Portobello Road

I can not say enough good things about Portobello Road. First, it's the only current myrtle that isn't hyper-masc. I have Notre Myrte from L'Occitane, long discontinued, but too rich for an everyday scent. This, oh my, this IS. It's aromatic, vaguely aquatic, with the myrtle and rose twisting together to lift each other up. It's green, damp, dew on roses, sea spray on myrtle and fresh rain on the road. This is my 4th Memo acquisition and I think it's the best freshie in their portfolio. Now I'm running off to learn more about the perfumer, Alienor Massenet, because I don't know anything about her except Portobello Road. I want to learn more! 10/10, blind buy safe if you like the category. I'd even say this is friendly for green-curious (get a decant!). Edit: Lol, she created every Memo I own. Now it's time to see what she's created for other houses. Love finding a perfumer who speaks my olfactory language!

Portobello Road from Memo Paris is a masterpiece of a fragrance. It’s the first time I try one of their fragrances and I am completely mesmerized by the scent and composition. Unlike any other of my fragrances at home, and I have over 300. I tried it in store the first time and when I was walking in the city on my way home I got stopped by a woman asking me what I was wearing. She had caught the scent when I passed her on the street and she followed me a few steps to ask me what I was wearing. On my skin this is an amazing green (but not bitter), fresh and floral scent. The flowers and the sweetness, because there is some, are the main characters on me. It’s elegant and refined, not a mainstream fragrance. I am loving it and have been wearing it every day since I bought it a week ago. Loving it.

When I was a child living in central Florida, in the spring and summer, it would rain every day at 4:30 pm like clockwork. We all knew it. At 5 pm it usually stopped. I would usually either walk to or from my friends house on the paved road past an Orange Grove/orchard. The rain on the asphalt, combined with the orange blossoms was a scent I would never forget. From the first time I smelled this fragrance, I was transported back to a time a 7 year old boy was walking home and unknowingly forming a life long cherished scent memory. This is one of my forever fragrances. I will repurchase it every time the bottle empties. An added plus is I have never had a time I wore Portobello Road and not had someone compliment me and/or ask me what fragrance I am wearing.

it was an unplanned purchase, but I think I got lucky with it..the opening is beautiful, yet I enjoyed the Rossy dry down a lot. I loved it more on fabric more then skin. Over all 9/10

Portobello Road is a perfect release for spring. Very fresh, tart, and green. I do not get a very distinct wet asphalt or wet dirt road from this, but I do get a green garden (not a floral garden) or a spring meadow along the side of the forest after the spring rain. I do not get much citrus or rose, but I do get greenness from leaves and clary sage or/and myrtle. It feels like spending time on a terrace of countryside cottage with a cup of cool unsweetened lemonade or iced tea while being surrounded by tranquility and freshness of green spring nature after a spring rain. On my cool skin the fragrance remain relatively linear after the top notes ware off. The sillage and longevity are moderate and on par with the rest of Memo fragrances. I find Portobello Road to be unisex, daytime fragrance best suited for spring and summer days.

Earthy green scent, like an old persons garden when it is wet outside. There is some tomato leaf feeling here. It feels complex but also simple. Would probably not wear this.

I have been to Portobello Road a few times and it's nice. I got a sample of this. This one is mixed for me, it's nice and like that it is different. It is fresh. It definitely would suit the vibe. I don't like mandarin orange which is an annoying note for me but you do get a lot of it. I don't even know how they managed to get asphalt extracted into a fragrance. It's nice but don't know if I would buy it though.

Looking at the notes my mind flew away, myrtle and rain... but the scent unfortunately is sweetish, patchouli, rose, a note similar to ozonic violet leaf and a gasoline smell. At least that's how it projected on me. For a moment I thought I was smelling CdG rather than Memo, because it has a very industrial vibe. The sweetness level in this scent bummed me out, I couldn't find what I was expecting. I've never walked down Portobello Road, maybe that's why I couldn't relate... (I have read The Portobello Witch though, haha). I think there are markets selling antique things here... Tag(s): rose, patchouli, sweet, gasoline

The top notes of myrtle and rose go really well together. And the additional sharp green nuances—something that reminds my nose of grapefruit, such as styrallyl acetate—are also nice. However, as the scent lingers, it becomes sweeter, and the coumarin nuances unique to clary sage become stronger, which is not to my liking. But the “asphalt” note mentioned in the description is based on patchouli and has a strange, earthy scent that really brings that image to mind. I like it.

Big feminine rose diva. This scent smells like big red roses. They added some myrtle that feels just like dewy green leaves. I don't know what they used to make their "asphalt" accord but I am thankful I can't smell it at all! really if they used any ambroxan or another toxic fume it was so little I can't perceive it (we have a potential winner) This is for people who crave smelling like dramatic roses but do not want to admit it. I like this rose.

Like standing in middle of a blooming park in a breezy drizzling afternoon .. I was ready for a twist with that interesting sphelt note , but its just a cold aquatic rose done with high quality materials .. Problem is , im not even a fan for this kind of profile , i think its inoffensive but not something i wanna wear so i'll pass .. but if u are then this one was crafted perfectly for you give it a try P.S: its very feminine ..

Does anyone know where to het a sample of this in the US? It isn't on scentsplit or luckyscent. If you are willing to send me a decant let me know!
