this from going too sour and it never really takes this in a powdery direction to my nose. The patchouli and vanilla in the base are there to soften and smooth; to manage the leather and the fruit and to ensure the oud in the heart doesn't push this too sour or animalic either. It is almost like a conceptual study in how ridiculously strong you can make a leather accord and still keep it under control. The oud in the base almost feels like a flex, as if Jordi Fernandez spends most of the rest of fragrance reining in the leather and the berries, and then jokingly adds some oud just to highlight how well he's done it. If you've ever got your nose on this one you will know how strong it is. The control and assurance here to keep it all tidy and managed in such a wearable and attractive way is out of this world. This should be an unwearable, noxious mess. That it is wearable at all is testament to the skill that has gone into this. Magnificent stuff. Cuir Infrarouge is a really interesting scent. It's a bit of an anachronism in a way. Stylistically it sits along side Tom Ford Tuscan Leather and that generation of leathers released in the late 2000s. The backstory behind Cuir Infrarouge is supposedly inspired by the house founders experiences sipping cocktails in nightclubs. Upon first sniff one is treated to a delicious raspberry note. The raspberry in this is quite candied and sweet. It comes across a bit like a raspberry liquor with a hint of spice from cinnamon. The Tuscan leather vibe is strong at this point, but after a few minutes it really starts to differentiate itself. The leather note arrives. Its a big, thick and oily leather. Its not smoky like Tuscan Leather. Instead it seems more like the smoother leather from Ombré Leather backed by the raspberry from the opening. By the late dry down the oud is present. It's a polite westernized oud, and serves to add heft and substance to the composition. It never feels like it's the focal point, instead it adds a pleasant depth in the background. I am very positively impressed by this. It feels like a more modern take on the Tuscan Leather style. It retains the playful badboy sexiness of Tuscan Leather, whilst adding a bit of modern playful lightness and is ultimately much easier to wear and can fit many occasions. Rating: 10/10

First time writing a follow up review to something I have already wrote a review for but I just have to preach about this even more. Using my sample so scarcely (a couple sprays every few months), it is among the 1 of only 2 fragrances (the other being Bvlgari Tygar) that I truly think I need in my collection. This is the only fragrance that is genuinely eternal on my skin. It has now been 30 hours since I have applied this on my skin, on the inside of my left elbow and I still smell it. It has somehow roped its way onto my t shirt and sticking to the left sleeve of it too. All of this, plus I still smell it moderately strong in my chair by my desk where I spent the better part of my day yesterday. I don’t think I need to explain the the experience of this again but I’ll give the gist. It is wrapping leather, with a nice touch of oud. Juicy, fruity, opulent raspberry and hint of bergamot that draws you into it the realms and depths of it. I also get quite a lot of iris in this, and with it being my favourite note, it just adds so much to this. There’s something flashy/electric about this and I can’t put my finger on it but assume to be the entire concoction. My perfect nighttime fragrance.

Another really great offering from this house. I think between Oud Maracuja and Tubereuse Astrale, the two fragrances I have from them this is my favorite to wear. Its thick, but not too thick for a warmer day. And although many will say this is something to wear for an evening out I think its bright enough in profile to wear in the day. This is due to the Raspberry note up top. The Bergamot assists in some sweet citrus facets but its hardly noticable to my nose. The leather accord is apparent throughout; only until the very end does it disappear and what remains is Oud. It eventually falls away with the Oud sitting on skin. You wouldnt even know this started as Cuir InfraRouge. The Orris and Osmanthus mixed with the Leather in the middle of the wear provide for an almost Chocoloate-y almost Lactonic smoothness. Hate to say it but Jordi Fernandez is much better at Maison Crivelli than at Ex Nihilo; everything there feels the same. This would be a repeat purchase.

I’ve waited so long for this to come out on fragrantica so I can finally write a review. Oh Maison Crivelli Cuir Infrarouge. I don’t know what I’d do if I hadn’t smelt it when I did, now knowing that it’s my among my top 3 favourite scents of all time. Opens with smooth sweet raspberry and cinnamon that dives into rich leather with sweet oud and vanilla in the base yet the raspberry and cinnamon stay relevant throughout the entire fragrance. Not to mention its insanely strong projection and longevity. A true masterpiece. Super addictive qualities and perfect for nighttime use and evenings. Truly love this. Never knew I was a fan of leather and thought I severely disliked the note until I tried Dior Homme Parfum, African Leather and now Cuir Infrarouge. Turns out that I just wasn’t a fan of Ombré Leather but my taste has changed and now I also enjoy it.

I'm getting a bit bored of when any scent has raspberry and leather in it and people just immediately say it's another Tuscan Leather rip off. Smells almost nothing like it to be quite honest, this goes in another direction entirely in the dry down. This is a much brighter and smoother fragrance than Tuscan Leather, think of a more brighter version of the Oud Maracuja DNA with it being made ultra smooth and radiant whilst still maintaining it's depth. The raspberry and cinnamon give the fragrance it's radiance, which does fade in the dry down bit and then it goes into a very creamy and addictive leather/vanilla/orris scent. Honestly my favourite fragrance I've smelt in a long time.

Maison Crivelli's Cuir Infrarouge perfumed by Jordi Fernández is a fruity-Leather and Oud fragrance. The fragrance is supported by many other complimenting high quality natural ingredients from the Givaudan Perfumer house. The fragrance starts with a stunning raspberry note with the oud and leather accords present from the opening. This definitely has Jordi's signature style as the fragrance is blended masterfully. I see some similarities between Cuir Infrarouge and Sequence by Amouage. All in all, Cuir Infrarouge is an amazing fragrance, well done Thibaud Crivelli and Jordi Fernández!

It smells like a burned raspberry yoghurt at the opening. After that it becomes something different which I don't like. But the smell is with you in every hour of the day and let me tell you something: The opening or dry down or both, people love one of these options at least. I've never met with someone that completely hates this scent. Is it worth the money? I guess, yes. Cuz for me it is the greatest raspberry leather scent ever made. Forever wanted elixir and carnal desire have some issues but this one is flawless for me, if the dry down could be a little bit different.

Cuir InfraRouge is another refined creation from Maison Crivelli. It opens with a sweet, aromatic accord reminiscent of Oud Maracuja, though noticeably lighter and more airy. The sillage and longevity are more moderate than Maracuja’s, with the fragrance beginning to fade after about 9–10 hours. In terms of character, it leans more unisex-to-feminine compared to both Maracuja and Stallion. It also lends itself well to layering, allowing for interesting new combinations. While I enjoy it, it doesn’t captivate me quite as much as Maracuja or Stallion.

To anyone saying this is like Tuscan Leather, stop! Fun story during my summer trip to London, I was at the Maison Cavelli boutique in Selfridges testing some fragrances when a super friendly salesman sprayed this on me and simply said, ‘Try this and Go!’ Two days later, I came back and bought it. Shout-out to that guy! It’s exclusive to Selfridges btw, so most people here probably haven’t even seen the bottle never mind smelled it!! Already planning to grab another this November 😇 10/10

Initial spray, faint smell of raspberry and something stinky. Then, on my skin, straight urine and feces. Why am I writing about this then? because I have never been more impressed by a dry down of a fragrance in my entire life. It’s supplely goes from fruity to creamy to a soft leather. This is literally master perfumery. Full bottle worthy (if you can get past 45 minutes of B.S.)

This one is a winner! Beast mode and smells great from a distance. For those who like loud perfumes like Arabians Tonka etc will enjoy wearing this. The leather tone remains close to skin and provides the base in sillage, while the fruity elements project and smoothen things. Very well blended and probably the best from the lineup of oud fragrances from this house. Shukran Habibi!

Completely agree with the sentiments below. Tuscan Leather is a lazy comparison. This one hits different and is such a beauty. The osmanthus and orris really shine early on, keeping it much brighter. I really can't choose between this or Oud Cadenza as my next FB purchase after the stunning Oud Stallion. Probably my favourite house right now.

It's nice, smooth leather with a creamy facet. I wish the spice and fruit elements were a bit ramped up. Luxurious fragrance but I would take Ombre Leather for a third the cost though to be honest. If I were going more elevated, maybe Halfeti Leather. But if you blind bought this, you wouldn't be upset. It just isn't quite worth the msrp.

I see how this one is similar to Boadicea’s Oud Sapphire. However, this one smells noticeably more synthetic, and judging by the price difference I would strongly recommend oud sapphire instead, it is much more rounded and refined. Infrarouge became annoying after a few minutes, even with very similar notes.

I don't often get surprised, but this stuff is incredible. The perfumer did a fantastic job here. Its so smooth and complex. I love the MC signature accord, however it may be redundant if you have Oud Marakuja or Oud Stallion. To my nose, they are about 60% similar as they are all based on this accord.

Such a beautifully balanced sweet leather, raspberry, and vanilla but not at all overpowering to the nose. Its a more feminine Oud Maracuja but I don’t find it to be as potent or long lasting. After trying ALL maison crivellis, I’m only going to purchase this alongside Maracuja.

Smells amazing! But the similarities between Oud Cadenza, Stallion, Maracuja and this.. it's just too obvious. Yes, they're all amazing, but to have all of them is quite redundant for me. Unless you are a collector or hardcore Crivelli's fan.

Absolute banger. Performance is insane with this one. Raspberry, leather and oud go amazing together. What's nice is the fruit notes don't get drowned out by the Leather and Oud, it's very well balanced. Definitely worth the money.

it is 90% oud maracuja with raspberry instead of passionfruit, just a bit more sweet and thats it. Idk what was the need for putting out this perfume and how will it sell cuz its basically a maracuja 2. Overall 8,5/10

This perfume smells amazing! The DNA of this fragrance is similar to Oud Maracuja, but i prefer this one over OM. I love Cuir Infrarouge and i like OM. The performance is great like all Maison Crivelli extraits.

After this macerates the silage becomes MUCH stronger. The raspberry note also blends better into to the smoke and leather. 8/10 - limited to cold weather and night wear

Another masterpiece from Crivelli

Oud Maracujá with training wheels. Cuir Infrarouge is Maison Crivelli's take on the raspberry-leather DNA popularized by Tuscan Leather, but instead of heading in the Tom Ford's direction they instead looked inward at their own Oud Maracujá, creating a fragrance that's undoubtedly similar but also easier to wear. The opening is lead by a bright and jammy raspberry, with a tangy edge that makes it similar to Oud Maracujá's "passionfruit" note (which has always smelled like a more acidic, nondescript berry than actual passionfruit to me). To my nose the raspberry is the focus of the entire opening, but very surprisingly my mom said I smelled "barnyardy", which really surprises me as I barely get any oud in here and the leather comes in until later. After about an hour to an hour and a half the leather starts to show itself, slightly smokey but smooth, almost afraid of taking the raspberry's limelight. To be fair I think my nose simply doesn't like picking up leather unless it's the petrol-ey yet almost floral type like the one found in Cuoium and Ombré Leather, or the rubbery type like the one in Eau d'Ombré Leather. Personally I find this smokey leather far more noticeable on Oud Maracujá, Cuir Infrarouge never really hit me with much leather but it's probably just my nose. The deep dry down (7 hours in) develops a distinct vanilla note up close on my skin, blended with remnants of the leather and the raspberry's tanginess. Compared to Oud Maracujá this is so much easier to wear and generally to wrap your head around as well, I stand by my opinion that those who dislike Oud Maracujá must try this as I'm almost certain they will like this instead. Oud Maracujá is an extremely loud fragrance, slapping you in the face with a half-Westernized "oud", a strong smokey leather and a jammy concoction of rose and "passionfruit", Cuir Infrarouge instead politely enters the conversation with its raspberry with leather undertones. This difference in character also translates to performance, although Cuir Infrarouge still performs extremely well. Projection is strong, being a scent that'll start off going several feet in front of you and almost filling up a room, it's thanks to this my mom told me I smelled "barnyardy". Sillage is dense but not thick enough to choke yourself or others out or be bothersome, just enough to constantly remind you of your choice of fragrance. Longevity is an effortless 8 hours. (UPDATE: There's still faint traces of the scent on my arms now, the next day). Compared to Oud Maracujá this is kind of weak, however, as that fills up rooms with ease, fills up your lungs every time you breathe for at least 6 hours, lasts well into the next day on your skin and lasts weeks on clothes. Even the difference in the number of sprays is insane, I wore my usual 8 (sample) sprays with this, whereas with Oud Maracujá I have enough with just 2 sprays, and the time I wore 4 for my birthday last year I was feeling like it was too much.

If, like me, you’re familiar with JF’s other work with Crivelli but haven’t yet tried Cuir Infrarouge, I can confirm that it’s on par with Oud Cadenza in terms of how polarising it is ... or rather, how unpolarising it is compared with some of the other JF releases for Crivelli. Cuir Infrarouge won’t suit those who are unaccustomed to, or unappreciative of, oud, but it’s still easier to like and appreciate than Oud Maracuja or Stallion. It opens with a soft, almost powdery raspberry that becomes less pronounced as the oud and leather settle in and take centre stage. The blending is very well done with many of the other listed notes seemingly contributing mainly to softness, balance and cohesion of the raspberry, oud, and leather. Personally, Oud Cadenza remains my favourite oud offering from JF for Crivelli, but Cuir Infrarouge seems to be a close second. I’ll have to wear it a few more times before I make any final decision.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t paid much attention to Maison Crivelli; I was disappointed by Oud Maracuja after all the hype that it just put me off exploring more. Cuir Infrarouge is a rather lovely raspberry leather scent however, which is bold of me to say considering I’m usually repulsed by raspberry notes. The raspberry here is notably sweet, juicy and crimson, as though they were crushed beneath the weight of a rugged suede boot. I suppose there is some inspiration from Tuscan Leather, but thankfully it seems to be politely balanced by cinnamon and a smooth, creamy finish of vanilla and orris. Despite being rather strong and diffusive, I find it’s rather restrained and sophisticated as far as raspberry-leathers go. I don’t love it enough to buy a bottle, but I’m pleasantly surprised with how much I like this more than I was expecting to.

Cuir InfraRouge might be my favourite Maison Crivelli fragrance with oud — and that doesn’t really surprise me. I usually enjoy raspberry, oud, and leather combinations, and this one brings those together in a way that’s really well-balanced. The raspberry adds just the right amount of sweetness, mixing nicely with the leather, oud, spices, and a bit of vanilla. It almost gives off this cocktail-like vibe, which I find super pleasant. The only reason I haven’t picked up a full bottle yet is because someone once told me I smelled a bit like a bonfire in the drydown. And honestly, they weren’t wrong — it does get pretty smoky later on. Still, it’s a great scent overall, and definitely worth trying if you're into that kind of dark, fruity leather fragrance.

If you've never smelled oud maracuja let me paint a picture. Crivelli has a very specific fragrance signature, they are on the heavier side, and usually very potent. Cuir is no different, leading with a soft leather, almost suede note as it mixes with the orris, sweetened by raspberry, while having that strong oud base that gives it that Crivelli kick. There's a lot you can try to pick apart with this frag if you want, but you can also just enjoy the notes that come to you, and get engulfed in a sexy oudy evening. Personally I still prefer maracuja, just because I adore the sweet yet piercingly sour maracuja note, but I find myself reaching for this when I want something less heavy and oud forward.

I tried this and for me its the same character like oud maracuja and oud stallion, BUT the sillage is a fraction of it with still great longetivity. The opening a bit different but again,goes to maison crivelli type of oud. I recommend use oud maracuja, put it into a much finer waporizer/atomizer per bottle, and use a fraction of the single spray of the original bottle. You will get this one, but with much better price / usage. Cheers!

I got HUGE leather and raspberry on a single spray from a sample. I thought I'd hate this since I am not a fan of osmanthus or orris, but the open is fresh and appealing and the drydown is mostly worn, lightly spiced leather. I tried it the day I went to DXL to buy a suit, and the salesperson asked what scent I was wearing after he measured me for a shirt.
