Daisy Bloom

I have it and I absolutely love it! Unfortunately the staying power leaves much more to be desired, but I remedy that by spraying my clothes with it as it is not too strong at all and leaves the perfect whiff when I walk by. It smells like a mixture of violet and the traditional "potluck" of fragrance when you walk into a fragrance department store. You know, that unmistakeable smell that informs you that you are in the fragrance area as it is a blend of all the fragrances that have been blended sprayed, sampled that day and years the store has been open. It reminds me of a sunny day out with my mom and grandmom shopping. I luv it and I always recieve compliments whenever I wear it

Daisy Bloom is the original Daisy fragrance in a limited-edition bottle with a green flower topper. It came with little stickers, which you could stick on the bottle to personalize it. Daisy Bloom came out in spring 2009 as a collectors' edition.

I disliked the original Daisy because it seemed too heavy - due to my nose sensitivity, I could bear very light frags only. That adorable bottle caught my eyes in an airport shop years ago though. The pretty, fresh, youthful, springy green flowers, more exactly. I love green color, green perfumes, eating greens, green everything! As soon as I tried it, it felt like the juice was matching the bottle esthetics: green, crisp, whimsical and girly. Bought it straight away - I'm way too easy to lead by the nose sometimes hahaha What a surprise to discover it's a solinote? Funny thing is, I hate violet frags. I really cannot stomach violet syrup, violet candies or violet sherbets either... Too perfumey, in a toxic way, to me! But raw, with lamb's lettuce salad and a dash of balsamic vinegar, I enjoy it (like most of edible flowers, really). I'm happy to read hereunder some fellow Fragranticians also enjoy chewing on flowers, hehehe Back to Daisy Bloom. I still haven't recovered from that violet shock lol. I remember it smelled like strawberry leaves, with some green dewiness akin to juicy, crunchy celery or rhubarb stalks. The green floral accord reminded me childhood spring with school friends: sitting on sun stroked grass, making bracelets out of buttercups and small daisies (bellis perennis), singing rhymes, strawberries nearby on a napkin. Overtime, the frag became a bit too sweet and turned kind of salivary. That's the sort of problem I encounter with some sweet fruity perfumes, such as YSL's Baby Doll. Playing with the cute ladybirds and super girly stickers were a funny alternative to flower picking.

Recently found a nearly full bottle on ebay and given the price and curiosity, I took the dive. There are more notes in this than the votes would indicate. Some green at first, but I also smell the woods. It takes quite awhile on my skin for the violet to come out. When sprayed on my clothing, the violet comes through more like the soliflore the voting would have you believe and when sprayed on my skin there is a very slight powdery note over a bit of musk and sandalwood. Far more complex than I thought it would be, since the voting makes it appear to be a single note perfume. I am one of those midwestern, cannot wait for Spring to come types. I spend time in my garden frequently from the first crocus blossom of Spring to the last rose drop in Fall. I love my pansies and wild violets, but this is not that scent. I even like to eat my pansies and violets from time to time....ever tried them in a summer salad? I love a true violet candy. I am not unhappy with this scent although I was anticipating a violet soliflore. It is rather a happy little scent. Sits quite close to the skin and makes me keep sniffing my wrist. Hubby’s opinion is that it is a powdery, floral. Asked about violet, he said “maybe.” So not a strong soliflore.

I own Daisy Eau So Fresh and have smelled Daisy (the original) several times, and this flanker (omg, there are too many Daisy flankers!!) is exactly what you would expect from the green floral cap - a "greener" version of the original. There's a sharp grassy note that rides on top of the violet and musk of the original Daisy. It's a spring scent for me - a bit too sharp for summer, I feel like hotter temps draw too much of that grass note to the forefront. I got it at a yard sale and don't like it as much as Daisy or Daisy Eau So Fresh, but it has its moments for me in early spring.
