Tubéreuse Astrale

The Shamen once famously sang "But go easy on old Eezer; he's a love you can lose." I think this is true of Tubereuse Astrale by Crivelli. It is my third favourite of this luminary, wonderful house of perfumery behind the unmissable Oud Maracuja and former-Selfridges exclusive Cuir Infrarouge. It is stronger than both these fragrances and is - somehow - much more intense in the opening blast which is pure osmanthus and tubereuse. Bearing in mind neither of the other two are anything less than absolutely epic in the opening, this is quite the statement. But Tubereuse Astrale is, like Ebeneezer Goode - a drug you need to treat with respect and moderation. Going after it like a blue freshie with six or seven sprays just before you leave the house will likely get you the sort of attention you don't want, instead of the rapturous compliments you should be getting in wearing any Quentin Bisch fragrance, or anything from Maison Crivelli. One on the neck, one on the chest and a little one on the wrists if you're feeling hardcore is more than enough. This is something to be patient with as the drydown takes a long time, much like what the Shamen were referencing. The oil content of this is heavy and leaves a bit of a sheen on the skin which tells you all you need to know on the performance and sillage. This is a projection beast. You are filling rooms after leaving them. The good news is the drydown is much more subtle and the cinnamon, musk and vanilla are brimming with class and sophistication. Once the screechiness of the osmanthus dies down it is the sort of gorgeous concoction that closes your eyes, curls your toes and makes your heart beat a little faster. It is absolutely beautiful, and like most of Crivelli's fragrances, is unusually wearable and accessible for such strong and hard-projecting fragrances. You can wear this with casual clothes, right up to a dinner jacket and black tie and everywhere in between. I think the drydown is pretty enough to make this is a genuine unisex fragrance too. Not for the first time this year since Ive gotten into proper niche perfumes, Ive learned that less is more in some cases and that Tubereuse Astrale is one of those times when you need to respect the juice, and take it easy. A Flemish legend has it that the Gruwenhald, a half-human, half-elven creature, roams the countryside during the first full moon night after the summer solstice to gather the right flowers and herbs to create his magical narcotizing potion, capable of enrapturing anyone, so that he can kidnap them and lead them to his abode, where they will remain forever as slaves. The recipe for the magical perfume apparently includes unconventional ingredients, such as fairy wings and unicorn blood. Well, after selling his soul to Beelzebub to obtain the details of that recipe, it appears that the chief alchemist of House Crivelli was then forced to spread evil on Earth through a series of other nefarious and heinous creations, such as Oud Stallion and Iris Malikhan. Some scholars at the University of Massachusetts have recently measured the KENergetic levels of Tubereuse Astrale, finding values that are completely off the scale and unprecedented; its plastic whiff may in fact be an indication of the presence of parts of poor KEN itself, but this has not yet been confirmed; an autopsy is awaited. An empirical test of mine on cardboard showed this to be the absolute and by far the best performing and longest lasting extract from Maison Crivelli. Test that anyone can replicate, try it to believe. The scent itself is complex, floral, assertive almost to the point of being stunning, where the tuberose is made sublime, accompanied by a symphony of notes that makes it incomparable. Off-scale projection, infinite duration. Unfortunately, it caused me a very uncomfortable skin reaction, especially on my neck so, despite trying several times, I have not yet been able to wear it for more than a few minutes, I will try again in milder temperatures or in the next life, when I have a bulletproof body. Try it on and hope you don't like it, or the Gruwenhald will capture you.

Really thick jammy floral with a jelly-like texture to it, reminds me of those jelly cup candies I had as a kid. Sweet, somewhat sugary, heavily synthetic (which M. Crivelli leans into in most of their fragrances) but the synthetic-ness is what intrigues me and makes it such a strong and thick scent. Even calling it nuclear isn't enough. As the name "Astrale" implies, it's straight-up Supernova levels of projection, all the while being really pleasant and not screechy or too invasive in a way. An earlier review by Rylai had a description I perfectly agree with: The tuberose is androgynous. When talking about just the tuberose aspect, not the fragrance as a whole, it's more fitting than calling it unisex because, as the word is defined, it "combines aspects of both male and female but isn't really identifiable as either one". The tuberose has a somewhat leathery texture to it, and it feels more of an "off-white" rather than the usual dainty faint bright white that I'm used to. Because of this it has a more general feminine nature to it but the texture of it reels it in a little to the masculine side. Now, overall the scent does lean more feminine but I love it greatly and as a guy I want to say I can still comfortably pull it off. Because of the performance, this is one of the few very high-end niche fragrances I would pay retail for the full bottle, which I am considering very soon, especially since atm none of the extraits from this house are at discounters.

I am writing this review at 9 o'clock in the morning. This may have been a mistake after reading the description of this fragrance. I should have known simply by the title. Tuberose almost always blossoms in the night, and of course astral, the stars in the night sky. Tuberose is such a beautiful flower when it is executed correctly. And it has been done so here. I love the cinnamon incorporated in the top notes. Just a small dusting. Every time I smell it, it feels so intoxicating. Better than any vanilla can be in my opinion. There is sweetness here, but there's so much more. That's why I say the tuberose has been executed so well. It almost acts like a complex bouquet of vanilla. Don't get me wrong, I love all different types of vanilla, but this particular fragrance does something to me. It's a different type of sexy. Almost carnal. Something QUENTIN has a talent for. Out of all the perfumers out there, he is currently my favorite. This specific talent of his cannot be matched by anyone else. It is funny how different notes become your favorite at different times. I never used to like tuberose. Now I can't get enough of it. This is a tuberose exclamation for sure. It is there from beginning to end. And yes it does last forever. Anything from this line has great longevity. So it checks all the marks for me. I purchased this right after my first sample. That's how much I loved it.

This is my favorite of the Maison Crivelli house thusfar. I love the sweet Tuberose paired with leather. The drydown and sweetness at the end of the day on skin are intoxicating. I often wear it on a sweater that doesn't get very dirty and days later I can still smell it there. I've received so many complements on it and a dear friend wants a sample vial from me which she will get soon enough. I have fallen in love with this very comforting scent. It reminds me of my Father's leather jacket, (which he left me) and his encouragement of all the creative things I do like music, cooking, sewing, gardening. Plus the chocolate we used to share :) . So evocative of so many Good things /Good times and how they smelled. I treasure this scent. It is full of beautiful memories for me. Oddly, I don't get cinnamon in this scent. Cinnamon for me is very woody, spicy and reminds me of cinnamon red hot candies or Atomic fireball candies, cinnamon rolls or PHO Vietnamese beef soup broth with charred ginger & onion + Anise, clove and black pepper. Tubereúse Astral is an ephemeral comfort that opens up a portal where I can touch, smell and see my beloved father who passed years ago. I miss him, yet this concoction, this magic potion bring his presence near, I just close my eyes... Amazing what scent can do for the memory. Thanks for your Magic Maison Crivelli, it buoys my soul.

When I learned about the house of Maison Crivelli there were a few bangers that I wanted samples of: Magnetik, Chromatique, Oud stallion, Hibiscus, Infrarouge and this one. Of them all, this was the one I got a sample first. First off. Absolutely NUCLEAR. I wore this at an outdoor festival and remained outdoors from 4pm until 11pm, and even after 11pm it last for another 4 hours in a nightclub environment receiving compliments still. The scent was still there, and I am not talking about an intimate one either. I definitely consider this a beast mode fragrance and it isn't too harsh either. 4-6 sprays can take you a long way. If you want to be memorable, outdoors (all weather is fine, especially spring), make a statement and look for compliments, then this is for you. Ok. Enough for the performance. The fragrance made me realize my affinity for tuberose and it was a good introduction as well. This is the gold standard in my opinion of tuberose and is what i compare other tuberose fragrances too since it is so exceptionally executed. The vanilla and cinnamon blends with it to make a decadent, carnal milkshake of a concoction. This could easily be in my top 5 favorite perfumes once I purchase a full bottle.

Scent Test Today, I’m wearing and testing this fragrance. It opens with a gentle wave of sweet florals airy yet inviting before gradually evolving into a soft, creamy vanilla that lingers beautifully after about three hours. The transition feels seamless, lending the composition a subtle sophistication. Gender While designed as a unisex fragrance, I find it versatile enough to be worn comfortably by anyone. Interestingly, a friend remarked that it leans more masculine on my skin, which shows how personal and subjective the perception of this scent can be. Performance With four sprays, the sillage extends just beyond arm’s length, creating a discreet aura rather than a commanding presence. It won’t fill a room, but up close, the fragrance reveals its full character in a graceful, understated way. Longevity is solid, lasting well over half a day on my skin without fading too quickly. Overall Impression This is a refined and well-balanced composition—elegant, approachable, and versatile. I find myself enjoying it thoroughly and could see it as a fragrance I’d reach for on select occasions when I want something polished yet not overpowering. Rating 9/10 – a graceful creation that resonates with me.

Wrap it up. Feminine, sweet, creamy tuberose with sexy, masculine, warm cinnamon. Somehow remains perfectly unisex but NOT in an androgynous way to me, it’s very feminine and very masculine at the same time. The thing these two gender archetypes have in common? They are both sexy, domineering, and mysterious. The cinnamon pulls toasted on me and osmathethous is leathery and heavy. The musk is actually one of my favourites parts of this fragrance, it uplifts everything providing an amazing slight freshness, that also makes the apricot-esque osmathsthous be so juicy? I was so surprised when I checked the notes and saw no fruit. The vanilla comes through in the dry down, making this sweet. I reach for Hibiscus Mahajád when I want to be flirty, I reach for this went I want to be seductive. They work amazing together too. Powerhouse of sillage and projection and a masterpiece, finally a tuberose where I don’t just smell tuberose and maybe one other note. Smells like a royal flush in poker. I think of beautiful girls with skinny cigarettes and eye bags who you meet outside of an event and remember for ever or men who you are desperate to know but are too intimidated to pursue. Be desirable. Be this.

Recently I started craving for a good white floral scent that is after I came across Valaya by PDM. So I was searching for different types of white florals and found Tuberose Astrale (TA) by Maison crivelli, I really wanted to check it out since it’s created by the creator of Valaya Quentin Bisch and its maison crivelli that means quality. I couldn’t find it where I live, I received the samples of maison crivelli and TA was included in the samples. I sprayed it and fell in love, first time I thought it was too soft and floral. I left it there and recently tried it when I was going to a luxury restaurant. Man !!!! It smells divine ✨ It’s this intoxicating cinnamon, white floral and musk with a suede base scent that is beastly and screams quality. I felt so confident wearing it because this is what it does to you. Checking the official website and seeing the way they are presenting TA with a night sky full of stars I now understand what QB was planning when creating this and the name Tuberose Astrale 💫 Man I’m getting a full 100ml bottle and I can’t wait to rock this 👌🏼. Beastmode and quality wise maybe better than xerjoff shooting stars collection. Magnetic, mystical, mesmerizing scent.

Huge Edit: This smells amazing on my husband, like fine saddle leather and a smooth, sexy floral that balances it out perfectly. On him, it is a very masculine fragrance. Id reccomend testingvthis on skin befpre purchase, but it is a definite win! Original Post: I Bought two testers of this, a sure sign of my misplaced optimism. I am so confused! Cumin hit me like a wave, and I bravely rode through it, sure that the dry down would be just delightful. The tuberose itself is lovely, but the osmanthus is a nuclear biohazard. This smells like a sweaty curry eating dude sitting in a nasty leather chair at a dog park...with tuberose, of course. I paid dearly for this, so I'm going to retry it solely out of a combination of curiosity and cheapness. I'm kind of angry that I had to scrub it after only three hours...it was starting to kill me! Do not blind buy. Do NOT buy more than one tester, and consider other tuberoses, like Carnal Flower first.

Dare I say, the queen of tuberose. This is easily one of the most intoxicating fragrances I have smelled. With Maison Crivelli, there is always that “beast mode” factor—they do not really do subtle (yes, I am looking at you, Hibiscus Mahajád). But with Tubéreuse Astrale, the intensity actually works in its favor. It is strong, yes, but controlled. It does not slap you in the face, it pulls you in. Instead of pushing your wrist away from your nose, it makes you press your skin closer and inhale deeper. Tuberose and rich vanilla, with a soft leather nuance from osmanthus. The leather is not animalic or rough at all. If leather could ever be described as airy or almost transparent, this would be it. That said, in high heat, it can be very sweet, almost to the point of being overwhelming. But then again, this is not something I would reach for in scorching weather anyway. Overall a masterpiece and easily one of Quentin Bisch’s best. 10/10 ✨

This one is not for the faint of heart! Truly a beast of a fragrance, in the best of ways. Can confirm that it does not fail in turning heads and getting compliments. I'm normally not a very approachable person, I don't often get complimented despite always wearing gorgeous perfumes (if I do say so myself :), but with this one people just can't help themselves. It is my number 1 tuberose and that's saying something as I am a huge fan of Fracas, but this one has my heart. I adore the cinnamon note in it. Quentin Bisch is a true genius. This is a "going out", "dressing up", "special event" perfume for me, it's too strong for frequent use and I wouldn't want to tire of it. It makes me feel truly sexy and confident. I don't like the "Astrale" branding, it has nothing to do with space so the brand communication is confusing, but that's easy to forgive with such a gobsmacking scent ♡

A tuberose centric perfume I can wear! I have been a fan of that note since I can remember. But as a man, it is hard to pull off if not done right. In the past, I have owned: Naomi Goodsir's "nuit de bakelite" which, as the name suggests, leans too hard on the plasticky facet of tuberose. Frederic Malle's "carnal flower" which leans hard on the creaminess and screams "rich old white lady". Not meant in a bad way, as they tend to be fabulous! But making the scent too feminine on me 🙂 This sits just right on my skin thanks to the leathery and spicy aspects. Compliments getter! Not just "you smell nice" but "waw what is it? Can you write it down for me?". The opening is a little too intense for me but 30 minutes in: glorious! Big love for the scent, big love for the performance. And the deep dry down from what transfered on to scarfs or coats is dreamy, even days later.

Let’s start with the sillage and projection here. Fragrantica community is definitely underrating the sillage on this! If it’s not enormous what is? It’s roughly on par with the moon by Frederic Malle maybe bigger than Alexandria II. If you are comfortable with that level of attention then this reminds me of gozo. Bubble gum tuberose on a vanilla slightly woody musky base. The scent itself I’ve smelt before just the performance is ruthless. Honestly, I can see how in some societies just hitting the streets or metro with this will offend people. Great fragrance for a crowded event where you want to stand out. The performance is just too insane for a dressy occasion. Where this to your wedding if you wanna choke out the priest. Edit 23/4/26: I've worn this quite a bit. The sillage is insane and it's quite fresh and unique.

Outstanding masterpiece!!! Bisch never disappoints, so I didn't expect to be surprised ... but lord, this is ahead of the "whose-tuberose-is-the-best" race! Sensual yet strong, the cinnamon is the magical compound that harnesses the wild nature of the tuberose! All other notes are bowing down to this magnetic couple! Why "astrale"? The story originates from Thibaud Crivelli experiencing the scent of tuberose under the Milky Way. However, my perception revolves around the astrological fate to whether one can be unexplainably attracted or repelled by certain people or objects. Cinnamon is the sprinkle of childhood for me and tuberose is the forbidden magic not immediately divulged in such an innocently looking flower. Apart of the magical stuff - longevity, projection, sillage - 100/10 !!! <3

Ok so ....I’ve been looking for a nice Tuberose perfume. I won’t bore you with all that I tried but this one stole my heart. It isn’t boring or typical but it’s just complex enough without doing too much. I also own L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge, and there are resemblances but they are different. They are like 2nd cousins leaning towards 3rd. I sprayed this on one hand and L’Interdit on the other and my husband immediately picked this. It’s so nice. To me you can smell the cinnamon and leather but it doesn’t overpower the smell. It’s blended perfectly. I adore it. Edit: on deep deep deep dry down its smelling like Creed Queen of Silk. Very different dry down from what you initially smell but it’s still amazing.

This is so unusual tuberose perfume for my nose. The tuberose is definitely the star here but the osmanthus is giving that "new automobile" vibe (with leather interior). I don't know if this is because of word "Astrale" in the name but I can imagen this scent is coming from girl passenger on a spaceship. This is so strange and somehow beautiful. When I first sprayed it on my skin I've asked one of my friends (not from perfume addicted) to tell me what is she thinking about it, is it strange etc. She told me that this is good but somehow it smells like car refresher and she want her car to smell like this. So this is unique perfume with somehow strange feeling and I love it.

Interestingly, the cinnamon top note goes dirty and animalic on my skin for the first few minutes until it dries down and blends more into the other notes. It almost comes across a little cumin-esque. Needless to say the opening is not my favourite part of the evolution, however, in the dry down this irritating characteristic disappears. I then get bright and lemony apricot/fruity osmanthus that blends with beautiful, fleshy, lush tuberose, set amidst a velveteen touch of spice and sueded leather with a musky and sweet base. The dry down is very beautiful and the performance is potent. One I need to play with more, but I am really liking this...

Warm cinnamon opening, flowing into soft white green stem florals. This then gently enrobes the opening to mid in a classic '"Bisch" combo of soft leather, musk and vanilla. Perfectly down-the-line Unisex. And a someone who vehemently steers away from Tuberose, I dig how he's used it here (Subtly!) This is, like some of his best creations, is all about sillage. Last a good while too. Sits in a similar wheelhouse as Liquide Imaginaires Liquid (Gold) and Desert Suave, and similarly, all have a suggestion of bubblegum sweetness, but in the best way! As a man, very much love it!

This is a beauty. I realized it reminded me just a touch of Good Girl Gone bad. Just a touch. Similar notes but less fruity and airier. Sweet but somewhat creamy. Not sure what that note is but it is quite enjoyable. I will wear this out today and test the waters. I may need a full bottle soon. I think the hype right now are these spiced fruity florals with saffron or cinnamon. They tend to be very sweet. This one managed to not be too sweet and therefore a big “yes”. Please place in skin to test. The strip is totally a different experience.
