Spirito

There are some people who speak to us without words, for whatever reason we feel their soul without even knowing them. When a friend first told me about Meo Fusciuni, I wasn’t familiar with him so I looked him up. And as soon as I began learning about him, I can’t explain it, I just felt his soul. Without even smelling his perfume, I knew I would relate to it. Six bottles later I can confirm it. Meo’s creations just speak to me. He has his own unique style, gentle and poetic as his nature, thoughtful, meaningful. Polite and aware, well mannered, but unusual. I just received a sample of his latest creation, Spirito, and upon spraying it, I was immediately rendered sort of speechless. A flawless fougere with a very slight oriental feel. I find it...perfection. Spirito is the epitome of elegance, a perfect harmony of refinement, introspection and nature. Timeless, classic, a beautiful aromatic with some of the best vetiver I have smelled. If you love classic, green, masculine scents this is a must try. After an hour or so the florals peek out more and it gets slightly sweeter, so despite this being a classic masculine and rather “dapper” sort of scent, I find it rather unisex. In the drydown the vetiver becomes prominent and the MF signature is felt more. It’s more of a sweet vetiver not a super dry or rooty one. Spirito was inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson and beauty of New England. Spirito is one of the most beautiful and elegant fougeres I have ever smelled. Old world magic, when men wore 3 piece suits and top hats, but always removed them out of politeness to give a warm welcome. Powdery and aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced but still retaining Meo’s poetic soul and signature.

I absolutely love this one. I connect with what he wanted to express by his soul. My soul also woke up and transform to the place where he created by the olfaltve power. Perfumarily review is not that important at this time. I thought it is a vetiver centered perfume only; I was wrong, it is even more than a perfume. It tells a story so vivid for me, like it has the power to free my soul in the poetic imaginary world. But I would describe it is green, it is full, it is grassy but not as fresh as some other grassy super green fragrance. It contains body and keeps going all the way for 4-6 hours than there's more and more vetiver in the dry down. It stole my heart, and it would be not only for personal enjoyment but also office safe one without offensive intentions. Very nice. Wonderfully made!! I want to know his other fragrances, he is so different in his works. But at this price tag, if one doesn't want to spend in quality and depths, I accidentally found it is similar to Oud Vibrant Leather from Zara in some aspects, though Oud Vibrant Leather from Zara would never transport me like Spirito. Oud Vibrant Leather remains mostly the same after 6 hours and faid away, while Spirito is SO FULL after 8 hours with so different dry down of wonderful Bourbon Vetiver with sweat notes.

Ethereal. The air is thick with the scent of cypress and angelica, a darkness hangs heavy. Dry and powdery. The pages of a long abandoned book, coated in dust and shrouded in a ghostly haze. Herbal, vaporous, remarkable.

The basic 90s aquatic template, and make it insane, exquisite, sumptuous and nutty, this is the result. Wonderful.

If I were asked to choose one perfumer, it would be Giuseppe Impezzabile aka. Meo Fusciuni.
