Skunkily funkily OHHLALA! Animalic tuberose sings so loudly it nearly shouts! How wonderful this is, with backup singer spicy ylang and a bass line of equally funky musk and moss. Just a whisper of ambery vanilla. On par with Mila Schon Couture and Nikki de St. Phalle in terms of personality and boundary pushing. Close relatives might be Chloe (Lagerfeld) and Rogue Chypre-Siam. Don't miss this one if you love late 20th century chypres. Wow wow wow.

Ohhhhh.......my sweetheart Persephone gifted me a LARGE bottle of this as a surprise yesterday!! I just CANNOT believe it! I have been wanting this one in big for AGES!!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH for being sooo generous!!

This perfume is EXTREMELY well done, it is a chypre green, deep feel to it. Must have for the lovers of classic perfumes!

I blind bought this beauty on my journey exploring late 80's early 90's perfume. I've been on a nostalgia trip interested in anything and everything that existed around the time of my early childhood. I probably should just discuss this in therapy, but instead I will continue to buy these beautiful old bottles hoping to transport myself into the woman I imagine I'd be then. Now, I just had to have this little blue bottle and have been waiting for the right day to wear it. It's cold and rainy here today and even though my outfit screams more CK One, I thought today's the day. First whiff out of the bottle was an odd chemical concoction. A little masculine. On my skin it was loud and brash. I even got a whiff of the dreaded cat pee smell. It's just so heavy and I know that's how perfumes were then and I'm more of a fresh citrus girl so you're probably wondering what right I have to even judge this. I'm not sure, but here I am! I ran to rinse it off and it's still pretty prominent, but the dry down is interesting. I'm still getting a lot of amber with some scratchiness of the musk. It's warm and I can't say that it's a terrible scent. I've even had to edit my review because it really grows on you. It's got such punch compared to all of my floral/freshies. It's warm and fiery and I think I might love it even if it makes me mildly nauseous. I've always had issues with perfume, so this says nothing about the juice itself.

Rich and beautiful, BdC is a delight to wear. I love the resins which give sweetness and depth to this unusual perfume. Strangely there seem to be notes not listed on the pyramid: I swear there's honey as well as black tea in the composition. In any case, BdC deserves more attention. It's got good lasting power with moderate sillage, which makes this strong yet soft perfume work safe. And as others have noted, the flacon is lovely.

This is a beautiful and interesting aromatic and slightly sweet tuberose fragrance. It's well executed. Oakmoss, tuberose and something sweet like mandarine orange swirls around in the middle. I'm not sure about how wearable it is for me but I'm quite in love with it. And the splash bottle would be the most beautiful piece on my vanity. Have you seen the splash bottle? No? It's beautiful!

what a heady taste!True old classic which I love to discover. Gives me headache when I sniff first wifs too much. But I still like it. Love the bottle.

A vintage chypre, strong, it seems like a 80 ́s scent. It isn ́t for all people.

Bleu de Chine is a centerpiece of cool white lightbulb tuberose, adorned with the palest blue oakmoss and tea leaves. It's a unisex kitchen sink chypre that requires an adventurer in the 21st century, someone who can appreciate Memphis Design, lots of saturated, clashing colors and perpendicular lines. It's the "Carlton" room divider, it's a statement piece, for men who aren't afraid to wear polka dot or lime green and women who appreciate oversized statement jewelry. The milky and camphorated tuberose and witchy oakmoss are like an erotic scratch along the back, it won't cut skin but it will leave a lasting mark, and this scratchiness is woody, oaky, resinous and decidedly masculine as it dries into its base. It's no Diva, it isn't vying to be the biggest bitch in the room; but it's one with much presence and persistence, a slow burner, and one that surprises you just when you thought its sunset has passed, when another whiff of its "white florals in the woods" whispers hours later.

This is an interesting "old" hybrid chypre that I appreciate more everytime I smell it . It is so different from modern commercial perfumery . I would say it comes from a time when women were not supposed to smell of sweet fruity/florals . It has a prominent tuberose to my nose but it is not a sweet fragrance . It is mossy and rather dry with a very subtle sweetness only in the background . A fragrance with no edges and which grows into a beautiful warmer and sweeter dry down towards the oriental side but in a very " classy ladylike" way : nothing shouts here ! I find it a statement fragrance from a queen which can take for granted her inborn elegance and value who wears a fragrance created only for her . The more I smell Bleu de Chine , the more I like its 'retro' charm ...

Those who wants to buy it - google the name of the brand and there are some items available for purchase on their web-site, including re-bottled old beauties. Not sure if they were reformulated due to IFRA
