Ziryab

You open the Ziryab perfume on fragrantica, look at the pyramid of notes and exclaim somewhat bored: offff, another middle east perfume! Ha, ha, ha, the ultimate trick!!!! Dear fraghead, it is a masterpiece that you rarely find these days marked by generic copy-pastes. I think you can count the perfumes with tulips on the fingers of one hand. But who thought that on a wooden pedestal made of the most expensive cedar and oud, dripping with the most precious saffron, you can place a fragrant tulip, full of dew and with a slight salty, marine tinge? And this whole ensemble to smell absolutely unique and fabulous? Probably Majda herself or some genius perfumer with whom she worked. I give it 10 out of 10 and lots of love, love, love!!!! PS. Bottle its a jewel!!!

I blind bought this after reading 'mmmmgood's review (below). You my friend, paint a very accurate olfactory picture. Yes this is signature scent worthy. Ziryab doesn't scream, but is loud & long enough for all those around you to appreciate too. Tulip 'n oud...who woulda thought... Magic.

I can't even put into words... this is my favorite i have literally ever smelled... and i can't find it anywhere again. So i am spraying for special occasions only... i am so scared to run out of this... I just look at the bottle and treasure it.

I don't know why, but after a couple of mins it smelled just like an apple cake, very appetizing, although not too sweet at all. All enfolded in a watery vibe.

Water lily and saffronic mineral water. I am confused between lily and tulips! Tulips is known for it's specific certain smell which i can't sense it clearly here. It's a combination of water lilies and tulips with watery saffron. I can't really detect oud in here as much as the floral. Fresh floral cuts mostly. Nice.

I deleted a previous post about Ziryab, because I threw it in a package deal for a swap with someone on this site..thinking that what I swapped it for, was better, albeit totally dissimilar. (Arquiste/El) Needless to say, I sorta regretted giving it away because I didnt realize how much I missed it until I had NOTHING in my collection that remotely smelled like it. And worst of all, it became super popular after the swap...and I couldn't find a bottle of it ANYWHERE. I tried checking other sites from other countries, but was leary of how legit they were. As I've said before about this stuff, its sig' scent worthy..and Ive yet to run across anything that smells like it. If I had I wouldve bought it a long time ago. A masterpiece fragrance.

Thi la reminds me of Bond no 9 New York amber. Or maybe this came first and New York amber came second. I don't know. I like New York amber, and I like this - I don't get tulip at all. I get rose and amber. It's a decent Rose amber unisex scent. Probably best suited to evening wear.
