@Skitchune I respectfully disagree with your characterization of Memo Paris. They ARE known for their performance. I own 7 of their fragrances -- Eau de Memo, Winter Palace, Ocean Leather, Oriental Leather, French Leather, Flam and Argentina. I can smell their scent on me from the time I spray them on me in the morning on the way to work until I get home in the evening. And the overwhelming majority of "longevity" votes here on Fragrantica for all of the Memo fragrances range from "moderate" to "eternal." Their leather line is especially well-performing, almost too much in some cases (e.g. French Leather). Speaking from the perspective of a male, this fragrance, while very floral, is still wearable for guys -- you just need to get past the first 15 minutes of the strong rose opening. Eventually, the oud-musk-pepper combination adds some testosterone to the formula -- not enough to render it very masculine but enough to make it unisex. If you're a guy looking to add variety to your cologne collection and want something different from the trite woody/leather and citrus/freshie genres, Memo Argentina may be a good option.

Finally decided after years to register an account to post my parfume reviews. I guess Argentina made me do this. Context: I am a 40+ (masculine/fit/bearded) male, South-Asian heritage. Wearing it in 30°C in August. I stumbled on this fragrance while searching for a oud-like summer fragrance with good longevity. Although it's very much a rose fragrance, I just adore this parfume on me. I definitely understand that many would call this a feminine scent, but it works just as good on 'older' men. I do get just a little bit of oud on my skin. It brings me back to being a kid, drinking a rose flavoured milkshake in hot weather. First projection on my skin smelled full on synthetic, but after 10 minutes it beautifully opens up to a fresh sweet rose. But not to sweet. Guys, give it a try.

Completely accidental purchase. I was in a sort of premium department store with the wife and saw Memo Paris outlet. Never knew the brand, sample a few, and it seemed like after few samples which I liked and disliked, the store lady knew what I might be looking for. She offered me Argentina. Sprayed on paper: swept me off my feet. Sprayed on skin: fell in love. Bought it right away. Mind you: I wasn't planning for buying a new fragrance. I never knew I would like rose scent. I never thought I'd spend that much for a fragrance (my most expensive purchase before Argentina was L'artisan Perfumeur)

First off, it goes without saying but the artwork/bottle is perfection - Memo gets me every time. The scent itself is so luxurious and classy feeling. Rose and oud weaved together by the green cypriol and almost bitter leaning florals. Such a nice change from the more predominate, deeply sweet rose/oud combinations (that I also love). I will say the oud doesn't translate in a very literal way so if oud's are not always your thing you might still like this! Moderate sillage and longevity which I actually like because the bitter aspect could be irritating if overly powerful.

Gorgeous. Evocative blend of concrete imagery and delirious abstraction. Blooming red rose, stem included, growing out of a bed of fragrant wood chips. Spicy red clouds and green steam. Too many deep, “spiced” rose scents are loudly fruity and jammy; this isn’t. It’s intense, direct, and vivid without shouting. The realism of the accords and the subtlety of the blend class it several cuts above the field of wood roses, spice roses, musk roses. But I REALLY came here to say I could smell it in the crook of my elbow after showering *the next morning.*

I received a tester from ZGO and am blown away. I smell so good. :) And this stuff really lasts. Have Tamarindo on one arm and Argentina on the other, and Argentina is winning in warmth, longevity and sexiness. I have many Middle Eastern rose frags in my collection, and this somewhat falls into that category but the oud here feels less sharp, more rounded. Dries down to a slightly ambery vanilla. I agree that it is more feminine than unisex. Soooo gorgeous that I think I'm going to have to splurge on a full bottle.

Very classic and elegant parfume. Definitely not for young ages. I feel I can wear this to a meeting or official occasions. I find it more feminine than masculine. The jasmin and magnolia are there and strong. It drys down to a powdery level. It keeps developing on my skin. It reminds me of Hypnotic Poison by Dior when dry down but this one is way more beautiful. Also it has a hint from High Frequency by Initio but way more classy, feminine, smooth.. I can tell its gorgeous by itself.

Well damn...I received a sample of this with my last Memo Paris purchase and ugghh...I love it! So much depth with this rose-oud combo. How they made a rose - oud fragrance smell so light and feminine is beyond me. I'm smitten and I can't stop smelling myself. I do agree with a previous post about it being similar to TF Noir de Noir (which I have), but this is much more beautiful. Is it FB worthy? Perhaps..Will I buy it? Yes! UPDATE: Bought a FB. I'm happy.

A beautiful take on rose; Slightly reminiscent of that found in Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir, however, the truffle/chocolate vibe of the latter is here replaced by a beautiful magnolia and lively jasmine. Gorgeous juicy, uplifting rose, white floral fragrance. I get about 8 hours of longevity with good projection and sillage for around 5. Needless to say, it’s gorgeous- I ran to buy a bottle after just 1 day of testing.

Gorgeous English gardeny rose with a slight green stem underneath ( perhaps from the base note or maybe even the lemony magnolia?) The oud is barely there but I believe it plays the role of tempering the floral so it doesn’t become cloying. This was a blind buy for me and my expectations where met ( which as you probably know doesn’t happen a lot) . Looking forward to trying more from this house.

If I say the most beautiful oud rose combo when it comes to a luxurious and light rose Oud combo ! No vanilla bc if you include vanilla OSM by MFK is the best! No resins if you include them Goudh by Fugazzi is the best! No raspberry bc if you include it Ombré Nomade is the best! But compared to Noir De Noir ? This is by far the best and way better smelling!

Certainly not the rose I expected. Nice but out of expectation in a not too nice way. Smelled bitter to my nose but not in intolerable way. So it became like instead of love. Edit. Towards the dry down, this came very close to being Noir de Noir. So I change from like to love. Compared to this, NdN’s longevity and silage sucks bad.

Tired of rose/oud scents all smelling the same? This is different, interesting and very well blended. Sample first - not a safe blind buy.

Rose oud plus. Plus lovely soft musks. Plus beautiful florals. Just wow! I was still getting whiffs from my arm 12 hours after applying.

Memo copied Noir de Noir and thought no one would notice... ... but they did a good job so I'm not complaining. Really the only difference I can tell between this and Noir de Noir is the lack of a truffle note. It's a weird smell that I don't know how to describe other than a sweet, pulpy fruitiness I personally don't like, so in a way I appreciate it not being here at all. During the opening hour there is a noticeable patchouli earthiness up close on skin, definitely not oud nor an oud accord to my nose, that contrasts very well with the rose. After that first hour this earthiness is gone and you're left with a nice powdery rose. This smells high quality and refined, it's totally worth checking out if you're getting into Memo as a house. I prefer darker and earthier rose scents so I wouldn't own or gravitate towards this but I like it a lot. Performance is really good overall. Projection started off strong but mellowed out to a more moderate one after a short while from what I could tell. Sillage is dense and I could smell myself for several hours without a problem. Longevity is great too, lasting 8 hours without a problem.

Argentina is a "daywear" take on Noir de Noir. It is soapier and cleaner, while retaining that same earthy patchouli note, which makes for a "lighter" but not necessarily brighter take on it. The opening smells much more stronger of rose, but the dry down really is just a more watery (not watered down) NDN. There's also a white floral sort of creaminess that peeks in somewhere along the dry down. [If you actually want an even airier and almost waxy sort of NDN, you can try Dior Privee Gris Dior.] I do think they are redundant if you are thinking of buying this or Noir De Noir. My bet would be to just get NDN, but I do see the "daywear" aspect of it could be something one could take into consideration. The projection isn't as strong nor does it stay long, but I think there are times when you don't want something to last as long as you want, like in the office, for instance. So, this could be a good pick, but just remember to weigh in what you value like performance. MEMO isn't really house known for powerhouse fragrance, though Winter Palace is certainly a beautiful example of their better performing ones.

Soft. The oud is barely detectable. Leans feminine. Smells like a classic rose perfume. Pleasant. The smell of a red rose, associated with women in their 30s or 40s. Not a dewy fresh rose, but not the rose of an older person either. If you like rose scents I'd check it out, don't let the oud scare you. If you are looking for a rose/oud combo and you actually like oud, this isn't going to satisfy you. I was told that from a distance of about three feet, this smells like 'biscuits.' Up close you get roses, though. You do wake up after wearing this with a sweet vanilla trace on your body. But there's no vanilla listed here. That might account for the biscuit-accord people get when I wear this. It's very soft and stays close to the body, so don't expect a lot of projection and sillage from this one.

When it comes to dark, mysterious rose scents; especially rose-oud pairings; nothing has topped this one for me, which is why I saved it for last. It has exactly the right dose of oud, a surge of deep, blood-red roses, soapy jasmine, and a pronounced nagarmotha note. Curiously, I don’t detect the ambrette at first, but it reveals itself in the drydown. You really have to be comfortable with nagarmotha to enjoy this fragrance, because it’s unmistakable here. (Rose of No Man’s Land has a similar papyrus nuance, but this perfume takes things further with the addition of jasmine.) To my nose, it’s a truly unisex scent, and its longevity is excellent.

I can perfectly see the comparisons with TF NDN, although the latter is remarkably darker, denser and sexier. Argentina is essentially an impeccable elegant rose mixed with airy florals that will put you at your nicest mood whenever you’ll wear it. Memo is one of my favorite brands and, as a male, I focus on wearing their magnificent leathers but Argentina captivated me even from the first sample. Sillage is not enormous but longevity is, and your couple will surely praise your taste

Pleasant rose scent with some debt coming from other ingredients. I guess it's Ambrette. The rose smell is realistic and well done. It does not smell cheap and it's not a loud in your face rose scent like so many companies are making these days. Not an overly girly and feminine rose scent and to me this is a plus. Maybe something I would buy if the price was 2/3 of what it is right now.

a soft rose mixed with sweet but not overly sweet oud, 7/10 with good longevity thou some other oud rose combos ( actually most of them) outperformed this one ın my opinion both in performance and in smell, get MFK oud satin mood edp or anything from the oud silk line or ıf you have a lower budget Jo Malone velvet oud rose thing is better than this one considering the price tag

Very nice rose, musky fragrance. If you like this kind of fragrances, you differently should try it. It's very similar to Montale Roses Musk but a bit more delicate, pleasant and sexy to wear it. That's why it's a bit overpriced to me-it's too close to much cheaper fragrance. It's very suitable for all seasons, especially at spring nights and autumn days.

Don't let the votes fool you; second to the rose is the ambrette—musky, dusty, and almost nutmeg-like; paired with the sparkling pink pepper, sweet jasmine, and the deep cypriol, it had my senses soar like the beautiful birds on the bottle. Not a typical "rose-oud"

I think Argentina is a misleading name for this fragrance as the rose-oud combination feels classically Middle Eastern. It’s a really lovely, heady blend. Not a groundbreaking combination of notes by any means but it’s very pretty.

Very very sweet, and very very intense. Apply sparingly. But if applied correctly, it's lovely. Warm and very sexy.

Memo’s fragrances are usually ordinary, but I think they did a great job with this rose scent. With a dark touch, it feels like you’re smelling real rosebuds—beautiful, in the style of Nawab of Oud, soft and not at all disturbing.

Came off as briny olives on my skin, unfortunately! all around an okay fragrance but not on me, sadly.

I sampled three memo fragrances and this interesting fragrance was one of them. Will you be offended if I say I wouldn't be happy to have someone around me smelling of this? I don't believe this is a safe blind buy in any way, it smells like leather gone bad to me. That's all.

I'm a Gen X scent junkie whose nose and preferences were developed well prior to CK One, so unisex frags are rarely my cup of tea.... I'm also an oud newbie, having only sampled about a dozen fragrances containing it in the last couple of years, finding I prefer it muzzled and wearing a prong collar.... I also am not a huge rose fan, typically preferring white florals or citrus.... I also don't prefer powder notes, whether face, talcum, or confectionary. If there's an overdose of magnolia or orris in a fragrance, it's pretty good odds I'll hate it..... So when I ordered Argentina among a set of Memo Paris samples, I figured it would be more of an educational experience, but that I'd probably like it least out of the set (which also included Marfa, Siwa, Lalibela, Sintra, and Grenada). BOY WAS I WRONG. I realize oud-rose is a standard combo, but the rose here is so wonderfully well-rounded...cream and spice in a lovely harmony. The oud is just the way I prefer...supportive, sweetly seductive, softly smoldering in the background. The use of cypriol and pink pepper to bolster the neutered oud and complement the creaminess of the roses and jasmine, to add a touch of smooth woody smoke and spice, is divine to my nose. The restrained use of magnolia adds just the right amount of powder, so that the whole composition, even given all the heavy-hitter ingredients, reads clean and quilted. The whole thing is sweetly sophisticated, joyously novel (at least to me), and develops like silk on my skin. Sillage is arm's length and longevity is all day. Argentina was a big surprise for me. It's probably the most interesting, pleasant, AND wearable perfume I've encountered in a long time. In Argentina, notes that I typically would not prefer are balanced and juxtaposed such that I am getting to encounter them almost anew, and have to amend many of my long-standing stated preferences.

First off, the packaging. You get an absolutely beautiful gift out of this or the other Memo perfumes that come in that fitted box with the illustrated old world map. The bottle has the two birds on it which is just lovely. As for the scent, it is to my nose a unique and independent type of smell. I 'get' the comparisons to Tom Ford's Noir de Noir, which I had smelled prior to ever inhaling this fume. But I didn't think it was that much like it. This has a mysterious charm. It is what I imagined an indie niche fragrance would smell like. At first it's that 'perfume' scent which is heavily floral and in your face floral, sweet and hyper feminine. The pink pepper comes through and pink roses. The sweetness of roses is then followed by soft white florals, namely jasmine and magnolia. The florals are heady and powdery. Then it becomes a mostly woody scent, but it has a vague herbal and medicinal smell that can fall into unisex or indie niche weirdness similar to what you find in Imaginary Authors fragrances. This smells like an olfactory depiction of Argentina's rose gardens and forests. Smells of wild roses and of deep dark forests. The green notes courtesy of cypriol, and patchouli (unlisted note) give it a unisex vibe but still leaning feminine. The florals are the real stars in this scent. If you like roses and jasmine, this is a gorgeous bouquet of both florals thrown together in a strange but pleasant way. This is best worn in spring or summer, and has minimal projection and duration. A little on the neck or chest is enough and can last you through a short evening or date. It comes off as formal and not casual and has a romantic vibe.

This is slightly greener (Cypriol?) and slightly dryer (than syrupy) in comparison to Soprano by Sospiro/Xerjoff and TF Noir de Noir. There are differences, ofc, which may make you prefer one over the other in that scent profile. The rose here is more beautiful. It’s finer and more woodsy and dryer and a tad bit masculine a la Cartier Declaration d’Un Soir EDT. The oud in Soprano feels more creamy from the sandalwood, and there’s more sweetness by syrupy vanilla and milky notes. Noir de Noir is dark and dense, more nighttime and demanding as it’s definitely not green. Argentina is more refined, more sophisticated, and to me it doesn’t screen “sexy”, but oh so well put together and magnetic. And definitely a bit more woodsy and dry compared to both (no sandalwood syrupy vanilla milk touch or sweet saffron). No one knows what your skin will pull as notes, therefore some aspects here (like antique wooden furniture from the nagramotha + pepper) may not be noticeable on you, but may set well in your clothes. I’m not sure which one I prefer as I don’t feel like wearing them, but I enjoy smelling them and Argentina is the most mature, intellectual, careful and presentable one, Noir de Noir is more like “I sold my soul to the devil, but it’s worth it” sophisticated, dark and sexy, while Soprano is more ... party, lush, dense, sweet and spirited and slightly more feminine. If I’m to pick one if I absolutely must, this would be Argentina, as it doesn’t tire me over time and I seem to prefer the dry green side of the cypriol in it. In the meantime I’ll be plotting on how to get my hands on the other two.

My first instinct was that this smells of Maa'moul (mixed -oud/wood/floral- incense pellets popular in the Arab world) and not a particularly expensive one at that. You get an exciting and oddly mouthwatering combination of girlish turkish rose and citrusy sharp but inoffensive hyper-aromatic white florals (i thought it was orange blossom but it seems to have been the combination of pink pepper/ jasmine/magnolia) . The oud is a spectral presence, relegated to the back and robbed of its power and influence. The woodiness likewise teeters on the edge of fake. The composite wood of woods, if you will. The fragrance seems fun and lighthearted but the aromas unfortunately don't knit together in the end. The potential elegance of the oud, pepper and cypriol as a backbone to the powerful florals is never realised. This perfume is fine for a commercial house at a 25-30 dollar price point. Not very chic, not luxurious-smelling, not telling any kind of story.

-Argentina was a pleasant surprise. -Like opening the door to your 3 star accommodation only to find they went the extra mile to scent your sheets with lavender sachets and little chocolates. -Back to the scent itself: Argentina is a lovely rose scent that doesn't scream 'look at me' at the top of its lungs with loud patchouli or young juicy notes. It is a demure scent suited for anyone aged 20 and up. This rose scent contains the right amount of powdery notes that help ground it (and hence stay on for longer). It isn't at all vintage-smelling. A pretty nice surprise from the house of Memo Paris. -One might mistake this as a creation from the house of Maison Dior in a blind sniff test. (-)

Definitely not another rose perfume! This is complex and not for everyone or everyday. It has to suit your mood, maybe more winter rose to my nose. The way it develops it's quite unique, the rose powerful at first after a couple of hours it goes down to the earthy side, then the ambrette lingers for a long time with just the right amount of oud. The white flowers are beautifully blended too. It is definitely a great scent, very well done!

Pretty pink, slightly powdery (yet jammy) rose and tuberose textured scent. I also find myrrh, tonka, hint of incense, hint of honey and a boozy, fortified wine-type of sweetness. Quite linear, what you sniff is what you get. A very pretty scent in general but I wish the background notes would take a big step forward to share the space a bit better.

First things first: this brand is beautiful and I like most things they make. Now as for Argentina ... if you grew up between the 90s and the early 2000s and loathe the Millennial overdose of patchouli and ethyl maltol that flooded the market between 2010 and 2020 then you will probably not like this because it is just that.

One of those smells I'm trying to force myself to like because it's delightful, but I can't decide if it's too soft for regular wearing in my particular case. It's really pretty though, I need to sit with the sample for a while before diving into a full bottle given the price point.

Gorgeous unique musky rose that's done in an earthy, yet not dirty, natural way as opposed to the popular synthetic clean musk roses, the oud essence is very subtle, only giving some depth and mystique to the fragrance. Good performance

Smelt it today...For me strongly resembles Fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens...Both are gorgeous. Natural, rich, red rose & geranium, that's what I smell! I want a full bottle for this Christmas from my family...

This reminded me a lot of the wild rose bushes in the south of Argentina during the morning hikes in the Bariloche forests. It’s pink, warm, mature, masculine and slightly powdery.

Smells very middle eastern and that's the last thing I want to smell like. Cheap form of rose and cheap oud combo. Smells like a middle eastern old man and not in a nice way.

This is a jammy, sugary roses blend. It’s delicious, gourmand, I imagine Turkey more than Argentina like rose loukoum 🌹 To me it’s very close to Ardent from Boadicea

Got a FB yesterday after trying it on for half a day. Absolutely stunning rose and oud combo. It feels like French Leather and Argentina are closer cousins

I agree this is a lighter noir de noir maybe rouge de rouge or marron de marron? Nice to wear and when NdN is too heavy, this can be the reach.

I received a tester of this from a fragrance I ordered. I don't think I have anything quite like this fragrance. Definitely FBW in my book.
