Lazy Sunday Morning

Oh, love of my life, my honeybee, sweetie pie, pear bear... Where do I even begin..... If I could marry this darling, I absolutely would. There is nothing lazy about this scent, in my opinion: It is clean, it is soft, but it sure works throughout the day to ensure you smell like *heaven*. Granted, you won't smell like an angel, but it's so gentle, you may come straight from above the clouds. White florals, but in the best way imaginable. Aldehydes? Yes, they're there, but nothing screechy. I would've thought the pear note would ruin it for me from the beginning, but dearest, oh my, you never disappoint. Sour only for the merest moment, only to leave in your soapy veil of a wake something lovely. I imagine falling in love smelling like this. And I guess I could say I experienced it: it didn't start out the best, but it warmed up to be some of the most memorable times in my life even now. It's one of the perfumes where the longevity doesn't upset me, because just like with my experience, I wished it ended just as sweet. It's like awaking to your lover's smile as you both lay under the duvets. The air is cold, but it's warm under the covers. They rouse from their slumber, only to smile sleepily at you. That snapshot is as if it's frozen in time. Maybe after that you get ready for work. Whatever, I have to stop deluding because this is a perfume review, not a story-telling competition or a perfume sales pitch :| Spraying on clothes is almost the same as spraying on your skin: it will bloom and come to the same conclusion. Only difference is that instead of it being flat and muddled like on fabric, it's warmer and reveals its complexities on your skin. I like it better that way, but I would still spray on my clothes to make sure I smell like it the entire frickin' day. Screw what anyone says >:') I believe the iris makes it give the idea that it's soapy. Not the usual handwash or something you'd use, but something on the more expensive side that you won't typically be able to reach for. It's almost a Jo Malone experience, but I'm not sure which exactly it could be. It just smells clear. I have a Shokubutsu Iris Bliss shower cream, but I haven't tried it yet, and I hope it can compliment this perfume. And for once, I don't hate the patchouli. This is such an odd blend, because I feel that I should hate the notes, but why do they all work so well in tandem? Nothing about this perfume allows me to hate it, DAMN IT! I'm getting frustrated over how this will keep me on it for the rest of my life. I still frickin' smile every time I catch a whiff of it. Ahem. If you don't like aldehydes, then leave this alone. This isn't dated by any means, because some aldehydes would lend to the "vintage" feel. The aldehydes in this only lends to its airy and bedcovers-from-the-morning-laundry sensation, like it had just been pulled into your house after some time in the sun. Not totally detergent-y, but not totally sunscreeny either. I imagine a wedding perfume to smell like this. I don't think this perfume could be limited to age. Gender? I don't even bother. I would see women wearing this, but I have no idea about men. Maybe you could try making it work with something green and blue to layer. Otherwise, I honestly don't care. You like this? Awesome! You don't? Move on. I get that you'll review this as you see the perfume, but god, some of you use the worst words imaginable. Turns off people who plan to try it. With that said, as a reminder, DO NOT BLIND-BUY, TRY IT WITH YOUR NOSE FIRST!!! Do not take a written review at full value until you try it. I'm just trying to describe it, and hoping you might arrive at the same conclusion. If not the same but you still like it, that's still a win in my books! Alright, enjoy. Or don't. In that case, I hope you come across something you like sometime soon.

Although I've been collecting fragrances for six years, since the age of 13, I have always done it with the sole purpose of smelling good, and therefore never took it very seriously. With that said, I have still seemed to gravitate towards two types of scents: aldehyde-heavy, laundry/detergent-like fresh fragrances, and heavy, boozy, tobacco/amber-heavy warm fragrances. I was told by many people before purchasing Lazy Sunday Morning that it fit neatly into the first group, with some people telling me it was the quintessential laundry-like fragrance. These people were setting me up for disappointment, yes, because this fragrance doesn't smell "laundry-like" at all to me, but I would've been disappointed without this expectation. I have three Maison Margiela fragrances in my collection, and while one of them isn't for me (Never-Ending Summer), none of them smell bad at all. Lazy Sunday Morning, at least for the first hour on skin, does. The opening is a strong mix of florals and leather that doesn't pair well at all. There is almost a "bad breath" quality to the smell. The longevity/performance is incredibly subpar, which to me was a gift because I didn't want to smell like a stinky leathery rose all day. It dries down into a slightly soapy, floral smell a few hours later, which is admittedly much more appealing, but the smell is almost too weak to discern at that point. Overall, I'd give this fragrance a 4/10. I was expecting to love it, so I got a 5ml decant of it instead of the 3ml decants I got for all the other fragrances I want to try, and I'm now wishing I did that with a different scent, because I can't see myself ever using this fragrance again.

Lazy Sunday Morning is exactly what the name promises: soft skin and fresh bed linen. From the first spray, it smells clean. Not sharp-clean like a disinfectant, but soft, airy, freshly-washed cotton. The aldehydes immediately create that “fresh sheets” effect. There’s a gentle pear in the opening that adds a subtle brightness without turning fruity. Very quickly, the heart becomes more noticeable: rose, iris, and lily of the valley. The rose is present but delicate, slightly powdery, slightly musky. The iris enhances that soft, almost cosmetic smoothness. White musk ties everything together, giving it that skin-like warmth. This fragrance feels intimate. It doesn’t project loudly. It stays close within arm’s length, sometimes even closer. It’s the kind of scent someone notices when they hug you. Longevity is moderate at best: around 3 to 6 hours on my skin. It fades gently rather than disappearing abruptly. Season-wise, this shines in spring and summer. It’s fresh, airy, and energizing. Perfect for relaxed mornings, cleaning your apartment, slow Sundays, or casual daytime wear. It leans slightly feminine because of the rose and powdery softness, but I genuinely believe it’s unisex. On a man, it feels clean and well-groomed rather than floral. Price-wise, it’s reasonable, especially compared to many niche houses. For what it delivers, it makes sense. Is it a safe blind buy? If you love clean, musky, “fresh laundry” fragrances, yes. If you want something bold and attention-grabbing, absolutely not. Rating: 8.5/10

This fragrance reminds me of my childhood home in Italy, freshly washed bed sheets hanging out to dry in the sun, and the very sweet pear juice I used to drink as a child. But above all, it reminds me of my mother. I am a man, and even though the fragrance is distinctly feminine, I love it very much. It is no wonder that the place this fragrance evokes is Florence, but it could just as easily be any home in Italy during springtime. A delight. Este perfume me recuerda a la casa de mi infancia en Italia, a las sábanas recién sacadas de la lavadora y puestas a secar al sol, y al dulcísimo zumo de pera que bebía de niño. Pero, sobre todo, me recuerda a mi madre. Soy un hombre y, aunque el perfume es claramente femenino, lo amo muchísimo. No es ninguna sorpresa que el lugar que evoca este perfume sea Florencia, pero podría ser perfectamente cualquier casa en Italia en primavera. Una delicia. Questo profumo mi ricorda la casa della mia infanzia in Italia, le lenzuola appena appena uscite dalla lavatrice e messe a stendere al sole, il succo alla pera dolcissimo che bevevo da bambino. Ma soprattutto mi ricorda mia madre. Sono un uomo e nonostante il profumo sia prettamente femminile lo amo moltissimo. Nessuna meraviglia che il luogo che evoca questo profumo sia Firenze, ma potrebbe essere benissimo qualsiasi casa in Italia a primavera. Una delizia.

I really love the smell of Lazy Sunday Morning. I know it’s marketed as a women’s fragrance, but to me it's unisex leaning feminine. To me it smells incredibly clean and fresh. It genuinely gives the feeling of waking up in a freshly washed bed, but amplified. Even though it’s considered feminine, I’d definitely wear it myself. The projection is good, but the longevity isn’t the best. I’d say you’ll need to reapply once or twice during the day. Because it fades relatively quickly, I tend to spray once more compared to stronger fragrances. It has a slight sweetness, but not too much, and it feels quite unique. Many fresh fragrances smell similar, but this one stands out with a different, softer approach. I think this works all year round, although it feels especially fitting for spring. Personally, I usually apply fragrances on my skin for the best effect, but with this one I prefer spraying it on my clothes as well, since that helps it last longer without losing its clean character. Considering the price of around €120 for 100 ml, I think it offers good value, especially if you enjoy this kind of soft, fresh scent.

Based on its notes & other’s descriptions of this fragrance, I expected this to be closer to something like Rosie by Rosie Jane or possibly a rosier version of something like 11 11 from Lake & Skye, however it’s completely different from either of those! I wouldn’t describe this as a fresh laundry smell, as it’s far more patchouli heavy than what I would normally categorize as a laundry scent. I would say the patchouli and aldehydes come together to make this scents effervescent but earthy, and the patchouli, rose, and lily of the valley make it lightly floral with a slightly green facet. It’s a beautiful, musky, lightly aldehylic, soapy, patchouli rose scent. I would say the rose is secondary to the patchouli, and the other florals don’t stand out that much. I’d say this is a very timeless scent that I assume takes inspiration from vintages :) it’s a very cozy scent that I appreciate wearing all year round, and it feels very versatile and elegant. Love this one!

Love this one ! Fresh soapy , super musky and yes very similar to lovely by SJP and the pink EDP by NR , and even more similar to Blanche by Byredo , because of the addition of aldehydes. the drydown is what I like about this the best, it's clean and fresh and powdery in the drydown. Like drier sheets or bedsheets I suppose. Pleasant and fresh ! This is my new clean scent perfume , in love ! It's elegant yet cozy , and super versatile because of that. You can wear this to any function and always be apropriate. I believe this will gather tones of compliments. Best review I read on this is by BOIS DE JASMIN , spot on. So if you have to blind buy it read her review and you will know exactly what it smells like. Also these scents aren't too expensive as some say. Don't forget it's 100 ml so it's same prices as Most perfumes for 100ml. Just a shame that they aren't sold in 50 ml I guess. At least there is the rollerball option.

When I say this is unisex, I mean this perfume is a physical reminder that our conception of male and female fragrances is constructed. I, a man, first started wearing this because it came in a replica sample pack, but liked it so much and got so many compliments that I decided to buy a bottle and wear it regularly. My girlfriend loves it, my family likes it, my friends have complimented me on it, strangers tell me I smell good at least once or twice a month. Despite the fact that it has a lot of floral notes typically perceived as feminine, I have yet to meet a single person who sees it that way. Nearly every person I’ve talked about it with showed genuine shock when I told them it’s feminine leaning. If you are a man, it’s a male fragrance by virtue of the fact that you’re wearing it. If you are a man, and you want to smell unique and sophisticated, I recommend something like this.

Clean linen , clean musk and a healthy dose of juicy rose. The rose kind of caught me off guard as I was not aware this would be so prominent on Lazy Sunday Morning. Could be considered More feminine for some due to that but it’s a clean scent first and foremost. Very good blend and composition, very clean fresh and totally wearable for almost any occasion except something more serious or formal. But even then some people would make it work. But keep in mind this really does call the lazy, cozy stay at home weekend days vibe. I think this is one of those every one highly interested in fragrance should try. It’s almost like a modern fragrance cornerstone already given how simplistic but how popular it is. I also feel this one really invoques the original Martin Margiela era house codes. Minimalistic , unassuming , a bit abstract and high quality.

I adore this. These aren't the notes I usually go for and this is perhaps the only "clean laundry" scent I've tried I can actually see myself wearing. It's nothing like most other ones. I don't get the soapiness from it and it has a definite presence. It's the first one I've tried that actually manages to replicate the smell of linen in summer. It smells, very specifically, like a summer home in Europe after the beds have just been made with sheets that have been passed down for generations. It smells like summer skin and there's something vaguely aristocratic about it. I don't think it has bad longevity, I just think it's such a soft smell that I can see how one would easily grow nose blind to it. Really want a bottle of this despite it not being my usual go to: perfect holiday or summer scent for the end of a beach day or a calm morning.

I was just looking for clean scents on the internet and saw this perfume. I fell in love with this scent the first time I smelled it. It's very clean, cool, and refreshing. It's the kind of clean scent that is icy cold, rather than warm and comforting. Its big downside is its performance. It is not long lasting at all and has poor projection either. So if you're on a budget, do not go for this expensive perfume since it has cheaper alternatives anyway (go check NR For Her EDT and SJP Lovely!) but if you really do love this perfume so much like I do then go for it! Personally I will always go back to this despite its performance. I'm lazy and I like sunday mornings, this scent will always be one of my favorites.

To my nose, this is a semi-sweet musky pear scent with a floral undertone or bubble gummy sweet scent. Smelling this up-close too much may makes you go nose blind because of the aldehydes. I would say this is like wrapping yourself in a thin, freshly washed sheet. Although it is definitely a female fragrance, I could totally rock this, especially on days that are slow and relaxing. FYI, I used 8 sprays of this, so your experience could be worse if you spray less. Projection is kind of decent for the first hour on clothes then it becomes a skin scent, while it stays very intimate on my skin the whole time. Longevity wise, on my skin and my clothes it lasted for about 4 to 6 hours, but you wouldn't smell much.

Edit: I am in love with it ! I think the first spray might have been too strong, but after a week smells amazing! To me, is like very expensive cream over clean skin, white sheets, bright room, cozy and comfortable, but suuuuuuper elegant and luxurious. I finished my vial in 2 days and now need a bottle, I wish it wasn’t so expensive but is worth it Is not bad , not great either. First spray is strong, masculine to my nose, then it settles and lingers closer to the skin. You can smell the white flowers (which might smell a bit dated) and the soapy cleanness. Smells like expensive white floral body cream, not bad, not my favorite either. I think I might reach out to it every now and then after a shower

I dont know if my sephora has a knockoff tester or swapped the scents by accident, but i cant agree with the washing powder comments, hell, even floral comments. This - to me - smells photorealistically like ironing clothing. It smells like warm cotton and that specific ironing smell. It is so nostalgic and beautiful but im scared to buy the full size because if it turns soapy on me i will cry. sometimes i come by that sephora just to smell that tester and leave. So comforting, zero soap, zero flowers, citrus, etc, just pure warmth. If i had a 100ml that smells like that tester i would use it up in a week. Masterpiece (i think, unless its soap and i have long covid or something)

soooo beautiful, but quite poor longevity as most replica perfumes tend to be, only about 2-3 hours on my skin with close projection (which is fine by me). I understand the comparison to Narciso Rodriguez For Her, but think this is an extended relative or cousin, not a sister and definitely not a twin. Its much cleaner and almost soapy sometimes (similar to replica bubble bath) but also reminds me of fresh bergamot which is lovely. makes me excited to have a big long shower knowing I get to put it on afterwards. I bought a (probably fake) bottle off ebay (i know i know) but it was stolen from my doorstep and I haven't had the heart to order another.

(tester) i love this scent! i was expecting it to smell really clean from the reviews, and it does, but in a soft and almost creamy way. the florals are lovely but fade fairly fast, and the dry down is sweet and a little musky. i can smell the pear, lily, and iris, but i didn't pick up as much rose as i was expecting. i don't mind that, though, because it smells great as it is. the smell reminds me of my grandmother's house (in a good way!), really clean and white, filled with vases of flowers, expensive bars of soap, and unlit scented candles. it almost doesn't smell like i'm wearing perfume, but like i naturally smell good.

Lovely. Light, airy, soapy florals, aldehydes, and musk, with a very slight fruity, but skin-like sweetness. Smells like snuggling up in granny's bed at half past 7 in the morning with the sun shining through the window, the AC blowing, and family downstairs who haven't risen yet, but you feel their presence all the same. Truly a childhood memory in a bottle. Weak longevity and sillage, but for this experience, I'm not even mad. Iconic MM Replica bottle, fine atomizer. I don't typically give MM the highest of high graces, but this is really an exception. Nostalgic, comforting, and an emotional beauty for the senses. 10/10.

Smells amazing. Very clean, fresh, and light. Like you showered the night before, with soap that smells like a white bar of soap, get into bed, and woke up the next morning. Fruity, floral, and musky, but not in a dirty way. It is insane how good this smells. A perfume for when you want to smell clean but don't want to smell like soap (Blanche) or like detergent (724). Would say though, it lasts for a long time on clothes, but it just projects very poorly so you can't smell it. This might be the best one out of the entire MM replica line. Smells good but not in a "perfume" way.

If you're looking to smell like laundry soap, go buy donna born in roma, or better yet a dupe of it. Ironically l love the original Donna and even that is more similar to lazy Sunday morning. This great "replica" is of French milled soap from the Victorian era. I will admit when I first smelled it from the bottle, l didn't like it. But it's a skin scent. It just goes so well with my chemistry. Or perhaps it was just polarizing for me like angel hah. Give this a fair shot. I love to wear this lounging in my bed on a Sunday morning! Gives me the illusion of luxury.

Returning to fragrantica for the first time in quite a while because I fell in love with this scent. I don't really find that it smells like laundry. It reminds me more of sleeping late and cuddling up to someone in a clean bed, like a warm skin scent mixed with soft sheets. There is obviously a white musk in it, but it's soft compared to what I associate with laundry or other musky scents. Thankfully it doesn't stray too far into that fuzzy new car type of scent for me. The sweetness in it also doesn't come across too floral. It's the perfect balance for me.

You know those newly washed towels they give you in spas, you take it in the sauna with you and in there, with that dry dry heat and the smell of hot wooden benches, that towels scent transforms into something clean but warm, somehow reminiscent of sunkissed bare skin.. This perfume is the closest it gets to that. It does ressemble Narciso For Her yes but Narciso’s peach keeps it from being laundry kind of fresh/warm/new. So I’m guessing it’s the lack of fruitiness, plus the aldehydes that makes this smell like a sun or heat dried towel.. just perfect.

There are two types of Margiela/Replica people: the ones who like the boozy, smoky scents and the ones who like the clean, soapy scents. I originally picked this up as it was one of three scents I enjoyed from the discovery set. It doesn’t feel like a skin scent as it’s quite fragrant in a cozy, floral way. It’s got some musk to it so I try not to overspray. ( If you’re seeking flower bombs, try Flower Market or Springtime in a Park by Replica. ) I feel this is discreet enough to wear in the office and of course, on lazy Sunday mornings...

This smells so nice! It's sweet and comforting and floral without being juvenile. The opening is a bit synthetic fruity (reminds me specifically of those roll on lip glosses from the 00s in the grape flavor), but the soapy-muskiness elevates it into something classy. The dry down is still floral and the warm-fuzziness from the ambrette and patchouli shine through. While it's not a pure laundry detergent scent to me, I can get behind the comments saying it's like "expensive detergent" haha

I loveeeee this. Such a perfect clean girl fragrance. Very wearable scent and inoffensive for most occassions. This perfectly embodies freshly washed bedsheets on a summer morning. I love wearing this. The pear and almost a lavender (which isnt in the notes) really shines through and the scent is not soapy. Definitly different from Bubble bath, which i also own. It lasts a long time on clothes and about 4-5 hours on my skin. I will definitly buy a refill when my 30 ml bottle is finished!

Surprised to see the negative reviews ! I find Lazy Sunday Morning to be a beautiful, fresh, soft and clean scent. I think he implication is a "sleeping in, in freshly laundered sheets" vibe. Definitely a clean bed linens scent. This also reminds me of a productive Saturday morning, bringing in clothesline linens that smell like sunshine and fabric softener and fresh air. I find this quite lovely, and each time I spray it, my family expresses their love for this pretty, sunny scent !

i don't understand how people don't like this one unless you hate laundry scents... it's so inoffensive, sweet, clean, pretty and on me, it smells like i just naturally smell great (a win!). it's a calm but not overly floral type of floral, i also get the sweet pear top note before it dries down more skinlike. unsure if i'd buy a full bottle due to the price and mediocre longevity, but i do love it a lot (it's battling with margiela bubble bath for my fav laundry/soapy scent)

Fresh, sweet and delicate it evoques the filtred sun rays on a clear morning. The rose and pear really shines through on my skin, so it does not feel like the standard clean fragance at all. It's also really natural and atmospheric so it can really match any time or season, reach for it for perfection in a cold but sunny spring day. The only cons I can find are the slight chem smell from the aldehyde and the moderate longevity. Really recommended for anyone!

Such a lovely realistic fresh laundry scent. a cozy and fresh scent. Doesn't smell overly synthetic to me at all, just smells like a cotton bedsheet or shirt that came straight from the clothesline after leaving it to dry in the sun out in the yard. I love scents like this. Will be reaching for this a lot especially in the summer. Wish it had more staying power tho especially for that price point bc its quite expensive compared to how long it lasts on me.

Lazy Sunday has ironically been my office scent for years now, it’s so inoffensive and makes me feel put together. It’s clean with intimate sillage which is necessary in an open office space. It reminds me of a crisp white t-shirt and perfectly fitted jeans. It doesn’t last all day, but that allows me to test other frags when I get home from work, so it’s become a positive. The only bottle of perfume I have ever fully finished.

Clean fresh dreamy. I wish my detergent smelled like this and I will definitely be spraying my bed before I crawl in. I LOVE this scent... it changed what I thought my preferences were as I haven’t typically been attracted to the clean soft types but I was wrong... this is IT... I’m that girl now. I thought that it doesn’t last long on skin or fabric at first but i used before bed and could smell it this morning.

Fresh - so, so fresh!! I can see how people might not like how 'synthetic' it smells but to me the appeal is the fresh laundry vibes. I don't find it to be too chemical. It's very nostalgic - reminds me of my grandmother's house and other clean, well-aired out buildings. Refreshing is probably the best word to describe it. I'm gonna have to return to this one and consider getting a full-sized bottle.

I agree with the last reviewer. Fresh laundered sheets and you’re having sex on top of them. This perfume smells kind of like my signature perfume Narciso Rodriguez EDT For Her which I’ve always said smells like sex in a bottle. I do like this, but I’m not sure for the price point it’s worth it. EDIT: I did end up buying a full size decanter of her. And she does indeed smell like my Narciso.

I got this as part of a discovery set . I absolutely love it and have since purchased a full bottle. To my nose it comes across as a sweet rose with aldehydes. Like clean laundry and roses . I like to wear it ironically on Sunday mornings but it’s appropriate for office, gym, etc. not a sexy night time fragrance . Clean, sweet and flowery. Just beautiful.

This is my favorite fragrance as of now, although it is close. Anyone can wear this, pretty much in any setting. I enjoy wearing this even if I am the only one who I intend to smell it. This will probably be a fragrance I'll refill, hopefully many times. I imagine using the bath products sold by MM along with using the frag may make it last longer.

absolutely beautiful, smells like taking a soapy bubble bath and wrapping yourself in a plush, freshly-washed white towel afterwards. the sweetest, cleanest, prettiest scent, a little more distinct and floral than your typical laundry smell, with the slightest hint of morning dew. has a more powdery dry-down than its initial spray which is nice ^_^

8/10 Opens very sweet, very lychee-like. Clean and cozy. Many say it smells like a laundry scent, and while I can see that, I think it's a bit sweet for it. The dry down really shows the white florals. Was my signature for a couple weeks, and got plenty of compliments. Occasion: day-time casual date, like a walk in the park.

love the pear opening! i see the similarities to bubble bath but maybe less soapy and more floral? pleasant. white florals, inoffensive and clean. it doesn't give insane laundry scent to me (ie. detergent or fabric conditioner) but definitely a lived-in kind of clean, fresh rather than sterilised if that makes sense.

I love this personally. It has like this hot metallic smell in the drydown that i dont smell in any other perfumes really. Personally i get compliments every time i wear this, it kind of screams on me but i tend to spray a bit heavy in general. its simple and works any season, but def more of a daytime fragrance

The most popular perfume in Japan for a reason. Clean and laundry like in a rich, luxurious way, but never too cloying or overbearing. Skin like and elegant... like heavy egyptian cotton sheets scented by the way the house and your skin smells. Divine, effortless and chic. Easy to wear every day.

I bought Sailing Day thinking it’s the fresh scent from Maison Margiela then I bought this and realized this is THEE FRESH Maison Margiela Scent. Something about it feels “familiar” when you use it... totally love it and definitely in the same line as JHAG Not a Perfume and Glossier You for me.

i love this alot i find 2 sprays of it lasting up to 8-9 hours on me This Fragrance. Calms me down i think it is really nice 🙂 I got these glossier you samples and i layer it with this and it lasts even longer 😲 This reminds me of lychees; i like lychee i also like laundry mmm

smells like jasmine & linen (ironing water) in a good way, lasts all day and then some, especially on clothes, and for me it doesn't have the very slight earthy notes that are frequent on some scents with this much pure/white musk in it (lattafa khalis musk comes to mind)

If you ever opened a box of arm and hammer powder detergent with the crystals and couldn’t stop sniffing it... you’ll probably enjoy this. In the opening, it’s a freshly opened box. In the dry down, it’s your clothes after they hang dry in the sun. I love this stuff!

This scent smells like a Sunday morning vaycay. You are at the beachfront. You get the ocean breeze through open window. The sheets smell of human, perhaps even a bit of human action. A masterpiece. A skin scent.
