Mercedes Benz Man Grey

Love this and my wife loves it too! My first buy was Voyage Nautica. My goal was to have a “daily driver”. This kicks it to the curb and dare I say it leaves it in the dust. This does open and keeps a freshness about it without relying on aquatic, water, ocean and ozone notes which is exactly why I hated Voyage. Voyage feels cheap and linear and this doesn’t. This Grey is elegant, sophisticated and very “I’m a boss” feeling. First wear, two full spritz, one in right elbow and one to the Chest. 13 hours later and I can still smell it close to the skin on my elbow but the chest is non detectible. The dry down is aromatic with a woody base, lavender or iris mids and powdery highs. I think I found my signature smell and daily driver, will update in a few weeks.

A very clean Amber Musk fragrance that is very smooth from opening to dry down. The pink pepper in this makes it smell crisp, fresh, I would compare it to the pepper note in Mont Blanc explorer. Some comments mentioned it's pretty basic but to be honest, it's not. Its just inoffensive and nothing over the top. Its versatile and clean. I haven't smelt another fragrance like it so I don't feel like it's one to pass on, especially for the price. Projection and longevity are average.

I love this fragrance! I bought it at a Burlington/ ross a few years ago, gave it away, and thought about this fragrance and its' smell for years! I bought it again this year and it is exactly as good as I remember. ^ Not trying to overhype it, but personally I have not smelled something with this kind of amber and musky profile, and I love that about this fragrance.

Spicy, woody, musky amber. Although performance is a bit lacking, the scent is really good, and I'm glad to have it. I spray a bit extra with this one. Really pleasant in cooler weather. I'll likely rebuy this if it's available when I'm done with this bottle.

This is really quite beautiful, an extremely smooth resinous musky citrus combo with the slightest touch of a herbal undertone. One of those rare frags that could be pulled off year round.

When most people think "Grey Man" they surely think of dull, mundane, and frankly, boring. However, "Grey Man" appeals to mean in the sense that low key is often a great tactic for gaining surprise. This is indeed Mercedes Benz Man Grey. While I am reluctant to use the word subtle, this is not an overwhelming scent but subtle connotes something this fragrance is not. It does contain some soft qualities (Ambroxan, Sage, Amberwood) while also presenting both bright and fresh aspects (Citrus, Balsam, Pink Pepper, Olibanum) and finishing with a lightly floral (particularly in the opening) musk. This definitely reminds me of a classic styled fragrance but is not dated (though not entirely modern either). I'm hesitant to agree with the "reminds me section", but certainly fits in line with the "people also like" section so if you're a fan of those scents or the style in general this is a solid budget fragrance (though over $35 other options begin to open up but at 25 or less its rotation worthy or even a daily driver.

Man Grey opens with a burst of zest, shortly joined by the fruity spice of Schinus. The scent becomes more woody and resinous after the opening, the spices being sweetened and warmed. The musk here is not very clean, and instead joins ambroxan, woods and resins to produce a more sensual dry down. Performance is above average. Overall, a great smelling scent, and fairly good value considering the pricing. Man Grey demonstrates a masculine and grounded combination of Schinus and restrained resins in its heart which is very appealing. Recommended.

One of the better Mercedes fragrances I've smelled. Unknown and underrated. I agree that it has a Prada L'Homme vibe (without the iris). A mix of ambroxan, citruses, amber and musk is exactly what it is and how it projects. I just got a full 50ml bottle today for $14, second hand. This was a great buy, and I'm still testing its longevity and looking for the "twist" mentioned below. Bottle looks nice but the cap is bulky and awkward to use. I can see this being used any time of year and for any occasion. Well done, Mr. Cresp.

This is a tough one it doesn't smell bad, rather just a bit boring. I can't really think of anything this actually reminds me of, but at the same time it smells a bit forgettable. I think Mercedes-Benz has very good quality for their discount prices, not sure I could recommend, mainly due to just being unremarkable.

Conrad from Game Over, Man! wears this.

This one is all about the base notes. It's a light musky fragrance with a significant ambroxan/amberwood/whatever note that dominates for most its lifespan on my skin. If you are into complex fragrances, this will not be your thing. I could see it being good for layering if you're into that sort of thing, but otherwise I'd pass - nothing too interesting here.

Smells like patchouli, geranium, lavender and a touch of coumarin to make a straight up fougere with a minty camphorous snarl. The note pyramid is a list of notes you will get hints of, it is kind of an accurate description of the entree and dessert but misses the main meal.

It’s scents like this that make it hard to downsize my collection. I’ll go a couple years without wearing it and then all of a sudden remember it. A quick search showed me it’s hard to find now and probably going to be expensive unless online retailers get restocked It’s a fresh, somewhat warm spicy and lightly sweet masculine scent. I can’t think of anything that it directly reminds me of, but I can say it smells good. It has a generic (kind of barbershop/shaving cream) feel so don’t expect to be blown away by its uniqueness, but the amber and light sweetness make it softer and warmer and adds a little depth. It’s also very safe, so almost any cooler weather occasion this would work. I reached for it today to revisit and decided to go with the regular Mercedes Benz since it’s summer and Grey would be a little heavy If you see it at Burlington/ross/TJ Maxx and it’s around $20, get it. Scent wise it’s worth it and lack of availability makes it even more interesting. Good juice

The opening has a nice amount of citrus, pepper, ambroxan, and white musk. It almost gives a slight Dylan blue vibe but cleaner and not as complex. The mid says- hey, it’s 1997 and I just got out of the shower. Literally smells like soap I used in the 90’s with heavy ambroxan behind it. The dry down gets a little darker and becomes pretty ambery and resinous. Finally the deep dry down goes back to a light clean white musk and stays here until the scent is gone. Overall it’s a decent scent has a 90’s vibe with a modern take with the usage of heavy ambroxan. Very inoffensive, very wearable just about anywhere. Probably more suited for the 25+ crowd. Projection and sillage: pretty good because of the ambroxan Longevity: average 6.5/10 overall.

The incense and amber-woody facets are very well done, reminds of Prada Black or Thomas Kosmala No11 Super Amber the way the fragrance develops and I find it incredibly pleasant! This is a gem for sure and while nothing sticks out and makes you go “wow,” it’s an undeniably good smelling scent that works for quite literally any occasion. Almost a lighter less vanillic Mercedes Benz Club Black which I’m also a big fan of, making this overall more versatile. Great low-key fragrance that doesn’t ever get mentioned.

This is probably the best fragrance I have pulled off the shelf from a discounter. Super underrated. It smells mature and classy without any "old man" vibes. Not a projection beast by any means, but does well where appropriate (office setting, etc.). If you see it at a local discounter, give it a shot, you won't be disappointed. Pleasant and subtle scent. Won't change the world, but is a great scent on the cheap.

Thankfully got this at a Ross so thankfully didn't pay much for it, but regardless, in my opinion, this is a pretty forgettable. It was a blind buy, but there are way better Mercedes fragrances out there........its just meh........i'll have to try it again another day and see if it does anything fo me.

I was prepared to be disappointed at the opening, which was a generic, forgettable citrusy burst of "whatever". However, given a few minutes, it dries down into a very pleasant musk backed by sweet ambroxan. Smells mature without smelling old fashioned. It's a good one!

Very nice fragrance. Smells very much of Ambroxan to me, but overall it has quite an unusual and nice effect. It is also very clean vanilla sweet, but not too much. It is not linear either, it has a twist. Very good fragrance.

Notes are completely different, however, I get a Prada L’Homme vibe from this. More citrus in the beginning and slightly different due to the resins. Smelled too generic, so I have not worn it on skin.

Smells nice. Mercedes is getting good with the Ambroxan Code. I just have a splash sample kit, so i haven't fully applied to test projection and sillage. Seems to be a nice closed environment scent.
