Magie Rouge

MARRAKECH IMPERIAL MAGIE ROUGE and BOHÈME CHIC Absolutely one of my favourite new houses with the collection of good quality perfumes from one of my favourite perfumers Christian Carbonnel (known as well Chris Maurice). I will make a review of them all. I’m obsessed with powdery soft musky perfumes atm and there are two of them in this collection. Since I only have samples of all these perfumes I want to compare a little bit these two instead of just writing an in depth review separately (which I’m going to write after having a full bottle of them). I have many different kind of powdery perfumes: clean, soapy and bright ones, vintage make up powdery ones, baby powdery or baby wipes kind of scents and of course subtle powdery roses and some sophisticated fruity powdery perfumes. Now I have found two absolutely mesmerising powdery scents which are not like any other which I already have so they don’t fit into the categories above. MAGIE ROUGE is somewhat “neutral” powder and even a dusty one (in a good way) and I have been trying to find this kind of scent for a while. There is not too much Vanilla in it which makes it different from many other perfumes in this category but just enough to wrap all the notes in a warm blanket. The texture is utterly comforting, soothing, beautiful and velvety soft. The blend is harmonious and does not emphasize any note above the others. In many powdery scents you can find Iris or Orris Root but here is Acacia which has warm Iris like and powdery qualities and even if Acacia is called as Mimosa as well here you don’t find that rich, sweet, yellow floral note which dominate easily. Violet adds the powdery feeling as well without vintage make up -like nuances which puts this in the neutral category. I would say that this is a modern make up powder smell. For me it was unforgettable since the first sniff. In BOHÈME CHIC the powdery note is not so opulent, powerful, dominant and dry. The scent has beautiful tender floral note which makes it slightly more feminine than Magie Rouge. Here Iris and Heliotrope are creating a subtle and indulgent, romantic and hazy cloud which unfolds with sweeter and creamier Vanilla than in Magie Rouge. This is anyway very neutral as well without turning soapy or baby powdery nor almond like creaminess in any kind of way. Both of them are addictive scents, it’s really hard for me to save the precious drops until I will have full bottles of them some day. Because I only have samples I can't say so much about longevity and sillage (can't spray as much as I normally do). Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. Marrakech Imperial uno dei brand No1 al Mondo ideato in Marocco. A me lo ha fatto conoscere Il Gitano Exclusive Parfumes. Nello specifico parlo di Magie Rouge, un profumo che si fa sentire fin da subito con le sue note di testa Acacia, Pepe Rosa e Cannella; avvolgente, delicato e dolce con note di Vaniglia, Gelsomino e Violetta; infine lascia la sua scia vellutata, non imponente che persiste tutta la giornata con note di Velluto, Legno di Cashmere, Fava Tonka e Muschio. Che dire, un eau de parfum strepitoso.

This is lovely - smells like a nice sandalwood fragrance to me - I guess that's the cashmere wood. It is well-done, smells feminine but I can see a man wearing this and smelling amazing too. This is a lovely vibe, grown but not necessarily too "mature". Reminds me of a Glossier You type but better performance, better scent profile, better quality lol. I like this a lot.

Yh this officially surpasses Cuir Beluga! I sprayed this last night around 5pm. Its now almost 2pm THE FOLLOWING DAY!! and its still smelling strong on my arm!!!!!!! This is Cuir Beluga on STEROIDS. Also I do find this one to be more creamy and smooth than the Guerlain

Nutty cashmeran velvet... Soft velvety creamy vanilla with a touch of powder and tender tonka. It's smooth, and kind of nutty... shear and tender fragility. Beautiful.

This is my first impression as I have not worn this fragrance for a full day ware. I am testing this out of the sample kit. I would like to say a few words about the customer service of Marrakesh Imperial. In my experience the customer service was really good. I got a prompt response to my inquiry the next business day. My package arrived from Europe well packaged and I also got some extra samples with my order. I do recommend this brand. Magie Rouge is indeed a very powder scent. The opening has a slight hint of herbal greenness, which I guess comes from acacia. I do like that part a lot, and I guess the opening is my favorite part of the scent. As the fragrance dries down it becomes more powdery and feels more “mellow”, that green note becomes much less herbal. It is pretty, pleasant and original scent as I can’t recall anything that I can compare this to. The fragrance is feminine and office appropriate. I would not ware it on a night out, but would ware it for a nice evening at home after a shower. And once again my complain is the performance. Within two or three minutes this becomes a complete skin scent that I can only smell directly nose to skin.

I’m testing this and already enchanted by the opening of this intriguing fragrance. It’s daring with a concoction of powderiness sitting on an elegant base of well rounded spices of cinnamon and pink pepper. The vanilla is so smooth. Not overly sweet, but with an intoxicating trail. I made homemade vanilla a few times in my life and once those vanilla beans macerate in the alcohol, wow, game changer. The structure then becomes richer, warmer, deeper, denser and you cannot ignore it. This is impressive and above average in projection and sillage. When I reviewed the notes and saw velvet and cashmere wood, Tonka bean and musk I became over elated that I felt like I truly was embarking on a discovery journey, one that is not disappointing. I could brush stroke my skin and the velvet sensation is that real. So enjoyable. Can’t wait to try the rest of this outstanding line. Hats off to Christian Carbonnel for this.
