Nature Insolente

I am quite surprised by the reviews. This was a blind buy and I was expecting a refreshing orange with an accompaniment of mint and melon. There is indeed a strong orange note in the beginning, but after a bit on my skin it transforms directly into the lily-of-the-valley and just stops there. I can’t even detect base notes, not to mention honey, melon and mint...I’m very cautious about white flowers and can tolerate them if they are in the background, but it’s not the case - here this note is as strong as the orange one. So if you are not a fan of white flowers I would suggest to try this out before buying. I guess, according to the reviews, not many people get this on their skin, but there is a possibility. My only hope is that it would change during the summer, but tbh this hope isn’t very strong. Longevity is poor, but in my case this is more of an advantage. EDIT: now, after a few months, it's completely different! It's indeed hyperrealistic orange with a bit of a grassy green-y touch and sometimes you can catch a subtle melon sweetness, and all hints of white flowers are gone for good. It's very cheerful and happy, and now I like it a lot. Longevity is still extremely poor though.

I discovered this brand through it being sold at the gift shop of a botanic garden I visited recently. I must admit, I was immediately reeled in by the image of the beetle, being such an entomophile. I gave it a sniff and thought, "this is nice" and decided then that it would be part of my collection. Sometimes its really that simple, and its liberating when it is such a chance encounter that solidifies the memory of a place visited; a souvenir to re-animate memories shared with someone I love. It isn't a complex or a haute couture sort of scent, but I am endeared to it for its unadorned simplicity. It starts with the sweet, juicy snap of honeydew melon, some bright citrus and a green herbal accent, with a heart of pleasant and practical muguet, rounded off with a grassy, woody base. It somehow reminds me of the 90s and being still relatively new to the world. That's all there is to it. It felt liberating to do it "this way," like the average person and not a ravenous fraghead. It's not a ground-breaking work of art, but it delights—and it holds memory and meaning.

One of my favourite fragrances of all time! It's the perfect fruity, summery scent with some quirky notes to top it off. It is hard for me to find fruity fragrances that don't develop a weird cloying undertone - must be something in my skin chemistry - so I was thrilled when this one stayed light and sweet! The orange notes are lovely and the mint keeps it interesting. My only wish is that it could last a little longer, but I suppose that is the downfall of all citrus and other bright scents. The bottle is also beautiful and I love having it on my cabinet.

I've been totally *loving* this in the hot weather this summer. It has something that feels like anise in the opening and then the melon mint combination can feel a little cucumbery (but not as much as carner barcelona salado, which is also lovely btw). Refreshingly without anything ozonic and not feeling really citrusy... lovely. My bottle is about 2 years old and the longevity is actually really good for a freshie. This is probably my favourite of the range...then bain di midi then poom poom. I've not tried arashi no umi yet though and I do want to.

Lemon melon iced tea with mint and honey on a cool-aired sunny day. It’s a really nice soft and fresh modern citrus and green scent, which isn’t the soapy type of green which is one of my favorite green scent profiles as well. Not the annoying kind of grassy green you get in 212 NYC Men or a freshly lawned garden. If I may add, the painted bottle art, pressurized atomizer, and recyclable cap are nice details to the overall presentation. Artistic and sustainable

Wow. I’ve tried soo many perfumes in my life and this makes my top five. You know when you’re hungover and really crave the juiciest of orange juices? This smells exactly like that urge. And that orange juice. But the amazing little twist here is the mint note softly lingering in the background, which makes this already fresh perfume even fresher! I’m absolutely amazed. Very impressed by this house so far ❤️

Soooo fresh! You definitely smell that citrus once you spray it, but it settles down nicely into a mint-melon led scent. A bit cucumbery for sure. The smell reminds me of skies clearing after heavy rain... perhaps because that was happening while I was buying this, but it fits :-) I just wish it lasted a little longer.

This perfume is quite similar to the discontinued Limon Verde by Guerlain. So happy I found it since I broke my bottle a couple of years ago.

What a difficult decision when you find a perfume that you love aromatically but that doesn't meet your expectations in terms of performance. And that is what I have found here and what makes me doubt whether a bottle of the perfume is worth it or not. Let's start with the aroma. FANTASTIC and WONDERFUL. A combination of mint melon and orange at the top, very citrusy and playful, with just the right amount of sweetness from the melo. But without losing the freshness. And there I thought... Wow! One of my great discoveries of the year...What a beauty! The minutes go by, the melon loses strength and a very subtle lily of the valley begins to appear, as usual, but very elegant. With its floral part but at the same time green and also fresh, an ideal flower for summer... And I kept thinking... Wow! I love it! I'm going to buy it and this summer I won't stop using it... But after half an hour or so I could hardly detect the fragrance on my skin. The melon had almost completely disappeared, as had the subtle mint at the beginning. I only found, and paying close attention, the lily of the valley very close to the skin and a woody base that was slightly synthetic and very very very soft... After approximately two hours the perfume had completely disappeared from my skin. And it is true that my skin is not usually very fond of the longevity of perfumes and that they usually last less for me than for other people but...not Two hours... And here come my doubts... Because of the smell, I would buy it with my eyes closed, but because of the performance, it's not worth it. If it were a niche for the use of these that cost €4 or €5 per milliliter, I am clear that I would not buy it, but of course, in this case the price is very good, even below many designer fragrances, and therefore, it is a perfume that allows you to over-apply and re-apply without excessive pain to your pocket... So I have to continue reflecting before deciding... What is clear is that, although it is sold as an Eau de parfum, its performance is more than an Eau de Cologne or even some body mist that lasts as long or longer... But with much worse Aromatics quality... Scent: 9 Longevity: 4 Sillage: 4 Versatility: 5 Originality: 8 Overall: 7

Orange juice freshie bomb. More like biting into a plump juicy orange, as opposed to a cup of squeezed orange juice, if that makes sense. Multi-dimensional citrus with very little sweetness (in a good way). Little hint of green. Energizing, uplifting, I adore it... BUT - I cannot smell a single note beyond 30 minutes. It's not as if it dries down to a subtler skin scent; it literally becomes undetectable. Very confused by the previous reviewer who mentioned projection after 16 hours, as I cannot conceive how that is possible. I am in the early stages of my fragrance journey, so others might be able to pick up more lasting subtlety than me. But still, I don't think my nose is that broken? I tried to extend it by layering with lotions, body oils, and other scents. I found that it immediately overpowered anything underneath, but after that 30 minute timer I was 100% back to my first layer. All top notes, with a rapidly fading middle and no base, in my opinion/on my skin. DOUBLE BUT - I knew all of this after sampling, and I STILL bought a full bottle 😅 I was hunting for a fresh or green scent, and Nature Insolente truly smells like pure happiness. Plus, the bottle alone is beautiful enough to justify the (affordable) price. I like to spritz right before I sit down at my desk, or start a project, for a little euphoric energizing boost. For that purpose, I don't mind the fleeting nature of Nature. (PS if you are lucky enough to get better longevity from this, I think it would also be wonderful layered with another subtle woody or amber base. Or maybe even something leathery!)

I have said it before, and I’ll say it again; I am a sucker for herbal citrus scents, and this is no exception. ‘Nature Insolente’ is not as sharp a citrus scent as others, but it is slightly sweeter and rounder thanks to the melon. The mint is prominent in the opening and gives a breath of fresh air that thee citrus and melon cannot do on its own. The scent evokes a feeling I had as a child – Eating melon outside on the terrace right before I run onto the trampoline and feel my hair fly in the sweet summer breeze. The melon is attracting bees and insects, and when I am done doing all my cool jumps on the trampoline and I sit down on my chair, I watch all the ants and beetles marching in the grass on the lookout for the melon rind I carelessly threw away in the bushes. The wind brings forth a light sea breeze and I am brought back to the reality of now. With all of that in mind I have to say that this is a lovely summer scent! I really like mint in perfumery, and it works really well with the slightly aquatic melon note. Though, there is some negative sides as well. The scent lasts for such a short time that I am never really able to grasp the base notes properly. The vetiver and cedar are only slightly supporting actors that you don’t even catch the name of. The musk is only a soapy bystander. Nevertheless, I will rate this one a like based on personal memories. The juice is good while it lasts, the price is pretty great and the bottle is cute, but for actual wear I would not buy it.

Nature Insolente flares open like a bright, impudent laugh—sharp citrus slicing clean through the air, chased by the cool, almost metallic snap of mint (a menthone-heavy mint, crisp and green, almost camphoraceous but not quite). It’s fresh, undeniably so, but not in the dewy, softly-washed way; this is freshness with a bite, something almost teasingly astringent, like the moment before a wave crashes cold against your skin. Warmth seeps in. Melon, lush and sun-ripened, spills its nectar over the sharp edges, turning zest into something rounder, silkier. It’s honeyed but light, a sweetness that hovers rather than sticks. And beneath it all, MM's signature DNA—Haitian vetiver, rich and grounding, its caramel earthiness curling around the fruity brightness like a lingering heatwave at dusk. Fresh, carefree, charming, yet, vetiver as a note always finds a way to overstay its welcome on my skin. Still I won't deny the beauty of the journey, even if I’m not staying for the afterparty.

I love the opening of this fragrance, the mint and orange (I get clementine rind) are the STAR for the first 5 minutes. Then, this dries down into a super quiet melon scent that sits close to the skin. It is actually a very beautiful composition, I just wish it performed better. Thought on the "cheaper" side (and you can find it on sale at Anthropologie right now), I struggle to ever say a fragrance that doesn't last is worth it. I think this is a great frag if you enjoy scents that aren't loud and are just a nice little experience... very office safe and a great spring/summer daytime scent. I won't be buying the full size, though.

This is a nice, citrus, vetiver melon scent. Very fresh, but performance is very poor for an eau de parfum. I also am not a fan of vetiver (but I don’t hate it) and I smell it so prominently in the fragrance. However I still really enjoy this fragrance (as I am picky and rarely like anything), but you have to really over spray to get an actual real performance out of it. It’s very a very intimate fragrance. I think if you spray like 12 times it’ll last for 6 hours but you won’t be able to smell it on you. I paid about $65 for it off of a site called 50-ml. Performance: 3/10 Scent: 8/10 Sillage: 1/10

The style of this scent really reminds me of a Aqua Allegoria perfume from Guerlain. I think it’s the combination of the brief but dominant citrus opening, followed by the pairing of the mint and an unripened melon. The overall effect is an interesting summer, holiday cocktail. The dry down is not natural—like many Aqua Allegoria’s are on my skin—but there’s no denying the intrigue. I sprayed this 16 hours ago on my wrist, washed up and slept, and the scent is still projecting.

Nice! Realistic juicy citrus blend, a touch of mint, and some definite grassy notes, although they are not listed. It smells like nature and a kitchen garden. I want to smell this around me instead of on me, though. The grassiness doesn't sit quite right on my skin. A little bit like lemongrass. Love a good mint fragrance, though, and if they made this one in a candle, I would dig it.

Nice fruity floral freshie. I get a lot of green bitter citrus followed by sweet melon and lily of the valley ending in a sweet musky scent. Not long lasting at all but I like it. Sillage: 2/5 Projection: 2/5 Longevity: 2/5 Leans feminine

The opening is juicy and refreshing, it is really like cutting lemon and orange open. Soon the sweetness of the melon comes into play. it gets more and more fruity. It is clean and refreshing, perfect for summertime.

The top notes is incredibly good, fruity and refreshing, but it went really fast; then the drydown is quite synthetic and it does not last long too. What a pity for the extremly good top notes :(

A fresh orange / mint fragrance. Perfect for summer. Versatile and unisex. Very easy to wear and like. Very good value. It is a perfume for all ages!
