1985 Eau de Parfum

Smells great - very fresh with solid citrus and bergamot top notes but poor sillage, very weak longevity and non-existent drydown. This is a pity as its a top scent but labeling this a parfam is a big misrepresentation by Massimo Dutti. Overspray, overspray, overspray...

Very intrigued by this new launch. Seems like the brand is wanting to introduce a new image for its perfumes. Sounds exciting!

I had high hopes for this one, as an OG 80's guy who loves stuff like Cool Water, Green Irish Tweed, and that whole side of things. So I ordered a bottle on a whim. This fragrance is a significant letdown. When I spray it on, I get a very pleasant hit of lemon. And.......... that's about it. This fragrance is ALL lemon top notes, which begin to fade really fast, and I never get any significant mids or base notes coming in. I find no depth to this whatsoever. This is labeled as an EDP, but it's basically an eau fraiche. It's a nice spritz of lemon citrus. So OK, I suppose it might make a decent freshie for burning-hot weather, or intense workouts in the gym. (UPDATE: I oversprayed a bunch and went to the gym; it actually did slightly better than I thought, but the above assessment still mostly holds. You have to overspray the hell out of this stuff for it to amount to anything, or hold up at all. This is an eau fraiche, and you should consider it as such.) I don't hate it... the scent is quite nice, but labeling this an EDP is fraud. The price isn't that bad, but Jimmy Choo Man Ice can be had for much less. Not to mention freshies like Davidoff Cool Water, Mont Blanc Legend Spirit, or Lacoste Match Point Cologne that have considerably more depth, character, and complexity than this. And forget about longevity. Too bad... you win some, you lose some. And this blind buy was a whiff. UPDATE – This fragrance works pretty well as a mixer, to lighten or freshen up other fragrances with more density. I've had great luck mixing this 50/50 with Rasasi Hawas and Hawas Ice, for example....

This perfume , is citric, crisp, clean and green. If I could compare it to another fragrance I would say it’s Grey Vetiver younger brother, a little bit sweeter, less refined and more outgoing. Honestly doesn’t take me back to the 80’s but is definitely is a gentleman fragrance and a solid release.

This reminds me of Nishane Hacivat, but without the pineapple. I don't know how to explain, but it has got this slight fresh/aquatic vibe instead. Maybe due to the lavender? In terms of projection/longevity, this is a skin scent which doesn't last more than a couple of hours unless you overspray.

Massimo Dutti has had some really good releases lately for fairly low prices, excited to see where they go this year. The notes remind me of Sauvage... Bergamot, Elemi, Pepper, Lavander, Vetiver...

The Intense version isn't listed on Fragrantica, that one is awesome, has a soft Halfeti vibe...I am buying that one.

Poor longevity around 1 hour. Don't expect too much. It's good option for school boys
