Marbert Homme

Superb fragrance. Woody, green, spicy, musky. A child of the 80s but never too pushy or cloying. Smells like the enterior of a 1988, brand new Audi 100. The embodiment of a "Made in Germany" scent. Wonderful performance, unbeatable price. Special surprise that the dry down however is very similar to AD by Alain Delon. Marbert Homme is superb in every aspect.

Another cheap Marbert fragrance,but only in the price,i must say that they are very ingenious in creating something else.Here we have a sweet fresh and a bit flowery scent that is most versatile and a good performer,Galbanum is one of the most strong in this scent.Very 90's smell.

Love,love it. I'm a woman but i really love to wear this oriental sweet, woody fragrance. It's not loud in your face but warm and cozy and the longtivity is very good. It is manly but because of the warm, cozy and slightly sweet smell wearable for women also. I enjoy it very much.

Marbert Homme is so good! I blind bought it(vintage black bottle). It resembles One Man Show, but I find it smoother and better overall. I pick up woods, spices, moss, animalics, and it has a subtle sweetness.

Mossy green with an animalic base. Marbert Homme to my nose is the best thing Marbert released. I'm not sure if this has been discontinued but it's a must have for the fans of vintage masculines. 9/10

A truly nice hidden gem, starts with an One Man Show's vibe, becoming softer as It dries down. Heart notes come with a sweet and slightly spice smell that resembled me vintage Jacomo de Jacomo (not the harsh clove reformulated version). After some more time, an slightly earth patchouli smell joins the party resulting in an oriental old school concoction.

Ou I love this, but I feel it does not project from my skin, I feel it should have more sillage. But so fresh green and stable. I think my ratings for Germany just went up. Also this bring my memories from Germany 20 years ago when I was in Cologne or Köln, this actually smell like Germany in many ways. Scent 4/5 Sillage 2/5 Gender man 5/5 Price 5/5

One of the others, Uomo, has evernia prunastri on the ingredients list. Homme does not. Homme is green and has a bit of Irisch Moos and a quite odd blend. Kind of unusual vibe for a so called "chypre".

Remain a great scent even reformulated !

Tried this joy juice yesterday because of all the good, the bad , and the ugly I heard about it. I own One man Show Oud edition and it does have some of that leathery, retro vibe going on. I cannot wear my OMS any more since it makes me a bit nauseas at times. Same with this frag. To me it is a dirty fragrance that really reminds me of the 70's/ not like cigarette smoke, but reminiscent of what a regular smoker might wear. I literally felt like I was transported back to the 70's when I smelled this! If that's your thing and you can rock it, then go for it. For me it just instills bad memories. But I think ti would perform well in all types of weather. I imagine it would be the preferred fragrance of a private detective who is going through a divorce.

I have a different bottle than the one pictured above. It is 75 ml, with a built-in sprayer (no cap that is supposed to come off before spraying), and it says 87.1% Vol on the box. I think the original is also 75 ml and looks similar to mine but is 80% Vol. Mine says distributed by Selective Beauty, which seems to have been in business between 2000 and 2010. My guess is that my bottle is from the early 2000s. Tree moss is listed on the back, but not oak moss. In any case, this is in the One Man Show/Krizia Uomo range, and there seems to be some castoreum present. I think this one is the "friendliest" of the three, by today's standards. However, it smells reasonably natural, though it's quite rustic (but not sharp). I place it above the latest One Man Show formulation I've tried but not as niche-like as the vintage OMS. I'll have to give it a full wearing before comparing it to Krizia Uomo. UPDATE: A regular wearing confirms the earlier dab sampling. However, I'd say that this is a little muskier than I thought as well as possessing of hint of something almost gourmand (but don't expect more than a tiny drop of sweetness in this concoction). In any case, I think this one could function for some people as a good substitute for the original Davidoff scent, though that one is more complex, stronger, and richer. MH is much gentler and smoother than Krizia Uomo (at least the formulation that I have), though with less note articulation, but the smell itself is similar.

Remember in the 80's when you were a kid, and your dad would take you downtown to the state building to do business (job seek, file for unemployment, pay taxes....etc..)? You'd always walk past those old black cylinder trash cans with the ash trays on top that had the metal arrows going down the sides. Then you'd stop at the glassed in smoke/break area, and dad would get a coffee, and he'd get you a snack out of the vending machine that had the wood paneling going down the front. This is what Marbert Homme is for me. It's the mature, masculine smell of getting shit done. A serious, no nonsense black and gray kind of smell. Clean but cigarette ashy. It makes me wonder if this scent was what the set of PBS's Masterpiece Theater smelled like in 1987. All that said, I love it! There's nothing for kids here. If you're looking for fruit splashing in water, you'll despise Marbert Homme. However, if you're 40ish and up, and enjoy offerings like Narciso Rodriguez For Him and Encre Noire, but want something a little more off the beaten path, this could be just what the doctor ordered. I blind bought the 2.5 black vintage bottle. Had to respray at mid day, but overall a great under the rader gem! 9/10

My (vintage black bottle) of Marbert Homme just arrived. Immediately, I am reminded of Bogart One Man Show, only not as dry or piney. (Specifically— Marbert Homme's opening is very much like the far drydown of OMS). Lingering in the background is a sweet, spicy, incense-like accord reminiscent of another Bogart fragrance—the 1992 Witness. But the most remarkable thing is its "German car smell". I thought CGV's reference to a 1988 Audi 100 interior was a metaphor—but no, Marbert Homme is quite literally the smell of a vintage German car interior. And strangely, it works. So, if you can imagine 85% One Man Show, 5% Witness plus 10% Audi, that bizarre cocktail will give you a fair approximation of how Marbert Homme smells. Of course, beyond that, MH has its own special mojo going on. A quirky and enjoyable scent.

Nice pickup for a cheapie. Opens like a forest oriental smell, and 15 seconds in it changes. Kind of dank in the opening. Remains dank, but reminds me of a tobacco pine kind of fragrance, which neither of those notes exist. Knowing the notes, I do definitely pick up on the galbanum. There is also a hint of sophistication in there. It's average, and nothing to write home about. I'd say for cold weather only. Interesting way to spend 20 bucks, but it also affected my heart which for me is not a good thing..

UPDATE: I recently acquired a bottle that looks like the one pictured but the glass is transarent (100 ml) - I think it's' the most recent formulation. This seems smoother than the all black 75 ml bottle. It's a powdery green/ambery scent that has great balance. Though perhaps not as strong as the all-black bottle, this one doesn't get cloying, as it's not as sweet. And I don't get any obvious synthetic or chemical quality either. It is llike a green, non-floral flanker of vintage Third Man by Caron!

Just got this and I was interested due to people saying it was similar to one man show, it smelled nothing like that I got no pine at all no green scents. This smells like a less expensive Chanel pour Monsieur EDP and also like Sergio Soldano White. I’m not saying it’s poor quality I just personally do not care for it since I have many things that smell similar. But it’s more of a sweet scent less of a green scent to me at least

Applepie in a bottle, I wish I could drink this stuff. Warm and cosy scent, perfect for colder weather with a fireplace-atmosphere. Sophisticated, reminds me of Obsession for men, although this is more classy. Very recommendable, even more because it's not expensive. Only the bottle could have been a little more classy, but that said this is a real chem.

Just slightly green, mossy-woody fougére, in the mood of a mix of Versace L'homme and Bogart One Man show. It's too synthetic and too sweet at dry down. It's not my favourite from the brand. If you have Versace or Bogart OMS, you do not need this.

Initial opening as AD Iquitos. Strident, citrus, spicy ....... Then, as the German funds are still coming. Great invention of the 80s! A bit of older people. Barber evokes the atmosphere of houses ...........

Good quality for low price.Oriental scent with good longevity and projection.Not for old.Not aftershave or barbershop smell.

Gypsy, some of these Marbert men should be on your wish list for the new year!! AMAZING german house!!
