APOM

Confused by the dismissal on here. This is to me precisely unisex in a way that would challenge those determined to draw a division, APOM doesn't care - it's too happy in itself. It is luminous and bright with neroli and ylang ylang, gently soapy with lavender and white musks yet rich and darkened with something woody and animalistic that I didn't fully register until I just now made the mistake of wearing it without a wash first which put it all into perspective. It achieves some of that "your skin but better" that I've often read about and not found to be true, just flattering. Here it has teeth. If I'm cool and calm the soapy lavender dominates, excited or warm and the bright floral notes start to jump - bit sweaty and dirty and that gets a not entirely wanted boost too yet I'm convinced that's exactly what makes this work right. The sillage isn't heavy and alternates sometimes near resinously soapy, sometimes aldehydic bright fruity. Fun more than shout. I have some beautiful tropical scents and this feels near that vibe that's so often full of citrus and coconut, but this would have been better in the actual tropics both day and night. This is a genuine rayon and coconut button pattern matched floral Hawaiian shirt, draped luxuriously over fresh clean sun soaked skin radiating a deeply happy warmth from someone content past caring whether you wanted to put them or the fragrance in a box. This will relegate Curacao Bay to when I want to believe it's sunny happy times, which does suit it better. This is for when it's real, but not Colonia Assoluta sharp - it's too smoothly careless and cheeky. Takes me straight back to the Seychelles with my eyes shut, and I didn't even have it then so fun as a little private evening dream. A couple of sprays gives me a beautiful little bubble and gets turned heads - still at a loss how people need more than that from most of this house, any more and I'm tasting them which is never good. Doesn't sing in the cold. Lasts and lasts consistently after a really curious bright then gappy first half hour before it gets thicc. Some of this must take some skin warmth to get moving so if you want to test get it on your skin and wait for the big swell to judge. Tldr: laughed at the cheesy name, tried it - stopped laughing. Mercilessly unisex. One of my top 4 mfks alongside the GF pair and mp which was also a surprise.

This new APOM is a wonderful scent for sure! Right from the beginning, I am greeted by the most soft, creamy and sunny note of orange blossom I have ever experienced. But fret not, APOM is not a soliflore! The orange blossom is accentuated by the relaxing freshness and slight herbal vibe of lavender. Now I know lavender in perfumes can be tricky, too herbal, scratchy even. But again, Monsieur Kurkdjian managed to incorporate the Provençal note so perfectly into the creamy feeling of the scent, it actually brings a bright lightness into the composition. Every other note, the vanilla, the ylang ylang, the cedarwood, the labdanum... to my nose, they are merely supporting actors within the structure of APOM, albeit not without importance! They create an atmosphere, a base for the overarching, solar & creamy freshness to fully develop its charm. There is not much development, but that's more than fine, if the main accord is so pleasing and beautiful. APOM is elegant, creamy, fresh, sensual, summery, clean... A scent full of light, but not without substance. A charming piece of scent I will soon add to my collection! Its longevity is outstanding, especially applied on hair or clothing it just doesn't want to disappear! Sillage is also great, it wafts around you in a most soft and elegant maner, never too much, but noticeable wherever you go. Thanks Mr. Kurkdjian for this Masterpiece! Definitely unisex, as are all fragrances if we remember that they are merely scented waters for us to enjoy :-)

I absolutely love this. Powerful, sweet, rounded and a presence that is old school. I get ylang ylang and neroli bound together with amber - it’s sweet - but the heaviness is cut by the lavender in the dry down - it’s not a sharp lavender (softened by the musk?) but it’s there and it’s there hours after spraying it. There is powderiness, but it’s not dry. This is a really rich sweet confection. The vanilla is not prominent - it’s part of the sweetness. At a time when vanilla oud seems to be the base of so many fragrances, I’m revelling in this floral power frag and have acquired a 75ml bottle which given my fragrance addiction (and my getting bored easily... which means I have hundreds of 30ml bottles as I simply never finish one), says how much I am enjoying this. Its wearable. I love wearing it and I have received compliments on it! I get that aficionado’s of the house feel that this is a crowd pleaser - but what is wrong with that? Personally, I want to be wrapped in a fragrance I love, all day long - especially in the winter; not always challenged by a frag that I have to let develop for so many hours to get to a point that I want to smell it. This is definitely an autumn/winter fragrance to me.

This perfume feels like it was made for me; it exudes this aura of an elegant sleepy fairy. It's sultry and luxurious. Upon first spray, you get lulled into this rich, powdery scent. I couldn’t quite place it, but looking at the notes, it HAS to be the lavender. While I usually avoid lavender in perfumes since it comes across as too aromatherapeutic, here it isn’t obvious at all. It’s this delicate, soft note that is so peaceful and charming. I love how the orange blossom is incorporated; usually, it gets a little nasty, but here it isnt. It’s blended so well when it's typically so overpowering. As it moves into the heart, the ylang-ylang adds this gorgeous solar roundness that keeps the powder from getting too dry or flat. It transitions so smoothly into the vanilla and white musk base, which is where it becomes truly sultry. Everything is so perfectly balanced. it’s not a loud, "look at me" scent; it’s more of an intimate, inviting, and friendly glow that stays close to your skin. I absolutely love this for fall and winter because it has that cozy warmth, but it’s also such a great night scent for any time of the year. It’s sophisticated enough to feel chic but "sleepy" enough to feel intimate.

A beautifully powdery gem, one of those masterpieces crafted with incredible expertise by the brilliant perfumer Francis. Blended in a way that feels effortless yet deep, it combines citrusy, leathery, powdery, and musky notes in perfect harmony. Completely unisex and absolutely distinctive. Orange blossom, lavender, amber, musk, vanilla, and ylang-ylang come together to create an elegant and captivating scent. It’s powerful and sweet with a touch of old-school sophistication. I sense the ylang-ylang and neroli beautifully intertwined with amber, while the lavender cuts through the sweetness in the background. The lavender isn’t sharp, probably softened by the musk, but it lingers for hours after spraying. There’s a powdery texture, but it’s not dry — the fragrance is rich, smooth, and well-balanced. Vanilla isn’t dominant, but it adds to the overall sweetness. At a time when so many fragrances are all about vanilla and oud, this one feels like a true work of art. It wears beautifully on the skin, and every time I wear it, I get compliments. For me, this is an autumn/winter fragrance in every sense of the word.

Apom 2024 is a classic-bourgeois floral, which although it has a very fresh opening with the beautiful orange blossom and is also added later with the ylang-ylang that has quite a density...if you don't like lavender it may be difficult for you to accept it . I notice quite a bit of lavender throughout the fragrance, and it creates a very interesting aromatic profile for me. I could say that it is a floral-aromatic-ambery...can it be called that? Ambery soapy floral?, maybe. This aromatic lavender and flowers give it a very endearing appearance. I like it, I quite like its classic-elegant intensity among so many perfumes that for me are perhaps too modern. And what I like the most is when the amber begins to resurface and becomes sweetly resinous, as I already said, it is phenomenal as an aromatic floral amber perfume. And the musk is very noticeable, it propels the perfume like a rocket. It's strange, because I don't really like florals but I love this one, its smell is so intense, I like that all its notes are so impetuous. I think it is one of the best perfumes Mr. Francis Kurkdjian has done lately.

I did not smell APOM before this release: it first appeared on the MFK menu as two fragrances, a Homme & a Femme. I’m grateful to be unencumbered by what was because I find APOM (A Part of Me) to be wholly pleasant and can adore what it is at present, a glowing floral amber that deepens my own trepidatious appreciation for an amber foundation. Here amber is presented crystalline, beaming light through its natural translucence like a prism fashioned from tree sap. Vivacious orange blossom in the top charge the amber with a mild citrus tinge that elevate the brightness. The combination of citrus bloom, amber and sharp lavender flirt with sour for a bit, then mellow to a smooth and creamy blend. Sandalwood and a gauzy wash of vanilla (another note I am weary of that is so well employed here I fail to see fault) enhance the soft landings of APOM. It sits close to skin, minimal projection, though on me lingers for 8 hours and I can still find its gentle light filled bouquet in whiffs the morning after. I struggled to find a fragrance from this Maison that resonated with me, but APOM was easy to fall for.

I absolutely love APOM by MFK. If the Eucharist was a fragrance, it would 100% be this. I haven't found the occasion to wear it because it has a smell that somehow elicits the feeling of mourning, intense sorrow, but yet, light and hope. It feels like what you should wear to a funeral, or perhaps the final fragrance that one wears when they know their time on earth is near. It also strikes the feeling of going to church as a mafia wife, wearing obscenely expensive clothes, a fascinator that commands the presence of war and blood, but yet an innocence and purity that usually is found only in incense. Finding that this fragrance was created after a visit Lebanon makes so much sense to me. This feels like the pure beauty and depth of maqamat, the recitation of verses within the appropriate emotion. It is a depth of a journey, a spiritual experience. I love it, but because of the emotion it gets out of me, I've been afraid to wear it 🤣 FK himself said that it is a part of yourself that you leave with others. He did a phenomenal job of putting that sentiment in a bottle.

I met an archaeologist working at a museum while I was visiting Oslo -well, I didn't meet her per se: She waved at me from the inside of the museum, I waved her from the outside, then she showed me a couple of artifacts and because I was intrigued by them, she was visibly thrilled. She was the exact old APOM Femme type for me: Bright, bubbly and friendly -but in a very lagom way, and I LOVED that version. The new APOM is her 40-something version: She moved to Paris, her apartment is at 16th arrondissement and apparently, she fell in love with Chanel fragrances, as s.may_h noted below. I love the new APOM as well but I really don't think it was needed, we already had the best version of it. Months later: I've seen the APOM Femme is back again on the shelves, and I didn't know that they were going to relaunch it before trying this unisex one. If they did this -treating the OG like a flanker so they could sell more on purpose- it was a disgustingly cheap move. Unbelievable.

My first review 🤩 I’m not sure of the correct terminology. My nose isn’t that well trained to detect each note. However, APOM has got me. I didn’t like it the first few times I wore it (1ml sample) however I kept smelling a part of it I loved. I’d spray on my dressing gown and think nah, only to be snuffling it later in the evening. For whatever reason no perfume stays long on my skin, APOM is the same. Today I sprayed again and I loved it. The odd “funky” smell I’d detected on earlier sprays didn’t seem to be bugging me and I’ve been wrapped all day in the most luscious scent. So much so that during my Yoga session while in my perfume bubble I decided to purchase a full bottle. Don’t know if this is a MFK thing? I had the same initial feelings towards Baccarat Rouge 540 and used my sample as a room freshener. Every time over the next month or so when opening/closing my curtains I was seduced by the scent so much so I had to buy a full bottle of that one too!

APOM EDP is a blend of both the Pour Homme and Femme. vs APOM Pour Homme: The new EDP is less powdery, not as loud (perhaps because it is an EDP) and the amber is less gloppy. One can say that the new EDP has less character but on the flip side, the new EDP is also smoother. vs. APOM pour Femme: The new EDP is has more amber than the Pour Femme and the Ylang Ylang solar, sweet, floral note is less pronounced, pushing the new EDP to more unisex category. Overall, I do like the new release. Longevity is very good and the construction is smoother (albeit with less character) than the earlier versions. Thumbs up. Please Monsieur Francis Kurkdjian re-release the Lumiere Noires and launch not only aqua easy to wear scents!!! In your collection, you can still fill introduce themes that have yet to be introduced: - Tobacco - Leather - Incense - Vetiver - Non white florals - Gourmand - Boozy - Non fresh daily drivers - Orientals - Classic chyrpes

apom is a perfume that I tried by chance. what intrigued me was the lavender which is something unusual in perfumes. I use shower gels and soaps with lavender because I find this smell very relaxing so when I found out that this new fragrance contains lavender I couldn't resist trying it. what I especially appreciate is that the lavender is combined with a fresh scent that does not have blackness or a very oriental cloying style. regarding the retention of the fragrance what I can say is that many times during the day I feel that it has disappeared until on some step or in some place where I am (e.g. in an elevator) I can definitely smell it on me. overall I am very impressed as apom combines for me the freshness of the flowers, the relaxation of the lavender and a satisfactory duration. I really don't have anything else to ask for

A retro yellow floral with fizzy citrusy candy accords on opening. First sniff made me think immediately of No.5 and O de Lancome. As the fizzy yellow opening subsides, aromatic lavender and ylang ylang pull through enveloped by clean powdery musk. Smells similar to sunscreen ... If anyone remembers the P20 lotion from the 90's, a 'top shelf' sunscreen at the time. My initial thoughts were that it's a dated but wearable fragrance. However, as it develops on my skin, I'm in love with how this carries on the air around me. Transports me back to summers spent on road trips around the island of Crete. While Amyris Femme is the scent of a romantic wedding in a sparkling Mediterranean orange grove, APOM is the adventurous and grown up honeymoon full of island-hopping, toasted skin and dusty sand between toes on evening strolls.

Official Sample I tried this for a second wearing and I am still rather fond of this. I am a 45 year old male. It is not often I find a floral I enjoy, but I do enjoy this one! In fact, I am actually considering making a purchase to full bottle after this second wearing. It gives me some vibes of YSL Myslf with the white floral, cleanliness and laundry soap or baby powder vibes. Its clean muskiness with white florals and it is perfect for a warm, sunny bright day and a gentle breeze. It brings a sense of calm and good vibes that I am truly digging. It is day fragrance and for the mature individual. It is classy and clean warm weather fragrance. Man or woman could easily wear this and truly unisex.

A beautiful classic fragrance for everyday wear ✨ At first, I can smell ylang-ylang. To be honest, it's not my favorite note, but it quickly fades, revealing a beautiful orange blossom that carries a lovely citrusy tone, reminiscent of either orange 🍊 or lemon 🍋. Next, lavender emerges in the scent. It's very soft, beautiful, and slightly powdery here, adding a herbal-floral touch to the fragrance. Another note that stands out to me is amber, which gives the scent a very rounded, cozy, and enveloping feel. As for the fragrance's projection, it sits close to the skin, so you shouldn't expect much of a trail. It's perfect both for personal enjoyment and intimate dates 😌.

I really like this perfume, my only complain being the sillage: I have to sniff my arm to smell anything. I would define this as a skin scent. I tend to prefer the Extraits so maybe it’s just the Eau de Parfum that’s “weak”. When it comes to notes, I first smell orange blossom, closely accompanied by lavender. Ylang ylang, in tandem with vanilla, arrive after. I really love the notes, they’re beautiful and well blended. I would buy a full bottle if it wasn’t so weak. I bet the longevity will be okay, for some reason; I expect to smell it on my arm the day after. But the sillage is not great. I would definitely wear this at night, it’s a very comforting scent.

An old soul with a neroli tinged aura. Its vibrant opening settles into a dry down that’s soft, creamy, soapy, and musky. While lavender thrives in the center of APOM’s intimate core, soft amber, ylang-ylang, and squeaky clean musk add a playful, animalic levity to a scent at risk of taking itself too seriously. It will deeply reward anyone you allow very close to your skin. Masterclass perfumery here. A decidedly vintage composition with a few modern twists. Great projection, longevity, and sillage worthy of a great Fougere. Connoisseurs of vintage fougeres will either adore or despise APOM. As a fan of vintage Chanel and Guerlain fougeres, I’m in camp A.

First impression based on a sample from MFK website. Elegant and gorgeous. Best ylang ylang note I've smelled in a long time. Like another reviewer said, it does smell like a classic Guerlain. I caught a shadow of L'heure bleue and even a whisper of Insolence in the dry down. One of the better releases from the house. I was memorized by the opening and comforted by the dry down. ETA: I can see why people compare to it Chanel No 5. To me, it is a full-fat, high calorie version of Channel No. 5 eau Premiere if that makes sense and its overall vibe is a bit like Guerlain L'instant EDP.

This is not vintage. This is beautiful and modern. APOM smells so CLEAN. I dont know why people call this vintage. There's no one better at twisting notes like MFK. He made the Orang Blossom smell shiny, refined, elegant, opulent and airy. It doesn't even smell like Orange Blossom. This is masterfully blended. Just now a woman was standing there constantly smelling me for 15 minutes I didn't even notice until her friend said "Stop smelling him". I turned around and it took me a few seconds to realize what happened. This is perfectly unisex. I love it. Criminally underrated.
