Noisette

Noisette is so lovely. It opens with a bright freshness and wet lavender. Theres almost a green apple crispness on initial spray. It melts into a very nicely blended earthy, aromatic, almost herbaceous lavender. Not overly sweet or sugary. It's cool like a cold front breeze on an otherwise hot musky day. Amber only warms the fragrance it stays pretty consistent and in the background. Overall it's wonderful. Like an herbal lavender take on Glossiers You. I would absolutely get the full bottle if it wasn't for the price as well as the poor packaging and customer service experience I've had so far. Sort of shocked with how little care is put into the shipment of their products. Unfortunately, Noisette is a love and I will have to use my sample sparingly or pray for a day when Md'E get's their shit together. Or if anyone has a bottle I could buy off them I'd hear them out. Anything to not have to deal with this company again.

This is stunning- classy, feminine, simple in the best way possible. It became my signature scent immediately. Longevity and projection are moderate- it last about 6-7 hours on my skin and clothes, packaging is beautiful and feels luxurious. Expensive- $350 for a 60ml it is indeed outrageous- but I really loved this one so I splurged, if was just a like, I would pass due to the price/ml. Cost/benefit is not good if it is not a love for you- so sample first is wise. For reference, for me this like Dorsey E. Q. With the addition of lavender, but in a very sophisticated way. If you’ll love this one as I do, I don’t know- which person has its own preference and style. Yet I can guarantee this does not smell like cat pee as someone said below.

This is beautiful, I want a full bottle of it!! The dry down is soooo good omg 😍 Just wish it lasted longer 😭 it’s not terrible, I got about 3 hours on skin and it lasts much longer on clothes and in hair.

The first time I sprayed Noisette, I was immediately transported to an equestrian training arena. I could smell the fresh dirt underfoot, the soft florals drifting in from somewhere beyond the fence line, and a light powdery musk moving through the air like a breeze. It felt light, atmospheric, gentle — the kind of scent that doesn’t announce itself, it just settles in around you. I’ll be honest, at first I wasn’t sure how I felt. Maison d’Etto is so beautifully equestrian‐coded that I wanted to fall in love instantly, and when I didn’t, I felt a little let down. But something about Noisette kept pulling me back. I found myself reaching for it again and again, trying to understand it. And slowly, it opened up. On my skin, it becomes soft, subtle, nostalgic — familiar in a way I couldn’t quite place at first. The lavender is just a whisper, and the whole fragrance evolves gently, like a story unfolding. For me, it tells the story of a day out with my horses. Not dramatic, not loud... just honest and lived‐in. I spray it a few hours before morning chores because I never wear anything heavy around our animals especially our horses. They find strong scents offensive, and I respect that. But Noisette fits my environment perfectly. It elevates the quiet moments — feeding, brushing, walking the paddock — without ever overwhelming them. And then something happened that surprised me. When my palomino gelding, Ryder, caught the scent downwind, he bee‐lined straight to my wrist and buried his nose in it. He followed me around the paddock like he couldn’t get enough. I tested it again the next day, and he did the exact same thing. I’ve never seen a horse react to a perfume like that — genuinely entranced. Maybe I became one huge snack to him. For me, Noisette is intriguing, soft, and gentle. It’s not a showstopper; it’s a companion. A scent that feels like home, like routine, like the quiet beauty of life with horses. It grew on me in the most unexpected way, and now I understand it — and appreciate it — so much more. If anything Ryder loves the scent.

Enigmatic minimalist ambery fougere that will reap rewards for the adventurous perfume lover. The scent opens with a magnolia and lavender and then moves to a heart of orris and synthetic musk. The perfume settles on a powdery amber base created with ambrette seeds, labdanum, vanilla and benzoin. The soft comforting scent has moderate projection and very good longevity. This scent can bring back happy memories of childhood. Enjoy!

This is a really beautiful, dirty, lavender scent. It’s lavender that has recently been rained on, caked mud, wet concrete and wildflowers. This is a relaxing, light scent. I have Celine’s Rimbaud which is very similar (Lavender, orris) but Noisette is more of a rainy, damp, dirty scent and Rimbaud is warm lavender in a sunlit field. I don’t believe I will be buying a full bottle but I will definitely finish the sample.

I find Noisette to be a tenderly sweet window into another time, though I don't much care for it. I do not smell any floral element in this at all. At its heart is a warm amber, with raw, waxy nuts (think walnut), mixed with warm dust on old wood, and something industrial... but what was industrial at the turn of the century, like glue made from animal products and a hint of rubber cement. I didn't smell lavender until I looked at the notes and maybe there's a touch of that as well (think drawer sachet). That industrial note isn't the strongest or terribly astringent, but I get hits of it fairly frequently. It reminds me of the attic at your grandparents' house, or walking into a parlor filled with antique furniture and taxidermied birds, but in as good a way as those things can smell. I don't get much development in this after the initial drydown, this is what it smells like through the wear for me. Not a great performer in terms of longevity, projection, or sillage. Not my favorite, but it is unlike most other fragrances I have smelled. Not my cup of tea, but it could be for someone else. 6/10.

I find this fragrance impossible to put words toward without feeling as though I have somehow mangled it. On paper it plays chipper, almost sour, slightly minty, very green. On my skin, the resinous notes bring a floral musk that surprises me in its shade. Ultimately, I found it nauseatingly heavy. Heat did it no favors. And still, I find myself smelling it again and again. Still I describe it as lovely, as thoughtful. It took me hours to realize it smells like my grandmother in the early aughts. Her floral coverups at the pool. Her garden of irises. Her lavender lotions. Her thick cushioned couches in the cool summer afternoon. I cannot put this away because I want to revisit her. I think simply it is for me to visit, not wear.

medicinal and cooling. not sure if i fully like it but i keep sniffing trying to figure out what exactly i’m smelling. there’s something very wide open and airy, then at the very end of the sniff a deeper purple floral that is more satisfying to me. this is helping my brain pick out the powdery iris accords in phlur’s father figure, which is helpful as i haven’t tested out many scents with this profile yet!

On paper it’s rather pretty but when sprayed on my skin it’s overtly powdery. Like dusty lipstick.

This is the scent that made me reevaluate my relationship with lavender. And orris! By all accounts, I shouldn’t like this (I ended up with a free sample only by chance). But it has now entered my full bottle wish list, and I am absolutely savoring my sample, especially to wear to yoga. It packages the orris and lavender together to make them both more than the sum of their parts. The orris rounds out and softens the lavender, which is formulated without the screechy parts here. And yet the aromatic lavender still cuts against the rootiness of the orris, adding intrigue. The orris is devoid of baby powder here, and the result overall is a beautifully calming and linear scent that operates for me like heightened aromatherapy. Definitely recommend trying it for sleep, meditation, and yoga!

Clean lavender perfume mostly, with just a touch of the vegetal aspect of orris and a bit of musk in the dry down. Mostly it’s a lavender bomb for me. This perfume was unfortunately my least favorite of the discovery set, although it is still pleasant. I think I’ve come to realize that I’m not a fan of lavender in perfume in general. But I highly recommend this house and experiencing all of their perfumes because they are all really beautiful!

A perfectly done lavender perfume that escapes the sharp pharmacy quality of coarser lavender fragrances. It’s a very elegant- a fairly unadorned- though slightly sweet version of lavender. It’s too expensive - though it didn’t evaporate immediately like most of its closest comparison scents.

Soft, cozy lavender musk that is very similar to glossier you. It somehow reminded me of Sana Jardin’s Sandalwood Temple. Very long lasting with moderate to intimate projection. I like it a lot, not sure if it deserves the retail price tho.

I am an Iris lover through and through. This is beautiful and I can’t wait to wear it.

If Musk 12 and Chanel Jersey had a baby, this would be it. Super pretty.
