Purple Flowers

I was uncertain about this when it arrived. I thought it leaned a bit unisex although it is marketed for women. However, after wearing Purple Flowers for a few times, I discovered that it moves from woody to floral, to a bit airy and a tad sweet. It is quite an interesting fragrance and the performance is fantastic. Every single time I wear it I get a compliment. People smell me before they enter the room/my space with just 4 strays. It's amazing as when you are wearing it, it feels like an intimate scent, but it actually projects well. I'm very impressed by the longevity and sillage. Also, on the skin it smells different to in the air. On my skin, it's a bit woody, but in the air, it's quite sweet, smelling of fig and vanilla with floral. I don't think this will be for everyone, but the more I wear it, the more I love it.

first of all thanks to my fellow reviewer Bond Creed guy...i dont know his name but he gave me a shout out and asked me to try this..and was willing to even ship me a sample...such a generous guy...i finally got it..wore it all day...trying to remember what is it reminding me of...then just now i remembered...cartier declaration dun soir...not exact same but definite similarities.this is less sandalwood and more vanilla at the base, but the rose is like dds, creamy floral that lingers for a LONG time.this is another beautiful release by mancera...gorgeous bottle...if you are in to spicy florals which is mysterious try this one...lasts even longer than the cartier...you expect that from mancera 10/10 for every category or smell, performance, sillage and projection, not to mention...value :)

Got a sample. Doesn't read potpourri on me. I get lots of rose/woods, with a healthy helping of ambergis & musk on the drydown. Love the sweetness from the pear & amber. The vanilla hardly shows up, which is fine. The longevity and sillage are more than moderate on me. And depending on the number of spritzes used, it can be worn all year round, day or night. I love everything about it. The 4th Mancera I found to love after sampling so many that don't work for me.

This smells so good I can't stop sniffing it. At first it's very heavy on the cedar for me, and then it turns into a sweet, jammy, spicy rose/floral/woods smell. It is feminine and woodsy and delicious. It has good sillage (a friend commented she could smell it) and lasts for hours. By the end of the day it reminds me of an amber oil I bought at a yoga studio once. I love that it's juicy, woodsy, and warm.

Ahhh....Forgot I had PF in my collection and decided to wear it today. It is so pretty and would make a great transitional fragrance between seasons. Opens up with a cedar/woody note, but then settles with a good dose of fig and rose. How delightful! Sillage is great and longevity is exceptional!

This is a more genteel Mancera. The other ones I have tried have been very "in your face", but this is slinky, secretive. It is semi-sweet, very lovely. For a woman who doesn't need to prove she is delicious because it's too obvious to be stated! Love this scent.

Very nice and simple, but powerful patchouli -rose combo with a hint of pepper and more refined drydown. Beautiful bottle.

This is freakin amazing!!!Longevity is out of this world (24 hours +)The scent is to die for.

Mancera Purple Flowers for the evening of 26 May. Went in with about 12 sprays. Opening was very loud immediately classic Mancera intensity. A strong rose-vanilla push right from the start, sweet and floral but with a dense, almost syrupy weight behind it. Not subtle at all, it filled the air around me quickly. Picked up my girl and got a compliment straight away she said I smelled nice. That set the tone for the evening and I could feel the confidence from the scent right away. The vanilla and rose combination sits very present on skin, very noticeable in the air with consistent projection. Through the mid phase it stayed floral-heavy with that sweet vanilla running underneath, smooth but still quite bold. I kept catching it off myself constantly, especially when moving around it never really sat close to skin. In the drydown it shifted more powdery and slightly old-school floral. My girlfriend did mention it smelled like an old lady at that stage, which is fair for how it develops, but it didn’t really take away from the performance or enjoyment. Projection was strong from start to finish, especially in the first hours definitely fills space easily. Overall, very loud rose-vanilla floral with strong performance and a noticeable drydown change.

Herbal, flowery rose with a surprising amount of vanilla in the scent bubble as it dries down. The rose is the star of the show, it's flowery, bright and fresh. Pepper and mandarin are subtle accents to the flower, and the fig tree, patchouli, nutmeg and ceder work together beneath it with some musk, as the herbal aspect. I get no ginger though sadly, and ginger tends to be quite prominent and delicious on me usually. Dry down took about 4 hours to get that vanilla going. On skin (inside my shirt) the fragrance ends up as a paired down version of the opening, and it smells quite masculine. The scent bubble though (what I get if I'm not being weird and huffing inside my shirt), becomes very warm and vanillic, with just a little rose, and it smells much more feminine. Moderate sillage from 3 sprays, greater if more but you risk suffocating everyone within 10 feet if you over spray. Good for spring, and those who like ambiguously gendered fragrances. 10h+ longevity, likely more tbh but I usually get bored of it by then and wash it off.

Really good fragrance! Smell a lot of pepper in the beginning. After a few hours the pepper takes a backseat and you smell amazing cedar, rose and patchouli, on steroids (thanks to the musk I guess). This is the heavy version of Lalique Perles de Lalique. Very comparable, but the Mancera one is a nuclear beast compared to Lalique. Because I have Lalique I wouldn’t buy one, otherwise it was already in my collection. So if you smelled perles de Lalique once and you like the vibe, than buy this one. Amazing stuff 8/10

Definitely get a potpourri vibe- but in a good way. Jammy rose sweet patchouli. Don’t get any purple flowers though. Was expecting violet/ iris - Was a blind buy - like it well enough.

Rosy peppery musky perfume.. nice and uplifting . I can say that Purple Flower and Gold Incense are the only Mancera I like !

It is just tooo much rose, very similar vibe with jasmin rose fromw mancera.

The Drydown remind me slightly jubilation men amouage vibes.

Why did they discontinue this :(

One of the worst scents (if not the worst) from the house of Mancera... It was a blind buy.. Unfortunately.. - Longevity 10/10 (10+ hours on my skin) - Projection 10/10 - Presentation 10/10 (lovely purple sea through bottle, amazing) BUT THE SCENT IS THICK AND AWFULL... It smells like granny.

not sure what about this one makes me a bit queasy. It is a nice, jammy rose, but the oud and patch, not for me. Up for grabs if anyone interested. 120ml 90% full

A tad feminine, the purple smell of slightly juicy mandarin and tangy sweetness of fig tree note, mixing the dark sweetness of fig with the green mildly sour stem note. Pepper is a background note and is phased out by a Heavy Jammy or tart rose note in the mid drydown. The Patchouli is notable and sweet, adding to the jammy sweetness of the rose to push it on the feminine sweetness that over time I've found cloying. The Ceder note adds some depth with a hint of dark spiciness. The base notes of white musk and vanilla, white musk being more prominent about 65/35 Between them, but the jammy rose is still at the forefront of the projecting notes through the base. I'd go as far to say that between the jammy rose and the rest of the notes of the perfume as a whole. Its Jammy sweet pink Rose 65% The rest 35% I was expecting more fig, although I'm not a big fan of pink rose scents, I like Geranium and white creamy florals, spicy rose (Jean Paul G Ultra Male). But this rose is very feminine and sweet. I blind bought it but I think I'd use it in cold weather in the daytime, as the sillage trail is great and from a distance it's a smooth rich powdery floral clean rose scent. It smells more like light sweet purple flowers rather than the dirty smoky odly sweet purple rain floral I was expecting. I was expecting a Prince purple rain smoke cloud, that's what I imagined the smell of purple as, a dark and seductive blend, but this misses that mark. Purple flowers dries down very quickly through its stages until its linear base is A jammy rose Powdered with sweet n sour fig tree Vanilla and white musk.

The top notes create a spicy accord that's reminiscent of a Christmas style potpourri. Underneath the Mancera style rose shines through with a deliberate nuance. The dry down: both of these layers blend together into a sort of spicy/powdery rose; you'll get wiffs of the individual layers from the silage throughout the wearing however. Overall, it does remind me of a Le Labo blend, somewhere between The Noir and Rose 31. Addressing the commenter below who experienced a 'vanillac mess' as the dry down - the dry down is a little muddy, there's a lot going on - but the silage really smells much better - as long as you don't huff the juice straight up its really really nice. (which seems to be quite common from Orientals).
