For Him

Mandarina Duck - For Him (2022) An Invictus Aqua clone, with a little bit of CK One Summer 2013 thrown in. It smells great, but only last about 3-4 hours unfortunately. Good for running summertime errands.

Smells like All laundry detergent in the open and Invictus on the dry down. For $20 u can't go wrong.

Mandarina Duck just released two new fragrances. If you pay attention to the bottle, you will see that they are mirrors for her and for him. The brand has chosen the same bottle of Mandarina Duck for the bottle for him with the cap moved to the right side, while it has forced it to the left side for the bottle for her. An unfortunate choice dictated by gender for the colours, pale pink for her and pale blue for him, too traditional and conformist to my flavours. For the feminine juice, Mandarina Duck relied on Mathieu Nardin’s nose, a skilled perfumer that created, amidst the others, a few niche fragrances for Kilian, Harris Miller, and Perris Monte Carlo. Let’s go through the cyan juice. The fragrance wraps me with a fresh fougére accord, manly, dewy, and with a marine cut. There are minty spices, slightly sour and a tad sweet and fruity, but not overly sweet. The Italian tangerine oozes among a blast of balmy green cardamom and an unidentified mix of fruits. On my skin, the minty green pods overwhelm the other notes; therefore, isolating every fruit in the mixed salad is pretty challenging. Of course, I get something aqueous, but the musky and leathery character is pretty straightforward. I let the balmy and slightly acid fruity nuance tone down, and the redolence of dewy green leaves explodes. The violet leaves have an unmistakable dark, earthy, and mouldy style. The aroma is so strong that it dominates and nearly obfuscates the blue lavender and the pristine orange blossom. If the lavender adds a fougère touch to the heart, the citrus flowers are barely perceivable to my nose. Orange blossom is commonly a dominant note but is barely imperceptible here. Maybe, it needs more time to familiarise and detect. The marine aspect rises, glorious. I can almost touch it; it is here and comparable to the smell of the air and the splashes of sea water hitting the rocks. The overall scent is persistent and still present, vivid, and loud. Compared to its feminine counterpart, for Him is stronger. When the dry-down comes, it is leathery and, at the same time, woody with musky undertones. It is a semi-dirty leather with musky and earthy facets. Cistus reign, supported by dark musk and earthy patchouli. The oceanic vibe is still lingering. Recalls of carefree days spent walking on the beach near the rough sea, the scent of the ocean that fills the air and the splashes of water that rise from the waves when they crash on the shore. Ultimately, albeit the scent is not groundbreaking and similar to much other fresh cologne, it is intense and vigorous and smells like sea and freedom infused with wellness and outdoor living. A summer scent, no question about it. Both days and nights are the right time for wearing it. For Him has an average sillage and projection, while the longevity is above average. As for the for Her, I found it on sale for just 15€, so an absolute steal with no room for complaints, just plenty of compliments. I base the review on a 100ml bottle I have owned since June 2022.

A great cheap fresh summer fragrance. Pretty generic but will still get compliments. Lasts 6 hours with prety moderate sillage but still worthy of a pickup. Good to have in the collection and a safe blind buy.

Its ok. As a teenager this was my first ever fragrance and ive been collecting ever since. Am now 14 and will tell you this aint it. Its nice for summer to be just fresh you know. But other than that no big deal talking about this one
