Isola

Meo has been in my collection for a few years now. Judging by all of the recent comments, it is apparent that this brand is complicated. How many times am I going to read that people have a love-hate relationship with the brand? I thought I did as well. But it turns out I simply didn't understand. I think I'm starting to now and I am falling in love more more every day. The fragrance I have on right now is ISOLA. Intentional of course. Today is July 15 2026 and it's going to be 106° Fahrenheit in California today. At least where I live. That's hot. Thank God it's a dry heat. I thought today would be perfect to sample this fragrance for the second time. I enjoyed it the first time, but I knew I needed to experience it again to understand it. And I was right. This is an excellent citrus. Better than I thought it was. I hear people complaining that it doesn't have the dark aspect the brand is associated with. And I'm glad! I don't understand why you would want that in a fragrance like this. This is such a tart, strong evocative citrus, and that's extremely difficult to do when you are working with citrus beast ingredients. The organic DNA structure of some of these ingredients cannot be changed and naturally dissipate or dissolve rather quickly. That's why most citrus fragrances don't last. So how did he do it? I have no idea. Lol. But he did indeed flex his muscles in the fragrance world. I don't think you can get any better in weather like this. I am 100% satisfied. It's refreshing but not translucent. It has a little bit of lavender, but not enough to overpower it. There is green in here, but balanced. Maintains the independent/niche style even though it is a mainstream composition so to speak. It checks all of the boxes that I want right now. Because this is not for introductory connoisseurs; you have to like meo fuschini as a brand to begin with in order to like this. But that's exactly where I am and that's exactly what I want. As of right now, it's my favorite fragrance at the summer.

A light aromatic greeness perfect for a refreshing summer. Minty, green and citrusy fresh (despite not overly juicy) So optimistic and fun it will almost make you laugh (; Can’t smell much lavender, tea nor patchouli, This is just the most aromatic and green bunch of mint in the world, in all its beautiful facets and -> without too much menthol itself By far my favourite mint on the market (together with its complete opposite, enclave) A note I normally struggle a lot with. Refreshing fun, perfect for the pool or a walk in nature (;

A true revelation in Meo’s creations so far, a turning point. A contrast. Something truly new, grounded in fresh crisp yuzu with a backbone of lavender & the sensitivity of soft neroli that gives a 2 face facet of marine quality. Picture this, sipping on your yuzu beverage while another is being poured in front of you into a glass full of ice while the fizzy bubbles land on your face with the fresh breeze from the sea. This one lifts you up, summer spirit in a bottle. Love it.

A fascinating scent. Giuseppe really knows how to evoke a scene with his perfumes. For this one I felt like I walked into a fancy Manhattan hotel at the end of spring. I understand men/masc not liking this scent or thinking it smells like other mens scents because of the notes because this is definitely a more feminine perfume. I think it fits right into the dark and complex profile for a gothic scent.

if I had to have one citrus scent, this one would be it. photorealistic, emotional beauty that lasts forever and is engaging all the way through.

Isola is super fresh, citrusy, energetic and pleasing. It’s very uplifting. The open grabs your attention with a wave of clean green lemon goodness. It literally will give you some bouyance, put a pep in your step. This wave of intense energy lasts about an hour and a half, then comes a lightly floral/musky/citrus and caloney type heart and dry down that’s a bit more calm and commonplace, but extremely easy to wear and still refreshing. The entire life of the perfume on skin is more than 8 hours, which is really good for a freshie. It casts a good scent bubble the first few hours. I enjoyed wearing this little crowd pleaser but I’m going to give it to my husband this morning, as we go to watch a graduation outdoors in the 95 degree heat wave. I feel sure this perfume will keep him from feeling wilted. Isola isn’t ground breaking, but it’s really nice on a hot day.

My first fragrance I am trying from Meo Fusciuni. Very citrusy with a light floral and herbal presence. Yuzu has been an obsession of mine lately and its hard to distinguish it in this fragrance. But there is the bitter citrus feel that I enjoy. Bergamot is bright and lightly floral, lemon is vibrant and sour, mandarin is a bit on the sweet side with a heavier juicy presence, yuzu is bright and bitter, and blood orange is probably the most. Magnolia becomes more forward as it begins to dry down. Green and lactonic is what makes magnolia something unique in a perfume and this does it well. Very nice fragrance for the summer/spring or any type of warmer weather. 8/10

Starts out with a strong, fresh citrus-forwardness, not overly sweet but also not particularly astringent - lemon zest or pith with the rest of the lemon. It quickly develops a green, herbal leafiness with just a HINT of patchouli that blends with the lemon and eventually overpowers it almost entirely, leaving the impression of standing in a lemon grove where most of the trees have been stripped of their fruit. I don't get any lavender at all from this.

Niche version of Versace Pour Homme - citrus and lots of aquatic synthetics. I expected such release from the house in the vein of Parfums de Marly, not Meo Fusciuni.

You can see in the comments various very different opinions and takes on this scent. Every one of them is right at the same time. I have never tried a fragrance with so many facets and yet delivered on every one of them. On my first try, this is definitely a calone bomb. I thought it was very synthetic and disappointing. There is a hint of yuzu here, but it is kinda like the citrus picture on its box. Like a yuzu that has been robbed of its light, black and white. A more subdued, flat, depressed citrus not as juicy and uplifting as other fragrances with this note. A week later, I returned to it on a whim not expecting much. On the opening, ZING! Where is this sparkling, carbonated yuzu sensation came from? I just had a unsweetened yuzu soda not long before, and this is an identical scent and sensation to that. If you never had yuzu before, it is a much drier, sharper scent than lemon, and maybe from that photorealistic dryness that I have gotten that subdued impression from before. And more interestingly, his use of calone might have contribute to the dryness that make this smell so life like. Still smells like a calone bomb though. Third try, same yuzu soda opening as before. But on the air as it dries down, suddenly, is that same calone sensation again, but is it actually calone? I went around my house looking for reference, and then realized, it's actually an herbal scent, it's Lavender! Now I am started to doubt myself again was what I smell before was calone. Maybe it was, but it also blended beautifully with the lavender to bring out its herbal facet instead of soapy. It's beatiful when paired with the yuzu. I am still not sure if I like this or not. It seems like every time I wear this, it's a different experience as I get to know it. It's a simple genre of fragrance, easily comparable to light blue or acqua di gio, yet done with so much complexity and poetry. It's a lot of calone, but I think it is intentional perfumery instead of meo trying to be cheap or mainstream. And I think it's a great exercise on how you mind set and what you read/watch can change what you are smelling.

Isola is definitely one of my favorite Meo creations. It opens with a beautiful burst of sweet green lemon—icy, sparkling, and incredibly refreshing. Unfortunately, this citrusy opening only lasts about ten minutes. Soon after, the fragrance shifts towards marine accords, with calone clearly present. While this note can often feel synthetic, here it’s well balanced and doesn’t overwhelm the composition. As it develops, Isola reveals a floral-aromatic heart: a clean, dry lavender that might even appeal to those who usually dislike lavender. It’s not sweet, but rather crisp and airy. After about an hour on the skin, the scent settles into an elegant dry down—floral, aromatic, with subtle marine undertones and a faint citrus echo, like the zest of a fruit lingering on the skin. Around the five-hour mark, it becomes a skin scent, soft but still perceptible. Overall, it’s a well-crafted fragrance—poetic and consistent with Fusciuni’s style. However, the price-to-performance ratio is debatable, especially considering its modest longevity and projection.

🍋 Yuzu in the Fridge of a Japanese Shop 🍋 I walk into a tiny countryside shop. No idea how this Japanese drink ended up here, but there it is in the fridge between Frugo and Hella. Yuzu—cold, tart, drops of condensation on the glass. The bottle is icy, the label covered in kanji I can’t read. I open it. Pssst, the fizz escapes, citrus bursts out. This isn’t a regular lemon; yuzu is sharper, greener, with a hint of bitter peel. The first sip—sour as hell, but refreshing. A trace of lavender drifts in the background, light as steam over tea. Neroli adds a touch of sweetness, but everything stays clean and clear. I step outside. Kids are running and shouting, summer spilling everywhere. I sit on a bench, drink in hand, tasting pure ease. Nice, but there will be plenty more moments like this all summer. Like Isola—pleasant, fresh, but not quite memorable. @the.scent.files

Sample review - I’ve had this on my skin for around 9 hours, and showered since applying. I can still faintly smell it now. I sprayed twice on both arms. For me, the longevity has been really good. As I've moved around I’ve smelt it linger around me, it’s been really hot today and it’s sat on my skin beautifully. This has become an instant want for a bottle as soon as. It is perfect for the summer. And in the winter months I can imagine craving warmer days whilst wearing this. There’s a warmth to this, it feels like the happiest of hugs. It’s not just a citrus - there’s something mysterious about this. It’s not a boring citrus, like all Meo Fusciuni perfumes it’s real art. Beautiful, happiness, sunny.

[decant/hand test/first impression] Fantastic fresh, invigorating, sparkling citrusy opening, but unfortunately in ~10 minutes dries down to something like little more complex, higher quality Light Blue Intense Pour Homme D&G. Dissapointed, wasted potential. I'm not saying it's bad, but imo it's just average, marinistic, mainstream scent. Performance is totally fine, as expected.

It’s nice, not wow, but an enjoyable offering from a good house. The first time I smelled it I was underwhelmed, months later I put on my sample and it’s lovely. Not a full bottle option for me as I try to keep my collection <50 bottles, and I would most likely want to wear something else, but this is absolutely fine.
