MCM Crush

This was a blind buy gone perfectly well. I hadn't smelled any of MCM's fragrances prior, but I ordered a gift set I just couldn't resist. Starting with the component, this is one of the most unique bottles of perfume in my collection. I own an MCM powder pink stark visetos backpack and having a tiny perfume version of it is just the cutest thing ever. It feels good in the hands, I love how the atomizer is in the gold portion, it has that coated canvas feel to it despite not exactly being coated canvas, it's just really cool. The fragrance itself, however, is the reason this now ranks in my personal top 3. I am an absolute sucker for shampooey, fruity florals and as soon as I sprayed this, I fell in love. This is a beautiful, unique blend that feels both fresh and ozonic, but also has this slightly darker edge to it that gives it an urban, city vibe. I wear this on days when I'm going on an adventure. It's invigorating and makes me feel prepared. I really get the pear and black currant in the top and the May rose and peony combo stands out in the middle. The base really grounds this otherwise refreshing fragrance, giving it a coziness of sorts. I really adore this scent. Overall, some may find this too simple for them, but for me, this is a 10/10. I rarely give any fragrances a perfect score, but I didn't know what to expect and this was better than I'd even hoped for.

A nice freshie fruity-floral without being your typical citrus, with a prominent airy pear and strawberry. Quite similar to Burberry her edt, but not as good. BH edt is divine IMO and has great performance. I'm not too familiar with this brand, here it's sold in department stores along with all the other designer frags and costs about the same. Considering there isn't much of a price difference, I would recommend BH edt over this.

This fragrance is pure fun ~~ MCM Crush instantly makes me smile, and I have to say, the bottle is adorable. It opens with a fresh burst of blackcurrant, pepper, and apricot, sweet, tart, and just a little spicy. The heart is a soft, floral blend of rose, peony, and magnolia, creating an air of romance without being too heavy .... Then the base of cashmere and amber adds a smooth, warm finish that gives it depth and comfort. I picked up a sample of this a couple of weeks ago at Nordstom. The opening is very fruity, more berries than tropical ,and a bit peppery. The notes above say apricot, pear and blackcurrent. I felt like it was a bit strawberry. I like it in the beginning. It morphed into more of a floral in the drydown. It's quite sweet all the way through. There's nothing really wrong with it, it just didn't stand out as anything special for me. And the extreme sweetness just became a bit too much and I had to scrub it. In yesteday's test, I was wearing MCM Crush on one arm and Valentino Donna Born in Roma Coral Fanasy on the other as I keep looking for a longer lasting version of Coral Fantasy. But this was not that. I've tred it 2x now and have decided to put it in my "tested and rejected" shelf and pass my sample on.
