Vétyver Messager

Unique! However, because I’ve smelled a lot of fragrances.... It does smell like Lost in Paris by Roja. Which is also a unique fragrance. Lost in Paris leans more gourmand. Where as vetyver Messager leans more everyday.

This is a stunna 🔥 Not the loudest but smells fantastic. Pleasant surprise.

This is interesting and not what I expected. The opening there is a nutty vetiver with a sweet, creamy backbone. As the vetiver, the sweetness becomes more pronounced in the first 20 minutes and over takes the scent. That creamy sweetness is reminiscent of Zoologist Rabbit. The carrot and iris give it a powdery cleanliness mixing with the fluffy sweet base. The vetiver at this point is just a whisper of what it was in the opening. It’s unisex and not the strongest offering from the house (which I love).

Vétyver Messager is a decent fragrance in its own right, but completely useless in terms of vetiver. There’s hardly any of it here. The scent smells like berry cookies - light, sweetened, and cozy. From the opening, you catch a berry note that gradually warms up thanks to the fragrant, resinous, ambery benzoin. The vetiver is technically present, but only to provide a touch of freshness. None of its other facets - smokiness, nuttiness, earthiness, or that forest-like character are noticeable. It’s a pleasant fragrance: the ambroxan doesn’t stick out with synthetic harshness. The fragrance smells natural, airy, soft, with a sweet berry-woody profile and a rounded biscuit note in the base. It’s very far from true vetiver fragrances like Vétiver by Guerlain, Encre Noire by Lalique, Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford, and many others. It doesn’t resemble any of them. Not bad, but not what you expect from a fragrance with vetiver in its name.

This smells like a sweet gourmand. I get no vetiver. Maybe just me but this smells like the cotton candy sweet aroma chemicals used in BR540 or similar generic scents marketed to young females. Not my thing.
