Mercedes Benz Club Black Eau de Parfum

I own both the EDT and the new EDP; in truth? They're nearly identical, despite the different note break down, these resemble one another to an easy 99%! I've never smelled such similar DNA from an edt to an edp. So on those merits alone I LOVE. As a guy who loves vanilla, it's a win! HOWEVER, as others have said, the EDP feels like the EDT, if you look at the alcohol content the EDP has more, so it's technically an EDT! Yet, the EDP is more unisex and vanilla, but recall they're virtually identical. . . If you own the EDT there's no reason to get this, im let down simply due to the fact it's literally just repackaged, a rain drop more vanilla, and a rice grain less wood. . . The EDP last a few hours less than EDT but still a great vanilla fragrance. . . Mercedes Benz must have really needed the money to do such a disingenuous flanker! So on morals alone this is offensive! Their dry downs to me are 100% identical... the opening in the EDP is slightly more vanilla, So long story short, get the EDT if you're a guy looking for a true vanilla scent, or if you want a unisex vanilla get the EDP Lastly, you'd think having 3 well known perfumers could produce something special, but I can honestly say these perfumers never even worked on this fragrance, they merely got a pay check to have their name slapped on the label.... seriously it's literally the EDT slightly diluted with a DRIP more vanilla, no conifer detected... I disagree saying it smells cheap but really let down! DO BETTER MERCEDES-BENZ, you have so many sleeper hits but you can't deem this acceptable. . . Easy cash grab for them with ZERO WORK... As much as I LOVE club black, I can't support this brand anymore, I'll find another vanilla fragrance

After wearing it all winter id still prefer the EDT. Mercedes-Benz Club Black EDP although claiming its an eau de parfum it performs like an eau de toilette. Its technically an EDT since its alcohol content is more than the EDT which is bizarre (check ingredients!); But thats the reality of the fragrance world, there are no regulations on concentration & what you name it. Club Black EDP has a very similar dry down to the EDT but their openings are different. Club Black EDP comes off very unisex, while the EDT leans masculine. Club Black EDP is very vanilla, almost pure vanilla, that smells identical to several Lataffa unisex vanilla fragrances that are very popular. I just wish with so many legendary perfumers they would have made something unique. So I still love Club Black line but EDT last longer & smells better. My sister prefers the EDP due to it smelling identical to many popular vanilla scents on the market. So stick to the EDT if you want more traditional masculine vanilla, or EDP for unisex vanilla that leans slightly masculine as it dries down; but then again all fragrance is unisex technically but no note is more unisex than vanilla in my opinion!

Mercedes Benz Club Black Eau de Parfum. 2025. Smells similar to the EDT but darker and has a slightly oudh-y though not a dirty oudh vibe. Dark chocolate note too. If you want an alternative to discontinued Cologne of the Missions Le Couvent Maison de Parfum then this is REALLY close... about 90% there. I have this and MLC on either wrist and only the slight chocolate of CB and less florals are the differences. Smells way more expensive than it costs. If you have the EDT this could be redundant as this is like the late night version of the OG. Unisex leaning ‘male’. Cool weather scent. Age 18+. Great performance, one spray has lasted 7 hours on my wrist. If you like vanilla, amber and dark chocolate with a hint of a floral note you should enjoy this one. Date night to Clubbing style scent. Classy. 8.5/10.

Completely agree with Olere Novum. I was so disappointed at first cuz they literally nerfed the best notes (vanilla and incense) that gave me that smoky chocolately vibe. This one is much less complex, I'd say is more spicy and kinda fruity compared to the edt. The drydown is better than the opening imo and I smell some kind of wood and weird sharpened pencils smell after a bit. It reminds me of armani code profumo but less mature. I was almost blind buying it but fortunately I smelled it in poland and I changed immediately my mind. If u search something like edt or u thought this would be even better and more rich you'll be really disappointed. It's just ok imo

This was one of my first blind buys and I love it. It is such a smooth vanilla scent. I thought liquid brun was going to be redundant buy after having this but honestly this is so much more of a smooth smell in my opinion and I actually preferthis over it. Call me crazy. Doesn't project super crazy but it lasts throughout the workday on me just enough that I can smell it and maybe the person right next to me. It is pretty linear and nothing super crazy but its a safe blind buy if you're looking for a cheap wintertime scent

I adore how this fragrance smells, I think it smells very unique and delicious. The projection and longevity are just fine, nothing crazy. The only thing that is negative about this fragrance is the awful bottle that it comes in. It feels plasticky, cheap, falls over very easily and attracts a ton of fingerprints. It also has a wide yet narrow spray for some reason.

This is a more masculine version of the OG. It has a touch more powder and dials down the sweetness a bit to make it more of a buttoned down version of the OG. I picked it up at a discounter after it dropped below $50. Great blind buy if you like vanilla foward scents.

The fragrance smells so good but after 2 hours is completely disappeared and nobody can smell me unless they put their noses on me. Edt is even stronger than this, I don't understand what's the reason to make an edp version that's less stronger than the edt...

Thank you, MountainDewd for the tip about Fragrance Outlet. There are multiple Fragrance Outlet locations near me, and I have never been there. After calling ahead and verifying that they had the new EDP, my wife volunteered to go for me and she picked up a total of 4 bottles for me, our son and my wife’s incredibly well groomed and lavishly scented father. They only carry the 100 ml. It was $129.99 .... and they had a 2 for 1 special 😳 so I got 2 bottles for $65 a piece. And my son and father-in-law each got one. Nice. I pretty much agree with everything Fragh12321 said. This is a linear oriental vanilla dominant fragrance. It is unisex. The deep, rich incense and smoke accord in the EDT that makes the EDT so special is turned way down in the EDP. But it is not completely removed. The EDP is a more simple, straight forward vanilla fragrance. I don’t like it as much as the more nuanced, complex and mature EDT. Ironically, the new EDP smells more like an EDT, and the EDT smells more like an EDP. In my opinion, the new EDP is better for younger people, and the EDT is more mature. The EDP reminds me of a Tom Ford vanilla. It is somewhat synthetic and plasticky, especially during the first few hours. After a couple hours, the vanilla smells more natural and quite pleasant. Overall, the EDP is OK, but that is overshadowed by the fact that the EDT has always been better than just OK. If you are a fan of the EDT and you assume (like I did) that the EDP will be richer, thicker and more luxurious than the EDT, you would be incorrect. It is simply not. It is lighter, thinner and a bit boring compared to the unique and interesting EDT. Don’t blind buy the EDP, it may really disappoint you. But don’t get me wrong, the EDP is good, it’s just not great. What I think Mercedes should have done in making the EDP is bulk up the EDT rather than strip it down ... rum 🍹, brown sugar, molasses, ambrette, carrot 🥕 seed, tiare flower, tonka, coumarin, whip cream accord, coffee, coconut milk 🥛, cocoa, benzoin (which is in the EDT), sandalwood, patchouli, more resins and balsams than what it has ... it could have used any and all of these. But ... in its favor, it does not smell particularly cheap or cloying. It smells at least as expensive as it is. And I think people new to the fragrance world will like the EDP quite a bit. Its projection and sillage seem similar to the EDT. Its longevity is excellent ... as I write this I am at 7 hours and it is not nearly a skin scent yet. I sprayed the EDT on my other arm at the same time 7 hours ago, and it is currently a skin scent. So the EDP’s longevity is definitely better than the EDT. In summary, the new EDP is pleasant enough, but in the end it is basically a simple, linear, boring and straight forward vanilla. It is like Kayali Vanilla 28’s less flirty and fun to be around sister. 7/10 and a Fragrantica score of 4.1 from me.

I tried this out in a frag shop today after seeing some news about it when it came out recently. It costs twice as much as the EDT does from discounters and second hand sellers and It smells and like a somewhat stripped down version of the Club Black EDT. They are extremely similar and I believe it is completely redundant if you already own the EDT. The scent profiles are nearly identical, with the EDP being a little more citric in the opening and slightly less incense and white florals in the dry down. Speaking of florals... To my nose, both MB CB frags are unisex, however I believe they both lean FEMININE! As many will point out the similarities of theses frags (but, especially the EDT) to Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille, Cologne of the Missions, and Kayali Vanilla 28, which most people will agree are all much more feminine fragrances. My wife actually wears the Club Black EDT more than I do! On to performance: it doesn't seem as good as the EDT, although I haven't tested it extensively (I doubt I ever will as I have a nearly full vintage tester of the EDT that I very rarely reach for). It probably will last you a good 6 hours on skin. It's almost like the EDT behaves more like how an EDP should and the EDP is more like an EDT. When should you wear it? Exactly the same situations as the EDT, cold nights, date nights, formal settings with air conditioning. All in all, it's nice, but I honestly would recommend skipping this one and getting the better performing EDT for much cheaper unless you are a MB frag collector. 78/100

Club black edp is a fairly okay fragrance overall. It doesn't particularly wow me in any specific way though it also is not a disappointing fragrance in any way either. I personally have it in my collection though I would never wear it on it's own. The place it has in my collection is frankly the same role I would advise anyone else to use it as in their own collection, it is a good fragrance for layering. Specifically I layer it with very spice low sweetness fragrances. The fragrance I typically layer it with is not on fragrantica but it is called Elementi Graphite by an arabic fragrance company, Luka Milano. Layered together they are very pleasant and a massive compliment getter with huge sillage. Personally I think when worn on its own it leans slightly feminine though as a layering fragrance it is masculine leaning or just unisex. Overall I'd say it is okay value if you're using it for layering though if you want a fragrance it wear by itself it is a little lacking.

I bought it yesterday it wasn't cheap... It does smell like the edt version,the incense is definitely less but its not gone I can still smell it in the edp just not as strong like edt which for gave the edt a unique smell, it's also more smooth and creamy ,for me it it has the same sillage as the edt if not less. It smells alright for now I have to let it sit until Winter to give a full try ,but for now the edt is my favorite

I'm sorry to say I'm very disappointed with this fragrance. It last about a fourth as long as the EDT version. The atomizer is complete trash. If shoots out the juice like a water gun. It's actually the worst atomizer I've ever experienced. The fragrance is very very light. I really do regret buying it .The OG is way better.

does not last for shit!!! even after 30-40 sprays 3 hours and its gone, EDT version is way better lasts and smells better. i fell for the hype unfortunately

I get the feeling that this is a "Europe Only" release. By the time it comes to America, no one will care...or remember. Dropping this from my wanted list...don't have time for these stupid corporate games.

Let me start off by saying I was not a fan of the EDT at all. The cloying vanilla draped over an excessive bed of ambroxan was not appealing to me in the slightest. Imagine how skeptical I was to see that the EDP had both amberwood and ambrox SUPER! I immediately assumed it would be overly sweet and obnoxiously loud. I was so wrong. The EDP opens with almost a lightly fruity tobacco smell. The sweetness is there, but it’s subdued. I’m shocked at how light and fluffy the scent is. As I smelled it throughout the day I drew comparisons to Guerlain Cuir Beluga, but the dry down was like a lightly spiced amber reminiscent of Prada Luna Rossa Black. The presence of amberwood and ambrox super are barely felt, making Club Black EDP surprisingly refined and classy.

So this should be a mix judging from the parfumers of : 1. Original Mercedes club black (Olivier Cresp) 2. Althair (Hamid Merati-Khashani) 3. Scandal (Fabrice Pelegrin) Vanilla Fragrance with : +Citrus & White Floral Nuances - Incence and balsamic This is a total different parfume, a bit of similarities in the open but then is all gone, a fresh floral womanly version of old club. What a shame! When 3 ego's try to mix what they know into a winter/night/date parfume is hard to get a good result. Or if they nail it they price will be astronomical since each 3 of then need to be paid plus mecedes brand. 4/5 guys buy only if is affordable 40-50$

I don't understand how you could release a new fragrance, advertise it like crazy on your website, and then not have it available anywhere. Or not have any way to buy it on your own website. In fact, I can't add any fragrance of any size on the mercedez benz fragrance website to my cart. You can see available sizes, but it says their web store has closed. Just seems.really weird to close your store as you are releasing a new product. Something about this one tells me we might be waiting for a long time before anyone can actually buy it (even at retail). Really hope that's not thr case

Because... unsurprisingly, it wasn't, it isn't available anywhere, no one has reviewed it, because no one (outside of some MB Parfumes insiders) had a chance to smell it. I have no idea what is happening, but this situation is quite ridiculous. Mid-April - we have late May and still no release date in sight and no new info.

Looking forward to this one. The addition of myrrh to give it that balsamic edge is very appealing. I'm sure it will be in the rotation this upcoming fall/winter. I hope it's not a spin on Althair, and doubt it will be. They already had a winner with the EDT, so why reinvent something that is widely praised?

Ok, I would like to inform you it actually exists and is available in Poland, though ONLY at MB authorised dealer. It's only 25% more expensive than EDT, EDT is like 94 Euro there, though :D It is NOT available anywhere else at the moment, but it finally made an appearance so maybe it's all a matter of time.

so disgustingly generic and cheap smelling. do yourself a favor and just get the regular club black which is a nice tender layerable unisex benzoin. i didn’t keep that one either because i realized i rarely tolerate warm/sweet/benzoin frags but 1000000% get that instead of this generic garbage.

This just launched in the states, you can now get them at the Fragrance Outlet. I smelt it today and WOW. I like this a lot more than the original EDT. It's a lot more deep and spiced. It's definitely a vanilla bomb. I tried it on to test longevity, crossing my fingers for a nice performance 🤞😊

Excellent Mercedes-Benz! Waiting for this one to become available. The original is a 9/10 simple yet sophisticated fragrance, for the price. I will purchase this one, 3 great parfumeurs, it's either conflict or perfect synergy. But still interesting and worth trying.

Some people are making it seem like it’s more of a herod or spicebomb type of smell, I have used like 60ml of the og and now I have a bottle of this and it definitely isn’t that spicy or dark. It’s the same as the edt just a little darker and a little more spicy.

Honestly not a bad cologne at all. Wish I could say more about it... Spices and vanilla, smells like fall in a bottle to me. PRO TIP - you can literally get this exact smell for $25 bucks at your local Walmart or something. Cremo Spices and Black Vanilla :))

To say that this fragrance is cloning Althair makes no sense given the similarities of the original Club Black to Althair. Club Black had been around for years prior to Althair. This is just an EDP version of the original which was never a clone of anything.

Are all the people commenting on this in North America? has been reviewed since mid 2025, but the EdP, a fragrance from a european brand, has STILL yet to appear anywhere in europe! I really dont get it at all.

Just looked at the notes and the perfumer right now and thought wait is this just another Althair clone? Others have already beat me to it but damn this is most likely just an Althair clone.

Myrrh in the base sounds great for sure. The original is one of my all-time favorites but it's definitely a very linear fragrance.
