Dot

I wore this every single day of my travels on Semester at Sea, and it is the absolute perfect scent for me. I know a lot of people are very disappointed with this fragrance, but I have never smelled anything like it, and there is no perfume that fits me better. This perfume embodies everything about the woman I want to be. Vivacious, free-spirited, unique, gentle, feminine, adventurous, and charismatic. I imagine this to be worn by a carefree, seasoned traveler who is happiest when exploring far away lands and immersing themselves in other cultures, which is who I am and who I want to be. (Which granted, I may associate this with traveling and adventures because I mainly wore it while I was traveling the world) Though this strikes me primarily as a "day" scent, I do wear it both day and night. It is light and invigorating, yet still noticeable. This is my absolute favorite. I cannot say that enough. I have almost used up my first bottle (I have about one more wear and then it's gone), the one that traveled the world with me. I was practically devastated and went on a buying spree trying to find something to replace it, and while I love everything I have gotten recently, nothing but Dot can satisfy me. I finally went and ordered myself a full size bottle on ebay. I couldn't be happier knowing that my baby is on its way. I think I've now made this my ACTUAL signature. I will mourn the day I have to go without this in my collection. The ONLY bad things I have to say about this are that it does not last as long as I would like, it's pretty pricey, and it's pretty breakable. I have managed to break the black wing off the big cap and the little butterfly wing off the 1oz cap.....I've glued them back together, but you know... But, I'm willing to overlook all 3 of these things (though I may end up buying the 1 oz, and then using that and transferring the lid to whichever one I'm using, after it is gone, of course) because I LOVE the scent so very very much. It's what my soul smells like. I guess it must be obvious to absolutely EVERYONE that Dot an I were made for one another, because EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I go shopping for perfume in a store, since the first day this came out, when I tell the people at the perfume counter my preferences and what I am looking for (a sparkling, light, tropical, fresh, fruity floral, they always, always, ALWAYS point me to Dot, and every time I take a perfume selector test (which they have, idk what they are called), it ALWAYS suggests I try Dot. I guess it was just a match made in perfume Heaven. I can honestly say that this is the first (and if I'm really, truly honest, only) perfume I've ever really, truly fallen in love with. There are many that I love, but none like Dot. Also, as far as similarities go, I do think that this is somewhat similar to Marc Jacobs Honey. That being said, I've seen a few people who are really angry about this comparison, perhaps because they don't quite understand that similar does not mean the same. They are very different fragrances in a lot of ways, but I think that you can smell the two and know that they are related. They are at the very least cousins, maybe even sisters. Though they have very different notes, I think they give off a similar happy, sunny, carefree vibe. I do prefer Dot, because I feel like it has an exotic/adventurous side that Honey doesn't. Dot is the more adventurous sister, the traveler, bolder, perhaps with darker coloration and more exotic features. (Which again, may be because I associate this scent with my travels around the world, and May or may not have anything to do with the scent, but I must have had some reason to choose this scent for that purpose, right?) Honey is the sister baby sister who is still young enough to play games in the back yard and drink Hawaiian Punch and Tang. It smells like a child, to me. So, the two do have some similarities, but they are very different scents and Dot is much, much more mature. I also think this is "similar" to Katy Perry Purr. The two do NOT smell exactly the same, by any means, but I feel like they are natural counterparts. Dot is the lighter, fresher, gentler, more daytime one and Purr is a bit darker, more dramatic, abrasive and suited for nights and winter. They are very different fragrances with a very similar feel. I think if you love one, you'll love the other. Also, sorry this post is SO long. I just love it so much and I have a lot of words to express this.

Polka-Dot DRAGONFRUIT & HONEYSUCKLE. This gorgeous understated scent, signed by perfumers Ann Gottlieb (5th Avenue Elizabeth Arden), and Annie Buzantian (Splendour Elizabeth Arden) is the perfect counterbalance for wearing polka-dots or overdressing. Opens with a burst of honeysuckle & faintly red fruit, with nods to Honey Marc Jacobs, that deepens into a bread-y white floral & dragonfruit heart with coconut & clean nuances, all resting on a musky vanilla-wood base. On the skin I get red fruit, honey and a faint pencil shavings note, while in the air I get a barely-rouge honeysuckle with a bread-like quality (probably pitahaya/dragonfruit). The longer it's on the skin,the more the red fruit comes out. Ultra-light & sheer wearing experience with average performance, and a small scent bubble. Contrast to Honey Marc Jacobs: These are different, but there are some similarities with honeysuckle and they share a similar DNA. Dot leans more to red fruit and has the bread-like quality. Honey is a little sweeter. Roughly equivalent performance, or maybe slightly better performance with Honey. Contrast to Juicy Couture Oui: These are different but there is a similar vibe with light fruity florals. Juicy Couture Oui leans greener. Performance is roughly equivalent. Contrast to Tahitian Orchid Calgon: These are different but there is a similar vibe with light fruity florals. Tahitian Orchid leans more aquatic, and doesn't have the honeysuckle or red fruit but dries down sweeter. TO has above average performance for a body spray, and projection is roughly equivalent but Dot has better longevity. Contrast to Daisy Dream Marc Jacobs: These are different, but again a similar vibe with light fruity florals. Daisy Dream has a rosier vibe that dries down sweeter & more shampoo-like. DD has superior performance. Contrast to Reaction Kenneth Cole: These are different, while again a similar light fruity floral vibe. The dry downs are similar here, although Reaction doesn't have the bread-like quality I smell in Dot. Performance is a little stronger in Reaction. Overall: Beautiful, understated scent profile, and an average performance for a light summer wearing experience, this is the perfect scent for when you're slightly overdressed or when you want to fly under the radar. I'm a longtime fan of Honey Marc Jacobs, so it's a love for me. Enjoy!

Despite the fact that Dot is obviously mass-marketed to a young, mid-market demographic I really, really love this! And this is coming from a 50+ financial professional that generally prefers companies that target a more discerning crowd (Creed, Prada, Balenciaga, Armani, Chanel) but I am always up for a new scentsational adventure and DOT is it! Right after the the initial spritz, I detected the dragon fruit, coconut,litchi and vanilla. Not too sweet or cloying, it reminded me of a juicy cocktail at a summer resort. But after awhile, the driftwood and the musk mingle with the honeysuckle and orange flower-I have progressed from the beach bar to the shore and I can breathe in the waves, the seaside flora and the earthy scent of sandy driftwood. I know that this won't be for everybody due to individual chemistry and Marc Jacobs should stop the assembly line for a short minute ( I won't ever forgive him for Decadence-EVER! Bleccch!). However, please get past the frivolous looking bottle (doesn't pack well, sadly) and give this a shot-or a spritz. You might be pleasantly surprised, too. In short,this is my new summer scent! It lasts a long time, carries well without being overbearing AND I have received a compliment every day that I have worn this. I just wish it was named something else than Dot, it really has a lot more substance and depth than the name and bottle convey.

I will die on the Dot by Marc Jacobs hill. This scent was the first perfume I ever had that didn't make me feel like a grandma. It was the first time I realized that not all scents are all rose and powder. It smells youthful, the perfect amount of sweet and fruity, and just gives off "living my best life". My current bottle is ancient as I am scared to finish it, as I can't seem to find this fragrance anywhere that isn't marked up. With that said it still has the same scent and the color has not changed at all, as I am very protective of my fragrances and store them well. However, I do remember that it didn't last incredibly long. This is more of an everyday perfume you wear for yourself. It doesn't permeate the air but you do catch the sweet berry scent every now and then. I don't mind reapplying, and it was never so strong that I felt it would choke out anyone in the bathroom. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I do believe that it is an amazing first perfume for high school girls and even if you just like a subtle berry perfume.

Ok so this is one of my FAVE Marc Jacobs perfumes (love this one as well as Daisy Love) so I was kinda shocked to see so many “meh” reviews on here 😅 I will say it’s definitely a safe blind buy in the sense that it has a generic likability. But I think the honeysuckle and fruitiness mixed with the warm vanilla/woods is sooooo yummy! I’ve had this since senior year of high school and I always try to find it and repurchase it when I run out. The bottle is amazing and I think it’s a super well balanced fragrance for everyday wear. I guess if I HAD to complain it’d be that the lasting power is only moderate. And some may find it “generic” due to its lack of uniqueness. But for me it’s perf! Like a more recent reviewer said, I will DIE on the Dot Marc Jacobs hill!

Oh I know it's ridiculously fruity and the bottle is over the top, but IMO it is incrediby unique, and I just HAD to have this the moment I got a whiff from a paper strip. Seriously, I was hounding my local stores about why the didn't have it in yet. My favorite of all the Jacobs to have come out in the past 5-ish years. It's got a depth not present in the Lola's, and a sweetness not found in the Daisies. The orange blossom bursts forth on me, and it's like my blood is a cherry / orange creamsicle. I have never seen nor smelt a real Pitahaya, but I may just have to scout one out now that I see it as a note. This stuff is straight dope on me, 40-something be damned. You can pour the austere stuff on me when I'm dead!

This perfume is in my top for sure , i get the most compliments when wearing it. in my opinion i believe that if people do a little research as to how to make a scent last longer or how to layer perfume then they wont have to be cryin over the fragrant disappearing, because wit or without layering it lasts so long, and when i say layer i dont mean spray the whole bottle on yourself, nor do i mean to buy the shower gel and lotion, (even though you should because its awesome) a few sprays at the right areas goes a long way for hours. or face it your body chemistry might just not work it as said by reviewer below me.

the florals in this scent overwhelm me a bit an make me sneeze but I still love it and LOVE it some more. The fruit can be STRONG but in a fun way. a very happy and uplifting scent perfect if you need a reminder not to take life too seriously. i borrowed it from a friend a few years ago and fell in love with it, finally got around to getting a bottle myself - never looked back. i did get it on sale at a half price though, probably wouldn't have paid full price. here in Australia, it retails at $160 for a 100ml bottle - brought it for $76 on a special Marc Jacobs sale.

I got a 50ml of Dot for Christmas and I love it! It's been on my wishlist for a while. At first spray, it is a lovely blend of red berries, I specifically smell cranberry for some reason, and musk. As it settles, it smells like be delicious by dkny x red jeans by versace (in my opinion), which coincedentally are two of my favourite perfumes. It does have somewhat of a powdery/shampooey smell, which usually I don't like but with this, I feel like it smells clean.

One of my favourite perfumes ever. Genuinely such a gorgeous mix of florals and fruits that leaves you smelling so fresh and divine. So beautifully priced too! In a world where perfumes are skyrocketing in price I can still get a 50 ml bottle of this for less than £40 on sale. I do miss the old bottle though, the new bottle isn’t as fun and cute. Put polka dots, florals and berries together and it just is so me. Love love love and recommend heavily!

The scent of my high school years. I bought another bottle 13 years later but I was quite disappointed by the transformation of the bottle. The old design was so beautiful. As for the scent, I'm not sure if the formulation has changed but it seems to have a bit less longevity. Still, it's a fruity, sweet, lovely perfume that makes me feel good with my memories. It's quite suitable for spring and summer.

Delicious, this is the perfect mix of floral and gourmand. I get the lychee strongly, but also violets, and it is edible and sweet, but not in a candy way like pink sugar. This is young and girly, the bottle is a big clue to that, fun and fruity, but sensible enough to not overdo it. This is great for spring and summer, longevity isn't super, ideally it would be more inexpensive.

People tend to slate this fragrance compared to Marc Jacob's others and I don't know why! It is by far my FAVOURITE of his collection -different from the rest. Extremely fresh, lovely for every day wear. I get notes of dragon fruit and sandal wood on my skin, settling down to a clean, fresh perfumey scent. Plus the bottle is gorgeous and sits lovely on my dressing table!

This is a simple, fresh, fruity and aquatic perfume. Perfect for the hot days, very versatile. I wish the lasting power was better though.I really like it. Perfect scent for the warm days, not too sweet, not too fresh, a little floral and fruity. I can definitely detect pitahaya, berries and coconut water. Will need backup bottle

This is one of two fragrances that I have ever rebought in my life. Don’t get me wrong, this is nothing special but i still enjoy it a lot. It’s nostalgic to me! A basic floral fruity scent and not that sweet, a ”clean girl" fragrance. The lasting power of this (and Honey too) is very weak though. And I HATE the big cap!

I always loved eau so fresh, but it doesn’t last more than an hour on me. Having Dot, even though notes aren’t similar at all, they smell very similar to me. Eau so fresh being slightly more sweet & fruity, but I can layer them and get a lasting fragrance I love.

I came here because I just saw this in a new Lifetime movie (my favourite movies in the world) The movie name is “Lies My Babysitter Told” 2024 and the lady is such a great actress and very well put together. I’m going to buy this !!!

Es muy buen regalo, tiene un aroma suave y dulce. Es muy básico pero no le quita que es un perfume muy bonito tanto en empaque como en notas y aromas. Siempre te dan cumplidos al usarlo ✌🏽 Es muy femenino, así que tomen eso en cuenta.

I quite like wearing this as an everyday scent for work. It’s clean, sweet, inoffensive, quite casual. Daytime scent for sure. Edit: now that it’s springtime I’m really enjoying it more and more! Very easy reach and uplifting.

Prob got about 5 bottles of this 🤭 it's so NICE. I don't like the bottle which has the tiny ball on it. I only like the bottle with the big over the top lady bird dot thing. Lasts ages and looks nice in the display cabinet
