Valentino Donna Born In Roma Coral Fantasy

BEAUTIFUL fruity scent! Very sweet, lowkey tropical (very lowkey imho) but without being too cloying, making it perfect for summer. Despite its sweetness it's also super fresh, giving a bit of "shampoo scent" vibes. Personally I can't really pick its notes apart, I think this perfume is more of a delicious pink cloud that lingers around you when sprayed; this might be because I lack the experience to discern notes, but I believe that even if my skills were a bit better this perfume would still have a very rounded profile, without any single note being too prominent/loud. Despite its sweetness, I find it to be feminine but more in a "young woman" way compared to other scents that people usually perceive as scents that high-schoolers might like (I do not agree with ageism in perfumery, but strictly speaking in terms of marketing or general social perception I think Coral Fantasy fits this description). I think it has an amazing performance as I've been able to smell it on myself after 24hours, however it does not have a strong projection. I think people might need to be even closer than arms length to properly perceive it on you. Personally I do not mind this, as I've found that when I move my arms around I can get a faint whiff and enjoy its scent without having to directly smell my skin. I smelled all DBIR flankers at the store and I just couldn't stop thinking about this one! Green Extravaganza and Yellow Dream are also amazing choices, but there was something so so so special about Coral Fantasy that I just had to get it as my birthday present. This was also my dad's favorite when helping me choose lol. I do not think I've ever smelled a perfume in store and felt as much love as I did with this one, literally love at first sniff. Coral Fantasy forever!!!!

One of my all-time favorites. Works excellent during hot humid summers, and is balanced enough to work indoors as well (just use 1 spray only though for indoors). There's enough balance where it's just barely sweet enough, then the tartness and base kicks in. The cedar as a base is simple, but still absolute genius. I don't smell kiwi much, but rather a top layer of orange with a generic "citrus" undertone. There's a strong black pepper note on the base that I can't be ignored, but supports the entire citrus fragrance throughout almost the entire day (8 hours). The woods and black pepper base are not overpowering, so it won't lean into the masculine territory. Rose or jasmine are florals that have always worked excellently on my skin, and it stays feminine enough without it being too "old lady" like (think 1980s Chanel.... yeah). It helps the orange calm down a tiny bit after 2 hours. Don't let the "simplicity" fool you, this is an incredible fragrance that works for adult women of almost all ages (20s-60s). I can also see this being used in the Fall too because of the peppery and woodsy base. It could work for mild winters too, if sprayed on clothes. Not very many orange fragrances last that long where I live, but this one lasts all day and will definitely be a keeper for almost year round use, whether indoors or outdoors. If you use it outdoors, you might want to do 2 sprays instead of just 1.

I don’t like assigning seasons to scents, but realistically most people will probably prefer Coral Fantasy in the spring and summer. Personally, I enjoy it all year round and find it very versatile. Do not assume that you’ll like this if you like the OG, they’re not even in the same family. Personally I like the original, but not enough to buy a whole bottle. It smells like a bunch of other perfumes I have...mixed together. I can’t explain it, but it’s much more boozy and spicy than this. Also I get berries from the original, while this one is citrus/kiwi dominant. The only thing this has in common with the OG is that whole “smells like a mix of everything else” quality in the opening, however it’s the kiwi that starts to set it apart after about 30 minutes. The citrus, rose, kiwi, and musk just smell so good together. I don’t think it smells like anything in the “reminds me of” section. I don’t really care for D&G L’Imperitrace, I find it to be much more fleeting and uninteresting than this, and it has a sour note that I can’t put my finger on, maybe the rhubarb. This has much better staying power, it’s more interesting, and it’s really well blended. It’s very easy to wear and I think if you like any of the musky citrus florals like Bright Crystal, you’ll probably enjoy this...just keep in mind that the kiwi is quite distinct, but it’s also what sets it apart and makes it more unique.

I LOVE THIS PERFUME!!!!!! My favourite fragrance of all time. It’s so clean, fresh, fun, fruity and addictive. I literally cannot stop smelling myself when I’m wearing Coral Fantasy. Although I'm more into gourmands now, this still stands as one of the best fragrances I’ve ever had despite being a fruity floral. It’s girly but not immature. It’s fun and it's giving fun beachy girl at a Tiki Bar. Many people say it’s a spring/summer fragrance but I wear it all year round because I just love it that much. Something about wearing it in the winter really bring something else out of this fragrance which makes it more appealing to me in colder months. Everything is perfectly balanced and blended in this fragrance which is hard to come by in many perfumes. From the first spray all the way to when it's time to respray, Coral Fantasy does NOT disappoint. This is a MUST HAVE and a SAFE blind buy! I find the other Donna Born in Roma perfumes to be quite screechy but this is not screechy at all. There is a bit of creaminess and softness to this that I really appreciate and keeps me coming back for more. Hats off to Valentino. They seriously nailed it with Coral Fantasy.

Out of the two Ulta fragrance sample sets I purchased back in February as I began my fragrance journey, about 40 samples in total: this is the only one that I fell in love with instantly. Others grew on me, some never really spoke to me, but this one... love at first sniff. I would recommend this to anyone. The tropical, juicy opening is mouthwatering, and the way it settles into the jasmine notes so smoothly just makes me *swoon*. The musky notes in this, the whispers of rose, it all combines flawlessly to make the most beautiful fruity-floral designer perfume I've had the pleasure of trying, so far. Something about this is just perfection to me. It's got something to it that sets it apart from all the other designer fragrances that all start to blur and smell the same after a while. This one never stopped standing out. Maybe I'm just way too into shampoo-y, fruity, jasmine-forward fragrances. Maybe this is just a really basic crowd pleaser and it's not surprising I find it so pleasant. Whatever it is, I'm in love.
