Black Evening

Although not a clone, a more than credible alternative to the Ombré Leather, Tuscan Leather... For a paltry price. Soft leather, with fruity and apricot accents of osmanthus, joined by a subtly spicy, well-balanced saffron here, which brings the necessary warmth and does not stifle the other notes. The background offers a leathery rendering of course but also powdery, bordering on being waxy. A sweet perfume yet frankly well constructed, I am not a fan of perfumes featuring such a leather note, which can be tiring in the long run to wear. Except here, the seven or eight hours spent on my skin are pleasant and never too much.

Mucho cuero, tipo piel prenda de piel recién comprado. Los primeros minutos puede parecer mucho, pero a la hora se percibe muy balanceado con lo azafranado de la flor. Lo he usado en frío, pero también en calor para probar, pero en calor solo ha bastado una sola atomización y con eso es suficiente para proyectar por horas, porque proyecta demasiado, pero una sola atomización es el sweet spot para usar en calor. El olor es delicioso, no dulce pero tampoco seco o súper serio. Increíble lo que uno puede obtener de un perfume como este por un precio muy accesible.

gatekeeping this, cheap , sexy , aura, confidence giving fragrance. To me it smells like a niche perfume , very good juice , i love ombre leather but i never buy it anymore till i found this perfume. On skin it lasts 6-8h it depends on the weather. Clothes 10-12h.

Just tried it, smells amazing, like a very fruity leather, more like Tuscan Leather rather than Ombre Leather. If this juice was in a Tom Ford bottle people would pay for it 4 times the price

Using it since October 2023. This bottle will last a lifetime surely. It's not as dry-screechy-saffronized Ombre Leather, it's not as thick smoky raspberry musky like Tuscan Leather, yet it's undoubtedly very similar to both in terms of overall profile. Impossible not to think if it's a dupe or not in an instant. But no, Black Evening has a woody freshness that Tom Ford ones don't, and it's clearly more saffron-osmanthus-apricot than raspberry, though raspberry is very present (given the material in question is a powerful one). I think this also has more of the violet/violet leaf (some say gasoline but okay), at times giving Fahrenheit leather-violet flashes to me. The drydown is more agreeable for me in terms of sweetness, and in the air it's revealing completely different facets, so much so that when I smelled it for the first time few years ago on a friend (it was a cold day and I got whiffs from him while walking outside) I thought he oversprayed Givenchy Pour Homme (red one), a peculiar davana-bergamot and aromatic freshness with leather-labdanum warmth was what I thought I smelled. 24+ hours on my skin (even after 2 showers), what I am left with a vague woody amber a la amber ketal, a more agreeable of the notorious woody ambers, a group I normally hate when overused but here remnants of raspberry ketone help getting over it. It's a super light red-fruity woody amber leftover. A scent where more than one spray would be too much, to enjoy all its delicacies.

Yes, this is very close to Ombre leather EDP. Together with Parfums de Marly Godolphin my favorite leather. I bought it in Almada Forum Portugal last July. Together with White and Red Evening, which was my wifes favorite from the 3. Red Evening is Nuclear. Rose & Oud combo. What a great fragrance. Fills a room, a house and probably a huge mansion too. Only wore it once since is was Summer and I don't advice this for Warmer days. It's suffocating. Will update in Fall/Winter. For the same reason I only wore Black Evening once. Will be wearing it more often soon. My first impression is that it is a bit sweeter than Ombre Leather, but also that it lasts longer. Even if Ombre Leather has a decent longevity. I paid 29 Euros for 100 ML. A steal. Only White Evening is unimpressive. I bought it because it was more suitable for the occasion ( Summer) and I was hoping to get more Iris from it. My wife also tested a few new female fragrances from Massimo Dutti. She liked a few but didn't want a 100 ML bottle. ( 60 Euros) They had plenty good fragrances, but for me 3 were enough. Black and Red are Great value for money.

A really good fragrance It really is similar with Ombré Leather with an extra dose of sweetness, from a fruity apricot-raspberry accord borrowed form Tuscan Leather. At first the leather is very predominant, immediately is followed by a sweet note that is developing, starting from syrupy, bubblegum, and it settles into raspberry sweet. This takes an hour, after that you remain with a shoe box leather and raspberry, for a few hours. After the fragrance it loses it’s power, after 6 hours approx, the leather fades away, and in the spot light stays the sweet note, that becomes a bit ambery, lousing it’s fruitiness, it lingers as a skin scent until the next day. A good fragrance for the price, and what I appreciate in this fragrance is that it doesn’t tries to hard to be a clone, succeeding in being a good fragrance on its own. If you want a softer, fruitier, and cheaper version of ombré leather, I highly recommend it. An easy to wear sweet leather, suits formal or casual occasions. Also I don’t find it to be animalic, neither Smokey or dark, and I think is works as a unisex scent.

I like it a lot, but the interpretation most people get on it disappoints me. How isn't anyone picking up on the tobacco accords? Cigars tobacco to be precise. It needs no actual tobacco in its formulation for it be able to render this accord. Saffron and something sweet with leather undertones, like osmanthus, will conjure up that effect. Speaking of, I'd bet on some actual amber notes factored into the recipe, since saffron and osmanthus are expensive they ought to have used small saffron concentrations (as its smell can't be synthesized yet), and some synthesis osmanthus. Maybe they even chose to amp up the amber, even honey notes to make up for the more expensive ones. That will explain the sweet rubbery dry-down. All in all, it is an enveloping, charmingly bold perfume worthy of its name, "Black Evening".

Like everyone says, it's similar to TF Ombre Leather, but it's NOT a clone or dupe. I guess TF was just an inspiration. Massimo Dutti created their own scent and I totally luv it. You can smell a strong leather, but with a twist of flowers or some fruits(?). Thank to this, leather is not so harsh like in TF. For this price it's a no brainer. I don't know about sillage, but longevity is crazy. I could smell it on my skin next day and another 2 days on my jacket. Sick

Today I'm testing two perfumes by Massimo Dutti and one of them is Black Evening. On my skin, it is a lovely mature and truly masculine scent. I fully understand why some compares Black Evening with the DNA of Tom Ford Ombré Leather / Tuscan Leather, but it's not so close. I would not compere Black Evening to these scents. Yes, there is a prominent leather note, but it is put in a different way. To me, the precise comparison is the classic - Dior Fahrenheit for men. It could be my skin, I don't know, but I definitely see a clear connection between Black Evening and Fahrenheit. To me, Black Evening sounds kind of modern take of that classic Fahrenheit vibe - lot of leather, violets, woods. What a mature gentleman's perfume! Stunning ratio: quality of the scent / performance / presentation / price! Great work bg Massimo Dutti !!!
