Devil in Disguise

This one is quite interesting. Opens up with sharp ginger and rhurbarb, then it dries down to a green hazy scent, almost like youre walking inside an enchanted forest in a dream. and as you walk down this forest you get whiffs of the unusual plants and stems that grow there.

I bought this one in Summer 2019, under its new packaging (black bottle as pictured here). Thus this has not been re-released in 2021... at all! I dont even understand the point of doing a new entry, since there has been no reformulation (and even if there was...no point). Copying my review from the page of the first release of Devil in Disguise (exact identical fragrance - previous packaging): Beautiful rhubarb centric fragrance, with strong support of florals and a hint of soft vetiver in the base. Performance is modest. As others have said before me, this is similar to the original Aedes de Venustas (but probably a small step lower in terms of quality compared to AdV, and that is reflected in the price), and issued the same year (no surprise, since Buxton and Duchafour are blending buddies), with a rhubarb slightly greener. This one leans (a bit) feminine, while AdV is totally unisex. A great choice, but should you prefer a better performing more masculine version, you might want to opt for MB Emotional Drop (aka Emotional Rescue), which is vetiver-centric with rhubarb support. Highly recommended for warmer days, 20+

When I bought my mark Buxton testers I gravitated to A Day In My Life but after a while I this one started to grow on me and it's become my signature.i love this so unique and something else to a point which I'm not sure how to describe it.

It's ok, smells nice. Citrusy vetiver, Terre d'Hermes style. Expected more from Mr. Buxton :)
