January 28th 3pm Hotel Cristallo - Cortina

I only got some testers (the full bottle seems to be gone from everywhere by now) but even the first testing immediately made me want more and thankfully I did get more. The testers are in non-spray vials but after having decanted it to a small spray vial, the overall smell appears much better when sprayed. It has an incredible freshness of snow in it as it is described in the homepage. Snow is in the picture too. It is weak and gentle. I was surprised that there exists something like that at all. Something that is suitable for those who don't want that everybody in the room will know there's someone wearing a perfume and this makes it quite ideal to me. As an experiment, I also mixed it with a little bit of Bvlgari's Jasmin Noir (another tester) since it was too strong and this way I got a very enjoyable mixture. Edit 20.07.23: A miracle happened and I got a full bottle from luxuryforless.pl! I had lost my hope already that this is available anywhere anymore (in Europe). I found it accidentally by searching for certain samples from another perfumer. Both my original testers and the bottle are marked as EDP. But the scent from the bottle is stronger and deeper! It has a certain bitter-like tone, possibly ivy. The freshness of snow is even more evident. The bottle had a booklet included which described the whole scene for this scent, partly shown in the photos on the box. Very nicely written and fits well together with the real scent. Looking at the box with photos, the bottle and smelling the scent is like a travel to those places, enjoying snowy sunny day and just being there, in a place like that. Interestingly, while the photo of this bottle shows a very clear bottle, the real colour of the liquid is actually yellow. Maybe this happened over time because it was produced in 2010? I feel like it has become one of my big favourites and is my second "signature" scent. There is an Estonian science fiction movie from 1979 called "Hukkunud alpinisti hotell" ("Dead Mountaineer's Hotel") based on a story written by brothers A. and B. Strugatski. The whole story happens in snowy mountains and the music by Sven Grünberg is more than amazing for this movie. I just feel that one way to celebrate of getting this bottle that reminds me mountains, silence, sun and snow, is to just watch this incredible movie again, this scent brings me to the very place where the story is happening... Edit 26.04.25: watching the movie Dead Mountaineer's Hotel again together with this scent on. It really stands out. Now I realise how this is similar to Chanel's Cristalle Eau Verte and Avon's Magnolia en Fleurs because I realised only now after having smelt those two that this one also has magnolia in it: crisp white like snow. These three are a category of fresh scents of their own.
