Mark Cross Eau de Cologne

This was designed for the man with the Mark Cross briefcase, carefully curated in his look, strong silhouettes and white collars on blue shirts, destined to spend his days in front of the Quotron terminal, daydreaming of a jaunt in the Hamptons, trading wing tips for Topsiders. Before I paint a picture suited for American Psycho (we know of all the fragrant cameos already easter-egged there), let me divert your attention to the bouquet of the eau de cologne itself. This one is a fancy outfit unto itself, and what's great is that transcends its original intended customer base. If one leans in a bit further, it may feel even a bit, dare I say, bohemian! There's equal measures of amber and moss, a slow-simmer leather in its fond, and a woody framework, predominantly that of a buttery sandalwood. The light shading of tonka beans is also detected. It communicates all that mythical masculine elegance fetishized by those who worship at the altar of Patou Pour Homme and the like—yet this, in my humble opinion, has more character, it imparts more gusto, and while surely dated to the modern nose, its understated elegance cannot be denied. It requires an attention span that exceeds that of a gerbil, who avoids the trend of context collapse and sees the forest for the trees. Recommended for some sexy tie-loosening, suspender-unfastening Wall Street cosplay.

I don't get any stale notes as the fromer revier says, (maybe his bottle has gone off...) This is an excellent fragrance. Masterpiece status ! Like a sweeter version of the original Patou pour Homme...

I am an enthusiast of classic fragrances, yet this one i don't fancy a lot. It is very ok for an eau de cologne, quite strong performance. For the scent itself, it has a stale note in it somewhere, which i do not like, it gives a vibe of mold, like a cellar in which mold has made its way. You can feel this note by pressing your nose on the application point, it does not give that vibe in the air around you. And it does not linger, it is just there in the first hour. As a scent trail, it somehow reminds my of Ho Hang and Habit Rouge Guerlain.

I have several bottles of the perfume, and I am looking for someone similar to it because it is no longer produced. If anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate it
