Marrakech Tale

A propos tales...funnily enough there is a tale for me behind this fragrance. I was working in a shop in Berlin and this bloke walked in and the shop suddenly smelled amazing ! I asked him what he was wearing and he said Marrakech Tales. I knew it was a drugstore cheapie and was quite shocked at how good it smelled, especially the enormous projection it had. It was a simple structured perfume based around cardamom, citruses, (including grapefruit) and cedarwood. I ended up hoarding this fragrance and eventually it became discontinued and my stockpile ran out. I phoned the company to ask why they discontinued this gem and they were very friendly. The person I spoke to tipped me off, saying although it had been discontinued a jeans company bought the rights to reproduce it under another name. It's now called Fishbone for Men, (Fishbone is the name of the jeans company - hence the strange name !) Most of the releases from Maurer + Wirtz do not impress me, but the original Tabac and Marrakech Tales/Fishbone are excellent.
