Oud Silk Mood Extrait de Parfum

I eagerly opened my latest perfume sample shipment and tentatively applied Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Oud Silk Mood after reading mixed (many negative) reviews. Anticipating the perfume's arrival, I deliberately did not apply any other perfume that day because I wanted to experience this expensive perfume in its full glory. Surprisingly, I really LOVE this fragrance; however given the hefty price tag, I may be forced to move on to similar rouse oud perfumes and rose oud blends, such as those produced by Jo Malone, M. Micallef, Montale and Tiziana Terenzi (to name a few). I am NOT a perfume expert and I especially am not an oud expert. I've never smelled the true scent of a natural agarwood tree. With that said, I experienced and owned a few ouds but only adored perhaps one. MFK's Oud Silk Mood is a gorgeous fragrance but IMHO, you MUST wait for the dry-down! For me, the basenotes and dry-down are what make this fragrance stand out and shine. Even someone like me with limited perfume knowledge can tell this perfume is created with some fine ingredients...oud, rose, papyrus and chamomile...that's about it. Lovely. I warn the opening notes are intense, loud and almost vulgar...rubber, SMOKE & metallic notes jump out of the bottle, onto the skin & through the nose, showing no mercy! After initial application, I thought "Uh oh...oh no...this is gonna make me ill...this is gonna be a SCRUBBER!" All I could smell after initial application was something akin to burnt rubber...oud! Within 10-15 minutes, this EDP exposed its true glory with the longest lasting & loveliest wood (oud), musk-y, dark rose notes I have ever experienced. After 30-60 minutes, I could not stop enjoying the glow of the most gorgeous Bulgarian rose & wood-y oud fragrance I have ever experienced! MY husband kept commenting, "You smell GREAT when you walk by...is that the SAME PERFUME you HAD ON about 1 hour ago??? The SAME one??? Really??? You smell great...nice!" Silage!!! One reviewer, who disliked this perfume called this fragrance "cheap, synthetic, dark, odd, etc with 'urban glossy darkness' & pretention, etc." I can understand this reviewer's experience, I really can because that is (sorta) the way this fragrance opens. But give it time and delight in the dry-down. This EDP is long lasting and is a beautifully warm, comforting floral (rose) & resinous fragrance. Silage is great & really pleasant. Not sure I have the budget to spring for a full bottle. And unlike By Killian, not sure if this MFK fragrance is worthy of its hefty price tag. I'm going to take some time in the near future to re-experience "similar" fragrances, as mentioned above. Definitely worthy of a sample try, if you like rose & oud AND you can wait for the dry-down!!!

After wearing this, it's my new favorite rose. Au revoir Montale, Amouage and Bond No. 9. In the beginning, it kind of smells like a rose-scented, black, permanent felt-tip marker. I always loved that smell, and it occurs to me that someone should make a fragrance that smells just like that. I'm looking at you, Comme des Garçons. I do like most of the Montale roses, even if they are screechy synthetics, but they don't compare to this rose, which, while strong, smells more authentic, and kind of green and leafy, which I'm guessing is the papyrus. The rose in Amouage's Lyric for men starts out so bright and lively, but it dries down to the lumbering clumsiness of incense and spices consistent with the house's style. I respect Amouage and I do wear Interlude, but the house style for me is just too damned fat. Bloated even. I also wear New York Oud by Bond No. 9. I like it a lot, though I don't care much for that house's copycat approach to product development. And they put out too much too fast (not unlike the perfume mills that are Parfumerie Générale and the other Pierre Guillaume projects). Anyway, New York Oud is incredibly sharp and the rose and oud both smell just as synthetic and screechy as any Montale, if not more so. I've also found that the Bond and Montale oud-rose scents don't evolve well on my skin. The Bond stays the same and just gets weaker with no significant changes. The Montales tend to turn acrid on my skin after a couple of hours. Every now and then, I love wearing ridiculously luxurious, regal scents like those from Amouage, but most of the time, I'm happy with innovative use of a few high-quality ingredients. That's what Oud Silk Mood is. It's so simple and elegant, only a genius could have come up with it. The rose and oud are soft, but definitely noticeable, and complement each other beautifully. They don't compete with each other like they do in New York Oud.

This is my second review of MFK Oud Silk Mood. I wrote the first review more than a year ago, when I was still familiarising myself with this perfume; but now that I have had it for many months, I feel that it deserves a second account. At the moment I own 40 fragrances; obviously, that's not much, considering that some Fragrantica members have hundreds, even thousands of scents - but, on the other hand, it's way more than I ever thought I would need! When purchasing new fragrances I try not to duplicate what I already have; diversity is the keyword and each fragrance that I own is a standout, for one reason or another. Among these 40 'chosen ones', MFK Oud Silk Mood is definitely THE best, because it is such a unique minimalist artwork. On paper, it should be a simple little thing, consisting of only four major ingredients - rose, chamomile, papyrus and oud; but these four are so masterfully blended and balanced that the resulting scent is seriously addictive. In order to appreciate Oud Silk Mood, one must be a rose lover, because an enchanting, powerful rose is the main protagonist here. This heady rose is freshened up with chamomile, papyrus and a very subtle oud, without a trace of its skankier facets. The fragrance is quite linear and stays true to itself throughout its development; all notes are present from the beginning to the end. Although it is marketed as unisex, I'd say that it leans feminine: this is made for a mature, confident, successful, classy woman. I'm not sure that I match this description, but I do hope so! To sum up, this is one of the best investments that I ever made and worth every penny. Do not bother with dupes and save up to buy the real thing. It is meant to be used sparingly, so a 70ml bottle can last for many years. This is a perfume to bring to a deserted island.

What an amazing scent... It starts off a bit sharply, but in around ten minutes it calms down and becomes the most harmonious oud based composition I have ever smelt. To add the chamomile note into the composition was a brilliant idea, it creates something special here, unexpected, unusual, gorgeous. It's hard to explain, hard to describe this slightly herbaceous freshness-to-bitterness, which by no means makes a bitter perfume out of SILK MOOD, no, it's actually a sweet perfume! The sweetness comes from the roses. Oh, I'm in heaven right now as I smell it from my wrist... I think I fail to unravel the magic of this work. Usually I can tell why I love what and why this and that work this way, etc. But not here. Just pure delight. Francis Kurkdjian does it again. I think he's the biggest perfumer of our time. There are perfumers out there who are undoubtedly very talented and whom I love with all my perfumista's heart (and nose), but this guy is just one of a kind. I think he's a man of rare genius. I have observed his career for around ten years, because, in my opinion, he demonstrated sparks of genius even in the very beginning of his professional path. I must say that his talent has developed into something truly outstanding and influential. Back to the perfume - I think it's completely unisex, however, it's so refined, so exquisite, and I may imagine that guys might prefer a "tougher" oud from MFK's collection. I would say SILK MOOD will do wonders on female skin. It does on mine... I'm starting to save up for this miracle of perfumery from now on.

At first i flat out said, "this is black aoud by Montale". But its not even close. Its so different. Oud Silk Mood is the epitome of the Middle Eastern Rose & Oud perfume in my eyes. Its so beautiful, so sparkling, so sexy. There is absolutely nothing that doesn't ooze class here. The Rose is gorgeous and juicy. It never fades to the background. Its always there, to let you know that its the boss. Its not soapy, not powdery. Its as if you were to pick a Rose out of the ground and dig your nose into it. Thats what you get. There is something that adds a certain dustiness to the rose, it almost smells like an ever so slight citrus, but not. I believe this is the papryus. That would make sense to me. The backbone of the scent is the Oud. Everpresent. Giving character, depth, and thickness. It adds a layer of beauty that no other material on the earth could. The liquid is purple, and somehow, if i had to think of a color while i smell this perfume, i swear it would be the dark grayish purple color of the liquid. The presentation is absolutely outstanding. Heavy glass, heavy metal cap. Gold embellishments throughout. Projection is absoultey perfect. Medium. It draws people into you. It does not hit them over the head with a bat. Longevity is excellent. Easily 10-12 hours. Yes, it is extremely expensive. But it has done what many perfumes fail to do at any price. It makes my heart sing, and when i close my eyes and breathe deeply, it takes me to a place far far away. Another Masterpiece by Francis Kurkdjian.

Doesn't have the medicinal quality of Satin Mood Extrait, and for that I am grateful. Huge blast of chamomile in the opening that gives off a sort of "lemon in your tea" vibe to me. Oddly, I walked down a hallway this morning at work and I thought there was someone wearing a very nice rose scent somewhere in front of me. Nope. It was me. Before I could really even get the rose on my skin it was projecting out in front of me for me to walk into and experience as if it were a fragrance on somebody else. Crazy. Definitely unisex, hinging on slightly feminine. My wife likes rose scents, but she has things where rose isn't the main accord... Mademoiselle, Love in Black, etc. I think this is a fragrance both of us could actually enjoy wearing. The chamomile is still present but tails off as the main note about an hour in. The funny thing is, it remains the main note on skin well past this. I don't get any whiffs of it in the air, but it is definitely what is coming off my skin for the first few hours. About 3 hours in the oud starts to come out in place of the chamomile and the projection softens a bit from the absolute rose powerhouse up until then. Lasts well over 12 hours on me, and like I said without the medicinal or overly sweet powder of Satin Mood Extrait (which I don't really like for me). As far as MFK goes this is No2 behind BR540 Extrait thus far. Amazing work of art.

Regret getting oud satin mood extrait instead of this. Well actually, I want both. They are both full bottle worthy. This is just so much more understated. It's a fabulous scent. I loved it, then read reviews here, and went down a notch as people harked on about oud satin mood instead. But man, the papyrus note in silk mood is so stunning. This just smells expensive and classy and clean. So versatile. EDIT: I caved. I bought it a few days later. There's just something about this that I couldn't stop thinking about. My brain told me that it's nothing special and overpriced, but my nose told me otherwise. I just think this is such a versatile inoffensive scent. But not inoffensive boring. You can wear it for work, evenings, dinners, at home, meetings, it's just a great scent. It's fresh and not sweet like it's counterpart (satin) which I wouldn't want to wear in a professional setting. I feel like this is one of those frags that when I'm not sure what to wear, I'll always reach for this one. This is understated like...wearing a classic timepiece, crisp white shirt (very expensive yet no flashy logos) on your private yacht in the south of Spain. It's like, yes I am a billionaire, but I don't need to say anything. This is a lot better than the EDP imo. Extremely unisex.

This is my favourite oud / rose combo, and probably my favourite rose. Feels luxurious, elegant and balanced. Silk is a great descriptive word. It's not too sweet or oudy for me, it's not too rosey either. I've been hunting for a rose / oud to buy and as a collector I want to focus on building a small collection, so I only want one rose in my collection (male here). This is not as nichey as other frags out there, but for me its a jack of all trades and something I think I would reach for when I want to get dressed up. I have MKF Oud EDP and it is super wearable. I get that feeling of wearability here as well. Compared to MFK Satin, I prefer this a lot more as satin gets very cloying on my skin, whereas this more balanced.

This one is nicely done and everything about it whispers: good quality. Rose is there and so is oud, blended together effortlessly, I can also smell papyrus (it must be the papyrus as it's the same note I can smell in Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme and both scents share three notes: rose, oud and papyrus). I like it a lot. But... For me certainly doesn't win over Guerlain's Rose Nacree du Desert and Atelier's RA. Would I wear it? Happily. Will I buy it? No. In my honest opinion is way too overpriced. But I can add it to my wish list shall I win lottery one day! I noticed I have cravings for this fragrance! Thank god I have three different shops around that sell MFK so I can pop in an satisfy my craving. Damn that price!!!

The rose here verges on both rubbery and metallic in its woody greenness. It's fresh and spicy, with a wine-dark vibe, but it also has a lot of jammy sweetness to it as well. I get a seductive, glossy, slightly wicked vibe from Silk Mood. Imagine something ink-dark oozing from the thorny stem of a fresh, burgundy rose. It's a scent that's arresting in it's sharp, precise elegance. It smells like how St. Vincent looks, and how Rasputina's cover of Bad Moon Rising sounds. Like the scent of a Fae Queen in her royal court; sharp, beautiful and knowing. That sharp, dark edge does soften after a couple of hours though, becoming a lovely, green, jammy-rose scent with just a tint of berry-wine darkness to it.

This is a very luxurious - and very expensive! - extrait de parfum; it's an Oriental with a capital 'O'. When I first tested it, a few months ago, I found it to be a warm, heavy, mature, saturated, almost suffocating concoction of oud and rose. However, for the past six weeks we've had a very harsh winter here, with the temperatures regularly plunging below -15 C, and guess what - Oud Silk Mood works absolutely brilliantly when it's very cold outside! It just wraps you in its warm hug and transports you to an oriental bazaar. Obviously I wouldn't dare wear this when it's +35 C outside - my nose would melt!

Now, this a big floral rose with a very prominent oud on the background. The Bulgarian Rose screams "i am here!". There a certain cool yet dry aspect in this. Luminiscent and airy are the two words I am looking for. As the undulating waves of both rose and oud are constant through out, i catch a delicate hint of chamomile which adds complexity to it. It read feminine to me but I could see men sporting this scent too. I like it, very light and feels like putting on a silk scarf, seeing it effortlessly getting carried away as the breeze passes you. Longevity is very good and projection is moderate.Rate: 4/5

People say it's for females , but they are wrong it's one the best Oud Rose fragrance that I have ever sniffed ..both men and women can easily wear it . It's a FRESH Rose - Oud combo perfume with super good quality ingredients . I went to a store in Switzerland to check out 540, which after trying i felt was a very ordinary and this was CLASS IN A BOTTLE.. And I thanked myself that I didn't blind buy 540 and got this instead . EDIT : My bottle is here finallyyyyy .. Drydown is the BEST Part about this fragrance i can't stop smelling myself .. Wonderful packing & presentation .

I normally detest a soapy rose, but I find MFK’s Oud Silk Mood absolutely intoxicating. The name is something of a misnomer, as this is first and foremost a rose fragrance. What Oud there is plays polite second fiddle; there’s nothing industrial or fecal about the Oud note here, so I struggle to see how this composition could offend, even in polite company. The rose is multifaceted: soapy, sweet, and powdery, yet with hints of a more severe angularity. GO EASY ON THE TRIGGER HERE. One spray is usually enough, as performance is absolutely massive.

WOW, just wow. This is true love for me. The most modern rose, the most subtle oud, and just gorgeous and exciting. YES! THIS is what I want to smell like! It's fresh, it's floral, it's oud-ish, it's modern, but at the same time very familiar. I can't afford it, but I've hunted down decants and will continue to do so because this is the first fragrance that I cannot get enough of. I'm famous for falling out of love with a fragrance before I finish 10ml, but I'm still in love with this at almost 20 ml and $90 later.

Ok, I sprayed one spray on my neck and after about 6 hours it was skin scent, after 8 hours completely disappeared and I smell nothing at all.. well it was one spray only what can I say ! After 6 days my brother came to my room and the first thing he said exactly when he opened the door : Your room smells like very clean refined Oud !! WHAT?? OMG 6 days !!!! It is a very clean, fresh, refined and smooth Rose scent, then comes the Oud as a middle note and the dry down is intoxicating.. 10/10

This one is a bit tricky. The scent bubble is rosy but when I press my nose against my wrist the odd is dominant. Some say it's feminine some say masculine and I'm guessing that this one smells different on different skin types and races of people. With that being said,everyone knows it lasts forever and knows it costs a fortune so a decant is all you really need as 2 sprays is sufficient. BTW, the oud is not harsh as in many other oud offerings from other houses.

Reminds me of the rose in Tom Ford' s Noir de Noir. Both are deep with an underlying tone of the Oud. I find Tom Ford's version smoother though. What puts me off a little is that the rose stays sharp for quite a while. So not so sure about this one. This is the strongest of the 3 in the collection. After the harshness/sourness fades, it is a relatively simplistic composition. Its definately unisex. But I think the sharpness puts this more on the femme side.

Fresh rose aoud scent with a spicy edge of papyrus, I do not immediately detect chamomile, but its there and gives some kind of flowery freshness, almost like straw or hay if you like, in combination with the papyrus, but fresher. Very well blended! Unisex and sexy. Magnificent! 91 Update 16/5/20: Awesome rose perfume, wore it to bed and its great. Has some tea like properties. And its beastmode, 12+h and still going strong. A lovely herbal/fresh spicy/ woody scent. Oud silk mood is like an olfactive picture of a pleasant provençal garden with a nice sillage. It develops as a rose-dominant perfume while the top notes were giving a fresh herbal vibe. The dry down gives an oud comforting scent which is very pleasing. But the complexity of these accords giving 3 different vibes throughout the wear is unfortunately not suiting me, but I’d love to smell it on someone else!

Absolute beast! I love this one A LOT! What can i say... that hasn't been said... YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THIS ONE! Very unisex & OUT OF THIS WORLD! Now is it worth the price? HELL YEAH! I think it's worth more! The dry down doesn't sway far from the initial application & for me that's rare. The projection is moderate but longevity is a good 8+ hours on my skin. I get a ton of compliments wearing this one & I CAN'T STOP SMELLING IT! It's so addictive.

This smells very similar to the fragrance that made me fall in love with rose. Gris Dior. The original. To me it is super similar and I am surprised that nobody else has mentioned it, but I'm assuming people focus a lot on the notes and didn't even consider it. I am not saying they smell the same and could be used as substitutes for the other, just saying there's a similarity. I really really like this. Maybe more than Oud Satin Mood Extrait. 🤔

The Extrait is oud with soft rose scent. It's a bit sharp & metallic that I won't like to wear on myself.The scent is still beautiful, so sophisticated, I love MFK. For me, I prefer Satin Mood. Instead Silk Mood smells very nice on men. Unisex but leans masculine. Longevity and Sillage is TOP. About comparison with EDP, EDP is lighter, less oud and more floral while Extrait is more masculine, more oud, more smoky.

I'm really not oud lover and only can wear miracle classic Oud from this house. I didn't find very much oud in this fragrance but rose! .. Ah roses are amazing and slightly sweet of Oud Silk Mood. I also got amazing compliments and don't think it is smells cheap. It is smell expensive and very very long lasting. I'm rose lover and this is one of the best modern rose/oud combination have ever seen.

Bought Oud Satin Mood Extrait first and really loved the intensity as it easily fills a room. That bottle came with a Oud Silk Mood Extrait sample and I instantly loved it. Same intensity and can easily fill a room. This one smells more Masculine to me then Oud Satin Mood Extrait. I love them both but this one takes the edge. Performance: 10-12 Hours Sillage: Room Filler Smell: Like a KING

I accidentally poured Chivas Regals 12 on my hoodie arm, almost on collar and did not pay attention to it that day. the next day, I took that hand close to my face and I felt very nice and attractive smell, hypnotizing, and that's what this perfume reminds me of. I guess it triggers in brain positive and instinctive signals to people subconsciously who enjoy drinking whiskey.

This smells like expensive, mysterious, and sexy. It's so alluring...it's like wearing next to nothing in a crowded, smoky room. This fragrance is the equivalent of a black dress, red lip combo. It's a sultry sexy, not really a sensual sexy. The oud makes the rose confident, not coy. There's no powder here (like in Oud Satin Mood)--just strong, self-aware, badness.

EN Only after about 45 min. this perfume develops into an olfactory miracle: sweet and bitter together, sensitive and intriguing. It's indeed the case when it's worth to wait. IT Solo dopo circa 45 min. questo profumo si sviluppa in un miracolo olfattivo: dolce e amaro, sensibile ed intrigante. È davvero un caso quando aspettare vale la pena.

This is the most special piece of my current collection, bought it late fall in Moscow's TSUM. Once I sprayed it on my wrist, I couldn't get rid of thoughts of buying it. This oud is quite subtle, but sensible, after some time the bulgarian rose becomes dominant with a hint of oud. Love the overall effect and long lasting impact of it.

Hands down! One of Fav rose - oud. Francis Kurkdjian is a talented Master perfumer. Very delicate work. His composition reminds me jewelry. Very expensive. Long lasting, because of concentration extract de parfume. Sillage long as a wind. Oud note definitely “european way” very wearable, what I prefer. Can’t wait to have Satin mood.

I remember giving the mfk Oud line a go especially with satin getting a lot of love but I never seemed to love it until I put my nose on this beauty and I remember gasping on how much I was intrigued. It’s like a cold cut, a bit metallic dry oud which is up my alley. very opposite to satin, top 10 in my collection.

Im so mesmerized by this smell. The drydown reminds me of other designer perfumes but cant point which one. I think this oud can be worn to office. Im sure people around you would feel pleasant. The oud doesnt dominate but only in the background. More floral upfront. Men can wear it too. Smells luxury definately.

im my opinion, the best Rose&Oud i've ever tried. Here rose speaks louder than oud, diferently of the other Mood's fragrances, which makes me appreciate even more because i'm a rose fan. It's smooth, engaging, elegant, romantic fragrance. Love it. This one, PoaL and Lyric woman makes my perfect rose triad.

Ma favorite of the collection, a very realistic and alluring Oud Rose Combo, but with a western twist. as all the others from the Oud collection, it is a very refined and opulent perfume, dryer and smoother, this is the very elegant version of Oud Satin mood. Performance if of course amazing. A must try !

For the first hour or so, this offering is a little harsh and unappealing and then WOW - it develops into an alluring, intoxicating rose/oud offering in perfect balance and symmetry - only problem is the price - very, very expensive - I think I'll go for the Jo Malone Rose/Oud

This is a floral perfume masterpiece, very strong rose and chamomile scent, only 3 sprays and the scent bubble will fill the room, longevity is over 10 hrs, its expensive and its worth every penny, if you love floral fragrance a must try Wthout a doubt, this gem is 10/10

I definitely prefer silk mood extrait, more deep, formal, luxury, woody, less „fried“ sweetness than satin mood... possible as signature. this opulent breeze of scent is worth the price EDIT: in addition, I enjoy drydown, metallic soap, powder touch

Hands down the best rose-oud combo I've ever smelled! High quality, smells expensive, perfectly unisex, and perfectly balanced. Very long-lasting and has strong projection, I would wear it only for colder months.

I simply adore this perfume, it is in my top three. The blend of rose and oud is perfection. Beautiful opening and dry down. Personally love the intensity. 10/10

Find a bottle from 2013-2016 if you can. The newer/reformulated version just doesn’t hit the same way.

All notes in this are very natural. Nothing harsh or chemical at all. Very classy.

I think it's the same music dialed up to loud from normal.

Edit: Smells like death in hot temperatures. Not so versatile but tolerable in mild climate. In cloudy days or mild nights of summer, this and any black wear or blue will need no accessories. I think this one is more about the mood of the person than the weather. Leaves a good notion of private space (protection), even thought is very light and calm. Is like the color of the perfume. Deep, but light at the same time it should be beastly heavy. (one: ONE spray is enough.) The good taste in the combination of notes (how they equalize each other, bitter with sweet and heavy with airy) is really incredible. Is not an every day scent because seems very opulent (without being an *hole) . There is dominance either for male or female user, but also there's a positive trait with a hint of mystery. Like the perfume is saying "Don't cross this line I'm drawing around me, but you're welcome to have a chat. Let's talk about great things because I'm not in the mood for cheap talk or cheap people." Is protective and have great quality but also very light. Is a great illustration of silk. Not that overlay of patterns and colors like fine silk, but rather a dark color very well made with the best quality production. Is very sexy but not club and boozing sexy. Sexiness with consent and with a brain. Which might not be sexy for some, but these are definitely not the target for this perfume neither. I don't know how or why but it gets sexier the more it stays on skin. Like some "Suite 5000" sexiness. The Papyrus note adds a nice mystery to the power depicted with the oud note and the chamomile adds a nice bitter balance and calmness to the rose. Is really well balanced in every aspect of the concept. I have no idea about how the normal version is (or would be), but I think the regular version might be more predominantly floral notes.

Not surprisingly, the extrait concentration Oud Silk Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a powerhouse of a fragrance. Scent-wise, it is more of a traditional rose/oud pairing in the sense that it's not so sweet like Oud Satin Mood, but rather the rose and oud without the sweetness. The oud also factors more strongly than in Oud Satin Mood, as the rose is somewhat subdued, not very heavy or dominant at all. I've heard some argue that it's a fresh rose, and that might be fair, as it feels brighter and more fleeting, while still being dominated by the oud component. There's otherwise not a ton going on, apart from the woodsy undertones and use of chamomile, the latter of which does not factor in too much for me. It's mainly, simply, a rose/oud fragrance, and in that mix it can always lean slightly feminine, but as with Oud Satin Mood, I find it pretty unisex. It certainly works for women, but men who prefer rose (as I do) will be open to it. I can see why this might turn some off--the oud is harsh, as it usually is, and while the blend is good, not much rose is present to shield non-fans of oud from the oud itself. I prefer the sweetness of Oud Satin Mood but very much like Oud Silk Mood as well. I simply already own a very powerful rose/oud blend that I enjoy more: Armani Prive Rose d'Arabie. Still, Oud Silk Mood should be tried by fans of rose. $375 for 70ml is steep, even for an extrait, so only those who really love it will buy it, but it's certainly a bomb that merits some consideration if you do love it. 7 out of 10

Strong medicinal blast of oud with some floral touches.. the rose is not as prominent as in the satin mood line. This rose is quit more unisex to me and easily easily leaning more masculine. Fresh rose like l Homme rose. So you get a fresh spicey rose, and an oud which fades away in a hour and you are left with some rose, spice and fruity touches like an green apple even it’s not listed. This is not so thick, overly sweet or medicinal as other oud rose combos. This is a rose which makes the freshness interesting and deep.. an oud which makes it only thick. So I’m pretty sure even the name makes it to believe a oud scent, kurkdijans purpose was only to show how you can use those 2 beloved and famous combo, in a different way. This is art for me, but not a like as I find it very close to some other floral perfumes like aventus for her.. respect for what it is, but not my style. Longevity no issues like 12+ hours on fabrics, and a decent projection of 4/6 hours and then it becomes more of a skin scent. If you are looking for a killer oud rose combo go with oud satin mood extrait, that one is also less sweet as the OG is overpowering sweet and feminine for the gentlemen. This i would suggest if you like fresh spicey scents.. it’s quit different then normal fresh spicey scents!
