Coffee Bomb

My second sampling of Maison Tahite is Coffee Bomb, one of a quartet of 2022 coffee-themed releases, and like Café Gourmand, it’s really a blend of notes, not coffee-dominant, but coffee is certainly more present in Coffee Bomb than in Café Gourmand. Still, Coffee Bomb, while having some black coffee, too has prominent notes of rose and black pepper, a really fun blend that, for obvious reasons, reminds me somewhat of Café Rose in the Tom Ford Private Blend collection. There’s comparatively a little more coffee in Coffee Bomb, though, with the notable pepper note as well. There are a handful of other notes—frankincense, iris, vanilla, patchouli, etc.—that may factor in, but for the me, the coffee, rose, and pepper trio tell most of the story. Overall, I really like this. It has a Montale/Mancera-esque quality of well-used rose and pepper notes, which create something special with the coffee. There could certainly be a Montale fragrance with a similar-enough composition but none come to mind immediately. Coffee Bomb, like the rest of the entire house, is priced at $115 for 100ml in EDP concentration, a fairly modest price for niche perfumery. The discovery set is currently out of stock at Luckyscent, but individual vial samples are still available. 8 out of 10

Too peppery top, the flowers add a grandma pot pourri vibe and the base ingredients make a hairspray accord. Sadly, because otherwise the scent is good

I initially hated the coffee note. I agree it’s the smell of your clothes after you get off shift at a coffee shop. Not terrible just not something I would ever want in a perf. I like that the coffee seems to completely dry down which was a relief making the rose a pleasant surprise. I get NO oak moss as someone mentioned but who knows maybe I’m just not there yet. Overall I call this one an acquired taste and IF you vibe with roses and you’re NOT looking for a creamy sweet coffee gourmand then you might like this. Very non edible gourmand which IMHO saves it but I also get why people would not like it.

This is a step into a coffee shop, but this time you’re waiting in line behind a sweet old woman. The pure black coffee is wafting all around you, but the powdery perfume she’s wearing makes an appearance in the dry down. As you get your order and take a sip, you can still smell her from across the shop, but now there’s a slight floral note, like someone (perhaps their lover) brought one of the baristas a bouquet.

Jasmine, milk, coffee opening in that order. A soft coffee-flavored glass of milk sprinkled with earthy spices, adorned with an airy nosegay, lightly chocolate drizzled. The coffee gets stronger as it dries down and dark to the point of having a burnt woody undertone. Moderately soft projection for 2-3hr, longevity 8-10hr. The coffee is there, but it's no bomb.

A quite nice aroma, but lacks intensity

I can’t see this being foody as the name would suggest, so it's NOT a gourmand. Everything about this reminds me of perfumes for the ELDERLY where they have this dusty rose smell, mushed with iris and the chemical old people release that give them that distinct smell. TACKY and smells like an antique makeup box. You'd have to be a SUCKER for iris and vintage scents to like this. Don't buy this if you're after a gourmand. Not palatable at all. 3/10

This perfume is mainly about Oak moss, Oak Moss with pepper and then far away perhaps a little old coffee/ or whats left from it, maybe more a coffeebeantree. I also smell Rose, but indeed as mentioned; like a dried rose from a potpourri box. If you didn't knew it had something to do with coffee you wouldn't smell the coffee but you would rather smell a sharp Oud - wood and a dried rose. Note This is definitely not a vanilla creamy coffee bomb.

not a fan, the musky, old coffee smell mixed with the pepper notes just makes me smell like i came home from a shift at work. this fragrance is all the bad parts of coffee smell

Coffee bomb—for the first few minutes its a nail polish bomb actually, with hints of hair spray. Works its way to what it would smell like if you spilled coffee on wool and sniffed that. Warm but musty. 20 minutes in it goes full throttle with flowers—they all enter the room boisterously and they dismiss the coffee rudely. Coffee skulks away, insulted at being displaced. I pretty much checked out after that...

I know the fragrance community is trying to do away with this term, but truly? It's an old lady fragrance. If that's what you're looking for go right ahead, but I personally hate this... So bitter and harsh. Don't take it from the Pink Sugar wearer tho.

A sugary, sticky coffee spilled over a metal construction. A vague smell of rose scented lotion on hands. Sharp saffron. Noise of drilling in the city. Bitter, wet oakmoss. Moisture. Another whiff of metal. A headache. A stabbing, sharp pain. A rogue rose cyphre gone wrong. Can someone show the saffron the door? Who in their right mind thought this would be a good idea?? Vaugely similar to sospiro Vivace, with the coffee note mimicking the one in kerosene Followed. The saffron is low quality, sharp and comes off very metallic to me. Not a gourmand at all, not even from afar - simply a bad cyphre.

After the very brief watery coffee in the opening which completely dissapears within minutes, this fragrance turns into a Montale fragrance, smells very similar to many Montale fragrances that share the same Saffron DNA such as Aoud Red Flowers, Aoud Damascus, etc.

o m g this takes me right back to the hair salon I used to go to growing up. Smells like hair products and hair bleach to me. Very nostalgic but I wouldn’t wear it. Please tell me if anyone else can relate to this.

Got the whole collection and this one is my least favorite. Smells like you used used windex cleaner to clean the dried coffee stains in your coffee mug. I’m sticking to the others in the collection

open very iris heavy then slowly becomes rose and olibanum - i enjoy the opening and drydown and not the heart. The way to patchouli develops in the heart is very astringent and pissy to me.
