Absolue Pour Le Matin 2024

I sense a subtle metallic scent at the beginning which I love, so I picked this over L'Eau d'Hiver from Frederic Malle, I once had. Never read any info before visiting the boutique. Maybe it's a hint of lemon, very weak smell of lemon, i guess. Then it slowly turns into luxury powdery skin scent when orange blossom, violet and thyme take over. Really good for sticky sweaty hot summer day. Smell fresh and clean all day. Love!!!!

Beautiful perfume, suitable for work or a morning walk for shopping. I love Kurkdjans', even if some are not my taste. They don't deserve this hate. Don't waste your time if you only are a Montale's amber bombs person, this is a totally different style.

Maybe my nose is broken, as I don't pick up strongly on lemon; I'm mostly experiencing rose "baby oil", with hints of clean, green notes in the opening, along with other powdery florals in the mid. This one manages to be much more formal than Petit Matin, which I consider minimalistic, clean, and modern. Absolue Pour le Matin evokes images of a bath, prepared with scented oils, lacing a white silk bow tie around one's collar, walking on plush carpet with leather-soles, etc. It reminds me also of Dior's Ambre Nuit, from the rosy notes down to the amber in the base, although it's kept fresher both in profile and in performance. Sunlight and sliced cucumbers; Absolue Pour le Matin feels "wet" and "active" even though it's powdery, like when doing physical labour while fully dressed up. Ambre Nuit, in contrast, becomes more shy with time, protective of itself and its magnetism, sitting quietly with arms and legs crossed and a flawless complexion.

A fairly non-descript floral, citrus musk. Inoffensive, clean, simple, well-executed, but completely unmemorable

Man, I really like this. It’s so simple, so clean, so fresh and completely inoffensive. Soft, airy, and effortlessly clean - the kind of scent that just works without trying too hard. At its core, it’s a very straightforward blend of florals, citrus, and musk. Nothing more, nothing less. The beauty here is in how well it’s put together: minimal, polished and quietly elegant. If this were priced cheaply, it would be an amazing summer daily or a casual reach, something you spray on without thinking twice. But at niche-level, exorbitant pricing, it’s hard not to question it. I like the scent, truly... but I hate the price tag.

I don’t get it. I got a sample of this perfume with my order and the way this smells on my skin is completely unexpected considering the notes. It smells like cumin on me. Indian or rather Middle Eastern blend of spices, matter of fact, I could swear this is exactly what Za’atar smells like.

This is horribly synthetic. It smells like cheap household cleaning solution. 4/10 is being generous, in my opinion.

This fragrance is so sharp and piercing that it could easily outperform an ordinary air freshener. In fact, it might be better suited for that very purpose — wearing it on skin feels questionable. The opening is dominated by a harsh, almost biting lemon note. It feels bright and acidic, like a sharp citrus burst. Soon after, the scent softens slightly and transitions into orange blossom, which brings a more floral tone — but unfortunately it does not last long. The composition evaporates very quickly, leaving behind only a faint trace of what once was. Overall, it is difficult to recommend this fragrance. It simply does not justify its price and fails to deliver the distinctive Kurkdjian signature one might expect.

Reminds me of Imitation Man. I didn’t smell the 2010 edition of Absolue Pour le Matin. I love Violet when it’s blended in this manner. MFK gets a lot of hate for making pleasant fragrances and it’s really a shame. It’s masterfully blended. Perfect for a woman who loves fresh florals or a man who is into floral fragrances. If I didn’t have Imitation man I’d likely buy a bottle.

If "clean" was a fragrance. It's a very simple mix of florals, citrus and musk. Nothing else. Very simple but very well crafted. For a cheap fragrance it'd be incredible as a summer daily or something you spray casually, but at niche prices it's not great.

Nice lemon opening. Lemon smells realistic. Touch of thyme for some earthiness after the opening..Violet isn’t dominant to my nose, but I guess it’s powdery. It’s nice enough. Only tried on my arm.
