Rose Paris Rose

As a green rose lover, this is a hit, one of the best I’ve smelled. Aromaticity makes it unisex and that’s just what I like. But saldy I don’t think I can’t justify the price point in this economy. Beautiful nonetheless.

I've heard the perfume has been made Paris-exclusive, but luckily it is now officially released in South Korea as well--though the bottle is less prettier than the original bottle with the gold wings. Top notes are quite straightforward and can be expressed as 'rose+aromatic'. Although the perfume doesn't have osmanthus note in it, overall impression of it reminds me of the same house (Memo)'s Inle. The base note is totally different--guaiac wood is very dominant. To me, just by smelling the base note, it almost feels like a different perfume, compared to the rosy top note. I love the top note and base note each by itself, but I'm not sure if a general flow from the top to the base note is smooth.

This is a verrrrryyyy dewy, fresh, and slightly green rose. I imagine a pink rose bud on an early morning or summer afternoon. Although I feel like this scent can be worn for date nights by some, to me it screams spring or summer morning. I do not see this on man whatsoever. The longevity is quite good, solid 5-6 hours. The projection is week to moderate. To me, this is in the same category as Perfume de Marley Delina la Rose. They do not smell similar, but they are in the same category. Highly recommend for the lovers of dewy slightly green rose.

Memo's product page lists more notes: "At once sparkling, honeyed and suave, Rose Paris Rose exalts the memory of Paris: its light provided by citrus notes, the dream continues with a sensual breeze of roses warmed by guaiac oil and essence of davana. / Rose Essence, Davana Essence, Gaiac Oil / Grapefruit, Orange Brazil, Bergamot, Cinnamon, Orange blossom, Petit grain Paraguay, Peru balsam absolut, Cedar, Patchouli, Musk, Woody amber." Anyway, I was excited to try a decant of what I thought would be another precious and memorable rose from Memo (I'm obsessed with Argentina). It's a watery, sparkly rose that shows a fresh green face and dries down to spiced wood. Intimate, lasting, stays fresh. Ver-ry fruity. Something about it doesn't sit right with me. I agree with cdr131 down there that it's not a smooth ride. The spice/wood layer smacks of potpourri. Worse, the balsamic accord plus all that citrus teeters between "fruity-playful" and "actual vinegar."
