Love Kills

Adore this! Wow is this a stunning scent. I typically don't gravitate or have any interest in fragrances advertising rose notes anymore after some bad experiences with rose scented perfumes. However, I was ordering some samples from lucky scent, and wanted to try out this brand. I bought it on a whim, and I think I just found one of my favorite fragrances yet! This is a very green, fresh, almost zesty/grapefruit leaning rose. There is for sure a note of some sort of juicy fruit in this. Think of smelling the stems of a freshly cut bouqet of rained-on roses, and then smelling the petals right after. Often times people liken rose scents to a grandma or "old lady," but this is youthful feminity in a bottle. An intelligent young women, who knows her path and won't let the tragedy of heart break stop her. I'm a huge fan of the Ambrette in this fragrance. The cedar note is very quiet, and more like a compliment rather than an addition, it works well to keep the fragrance grounded. 8/10!

Intense but perhaps not the prettiest of roses. It's a damp, steely, green bunch of dark red roses, with strong thorns. They are past their best bloom. Ambrarome smells rather sharp and a tad synthetic. As a rose lover, however, I realize that rendering the rose scent to a perfume so that it's beautiful, strong and long lasting isn't the easiest task. I absolutely respect the venture of Love Kills, I even enjoy it quite a bit, but it isn't The Perfect Rose for me. Edit: Changed my mind, got a fb. The quality of my bottle seems higher that of my sample. Love Kills blossoms as its best in rainy autumn weather. I admire the fact that all the other notes support the rose, they don't compete with the rose. Love Kills is a masterly creation, one of my favourites in the house Masque Milano. A merciless rose, only for hardcore rose lovers, I'd say. Absolutely gorgeous🌹🌹🌹

Fills a very similar niche as La Fille de Berlin, in my opinion. I've never realized how much of a rose/geranium lover I was until I smelled both of these. I will say, though, where LFdB dries down a little sweet and soft, Love Kills keeps its edge all the way through the drydown. I notice that the rose in Love Kills also persists a few hours later, whereas with LFdB it fades into the background with the other notes. Love Kills is like the younger, edgier, more prickly sister of LFdB. If the latter is a mature gothic woman, clad with a Hermes Rouge H purse, the former is her baby bat sister holding a black pleather bag with metal spikes and eyelets. LFdB is a rich, brownish red; Love Kills is a sharp chartreuse wearing a red lipstick. Undeniably related, but very different and developed into their own characters.

A beautiful deep red rose with earthy touches of patchouli, herbal green touches of geranium. This is so easy to wear if you are a rose lover of either gender. Seductive without being to overt. It isn't the oud animalic middle east rose, it isn't the spicy cinnamon wine filled rose of the holidays, it isn't the fresh Dewey pink rose of spring and summer, it isn't the vanilla desert rose jam rose, it isn't the lipstick iris infused rose. It is the deepest and most perfect red rose in full bloom. Full of tart and earthy seduction. It hypnotizes and completely captivates you with its power and it's sensual beauty. As if the rose petals were turned to velvet. Soft, sensual, bewitching. A kiss from a beautiful and beguiling man or woman .. take your pick. FB worthy.

Masque Milano Love Kills (2019) - dusty rose - Initially I thought @carolinedumurparfumeur ‘s perfume would be like the countless other rose perfumes in the market. Yet, she shows me a unique work of art. At the start I was getting a shiny and metallic rose: Rose oxide! A floral hologram. A floral green Rose-like top note, fruity with hints of citrus mixed with mustiness from Ambrette. Then, it’s heart I get the reveal: beautiful Turkish Rose oil mixed with Geranium and Lychee. Reminds me of an actual Rose - dewy petals and at its peak. Yet, it’s drydown continues the journey of the rose to its death - Rose mixed with an ambergris-like molecule, Cedar and earthy Patchouli. Dry and dusty - the flower going back to the earth. Petals awash. Bravo.

Oh, this is such an obvious and nonetheless beautiful olfactory abstraction of Romeo and Juliet, it's not even subtle (it has the "What's in a name" quote on the box 😊). It mirrors young love that blooms, burns brightly and dramatic and when the flames die out, the petals scatter to the wind and the memories of love linger in an ambery bitter sweet haze. I was almost too quick to dimiss it as a simple soliflore. Well, it is a soliflore, yet not a simple one. It holds so many different facets of the rose, the green, the pink, the red, the dark, the withered. Passionate, romantic and nostalgic, made with love for rose lovers🌹.

Love love love. One of my favourite rose perfumes. Fresh, clean, stunning. This house has some golden stars. I find most of the ones I’ve tried to be daring and unique, but very wearable. And this is no exception. Everything from concept to the juice, very pleasing and spot on. Wish I’d bought the large bottle instead of the 35ml. If you love rose, than no need to sample this. A must have addition to your collection. 10/10

Gorgeous rose soliflore, but not a simple, boring kind. It goes through three different stages: First is red, thorny rose with stems and leaves. Second is beautiful lipstick rose in full bloom. Third is soft and sweet jammy rose. Longevity is excellent. Very feminine and suitable for any occasion, just be mindful of how much you spray. You must be really into roses to appreciate this one though, considering its full price.

Truly smells like you have buried your nose in the most glorious rose. Usually roses get paired with powdery notes and thankfully this one doesn’t at all. I don’t really pick up many other specific notes, but I know they are there. I also like layering it with Tom Ford Ombré Leather.

What I got on the strip & my clothe is a divine sweet oriental rose, but on the skin I get a hint of Guerlain's Rose Nacree du Desert & Songe d'un Bois d'Ete (now Bois Mystérieux) instead—soft rose and wiffs of incense & wood.

Pure aroma, rose from three different, it's different is that love kills "living" red roses, it's a complete exhibit of roses bloom to wither life cycle. Geraniums as decoration, fresh green leaves simulation

To me this is super concentrated rose oil diluted in gasoline, not sure what's causing this as there's no violet leaf in it. A very beautiful rose regardless, if only it was more affordable.

Beautiful pure, elegant rose. As #dadipi below indicated, wonderful in colder weather. Absolutely stunning contrasted by the dry, crisp air of winter here in the UK, and perfectly unisex.

This is just a beautiful sharp red rose very realistic. Very misty. i absolutely love it. Didn’t blow me away first weeks but now that is a tad colder... oh gosh. Beautiful!!

Reminds me of Lyric Man. Soapy, Green rose soliflore with a slight musky animalic edge. A bit of ambergris.

This a long overdue proper sampling of Masque Milano Love Kills, the third entry of Act III and one of the house’s 2019 releases that I had the privilege of first smelling last June at Perfumology. It’s a fresh, green, citric rose scent with Turkish rose, geranium, patchouli, cedar, and musk. It seems to contain a healthy dose of geranium with all of its spicy, herbal, fresh, and sharp sides. What’s not to like? It’s balanced, not overly sharp, with good harmony between the rose and geranium, and it’s romantic, as its name suggests, while not being especially heavy or feminine, so it’s versatile and year-round friendly, as it works perfectly well on this cooler winter day but would be nicely boastful in the heat of summer. An easy winner of a release from Masque Milano, which has a good variety of challenging and easy-to-love scents. It’s priced at $158 for 35ml, within the current range of Masque Milano pricing, with a 10ml travel size also available for $57, at great boutiques like Perfumology. 7 out of 10

From a fresh, metallic rose with thorns to a wilting flower in old water to dusty petals - Love Kills takes you on a journey. Very successful case of story telling through fragrance and worth experiencing for that reason; this remains really interesting throughout the wearing process. Having said that, I usually reach for a metallic rose when I want to kick some ass, and in that sense the transformation to a woody, earthy rose in the dry down is less satisfying, pretty as it is (the sillage is really lovely, subtle and airy but present). As others have noted, the middle stage with the musky, sweaty notes is not super pleasurable either. Nevertheless worth a try if you want to experience a rose in all its stages; cleverly done and with a thrilling name to boot.

Wow, this opens quite sharp with an metallic, green rose and softens into something almost reminiscent of my childhood perfume that came with the life size Barbie. Both nostalgic yet grown-up. The longer it sits the more gothic and dark is becomes, nearly perfectly encapsulating freshly fallen rain on a bed of thorny roses. Somehow fresh yet gloomy and perfectly Autumn. I love this way more than I thought I was going to, as typically florals are not my go-to. Layering combo: I had Odette Pas De Chat on my other had and kept getting a whiff of both as I was testing them and it smelled so incredibly cozy, unique, and darkly coquettish. This fragrance actually has quite decent projection and longevity (~7 hours)

I didn't like this scent at first, but then I remembered it somehow. I tried again and II think I was unfair. The opening is full of roses and bliss, but slowly it starts to drift towards a dark side. It is as if the blooming roses are slowly withering and a drop of black blood is falling. Ambrette is not soft here, it is quite mellow in most perfumes but not here. Patchouli never overwhelms the scent either. I like it.

清甜的麝香玫瑰 水潤的荔枝玫瑰,體溫高一點的時候甚至有水蜜桃感(不過他要的表現應該是低溫的金屬感),看了官網介紹除了用了很好的玫瑰原料之外,黃葵也選了IFF旗下的天然原料公司LMR的Ambrette Absolute,香氣表現跟Matiere Premiere的Parisian Musc一樣,在我身上除了乾淨的植物麝香之外、還會有蜜感的花果香,蜜甜蜜甜的 主角玫瑰在黃葵的陪襯下非常水靈,廣藿添加了一些深度和綠意,但沒有把氣味拉到藥感或是西普玫瑰的方向,天竺葵的清新也讓玫瑰沒有太過鮮豔脂粉,算是開的很平衡鮮活的玫瑰 氣味底層有麝香、龍涎、黃葵和雪松的鋪墊,玫瑰盛開之後、體溫的暖意會加入,氣味收結在乾淨舒服的base,動物感或是體味的部分我身上都沒有,就是很潔淨的肌膚感
