MCM Collector's Edition

I don’t like the stickers on it. The scent is fine, you’ve smelled it before...numerous times. It smells like an edgier Fifth Avenue...or like the United Colors of Bennetton..Hot? With a missing note. Longevity is non existent...sillage? Arms length maybe. Not bad, just not unique nor long lasting. The cheap stickers are ridiculous.

I had high hopes for this based off the notes. It’s ok.

I sacrificed my hand for this perfume. I review both feminine and masculine perfumes because, to me, fragrances have no gender. Notes themselves aren’t gendered ..labels are just a social construct used for categorization. Still, I will use these terms here as a compass for clarity. This opens in the most stereotypical way possible: heavy on apricot and raspberry at first. Then comes the peony, adding its floral aspect, with jasmine subtly balancing and rounding out the composition so it doesn’t come off as harsh though it still smells overly chemical to my nose. After that, I get abroxan, adding a warm, musky, slightly amber like vibe. The sandalwood merely supports this muskiness with its milky, powdery quality. There is an almost undetectable vanilla, giving off tiny sparks of sweetness as I move my hand. Finally, oakmoss adds a faint forest like undertone, with some of its typical damp, earthy nuances.. The oakmoss Is minimal here. Overall, this is the stereotypical scent found in countless perfumes marketed towards women. I’m not a woman, but I’m honestly tired of smelling this DNA everywhere malls, parks, anywhere I go. It’s just boring, overplayed, and annoying at this point. This feels like the female equivalent of Dior Sauvage or Creed Aventus for men: mass appealing, repetitive, and lacking in depth or soul. I can’t stand it, to be honest. The same as the original scent in the same bottle, bar a couple of cheap stickers on the bottle, which is very disappointing. A soft, slightly floral, more feminine leaning unisex fragrance. Not particularly long lasting or projecting, it's just okay.
