Ambre 35

This is the fragrance the fortuneteller wore when you had your cards read after that nasty break-up with your last boyfriend. Although the musk is almost imperceptable to the nose, an animalic quality exists about this perfume. Something primal. Something vital.

Extremely rude, yet naughty lover. There is a tiny line between amber and spices that will generally take the blend to a complete different horizon. Now this fragrance is full of surprises as it whiffs between 2 categories, spice and amber as i smell more of spices than amber! as a matter of fact, it's just bits of amber and it's because of the opoponix, pure patchouli, and the palsamic. I am completely sure that it does have more spices! it's cumin, and bits of curcuma (turmeric), nutmeg, beside the cedar. I really enjoyed this fragrance but it is unwearable to be honest for some reason, it's because it smells like sweaty armpit of someone who eats spices allot! and that would a be a general thought of course for the masses, but to the ones who really understands perfume and art, this is a masterpiece. Edit (6th Jane 2018) the more i wear it the more i crave it, this is just above imagination, very harsh, very balsamic, very spicy, yet charming and superbly captivating. Edit (20th May 2020 - The coronavirus situation) No offense to me, but the first statement about this fragrance that it is like armpit and unwearable was quite a retarded statement :D this is just unbelievably amusing and alluring! quite animalic amber with huge doses of labdanum, obobonax, and balsam fir! it remind me allot of "Amber Noir" by Angela Flanders with it's offensive amber and amusing charm animalic that it gets! i see this as offensively ecstacy.

Definitely something naughty even chocolatey about this one. Like a rich boozy chocolate. I think the opoponax, which in some perfumes seems a little skanky but I absolutely love it here, nothing skanky to my nose, very quality, refined. Something about combination of peru balsam labdanum and patchouli that always gets my gears going. I wouldn't say it's sweaty at all, not getting cumin or spices, just the sweet resinous almost woodsy oudy balsamics. I am also getting a slight incense vibe, wonder if there's a note missing here? The very faint rose makes this very oriental, wearable and unisex, and on my skin it wafts so sweetly, almost a honey effect, could even be a balsamic gourmand. Definitely has full bottle potential. Second test: very dense and balmy candlewax. Big like but my need to have a full bottle has disappeared. Not sure why...I guess because it smells like what I imagine chewing on a wax melt would taste like.

I'm opening my sample in 90-degree weather, so it's not ideal, as this scent is very dense and sweet and dark and syrupy. Notes list opoponax, but I'm getting a hint of caraway seed and clary sage that I thought was ambrette, which is not listed. I'm also guessing it's a completely vegan amber, as it lacks the salty funk of Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea, which I was told is real ambergris. Foregrounded today is the sweetness and not many spices or muscs to lighten it. Amber amber. Nice for a vegan who lives in a cold climate?
