I first smelled this on a friend who got it for a gift, and he said it's Michael Jordan (not knowing there were three) so I bought the 1st MJ in a 1/2 oz spray. Good but not this one... When I first smelled this in the clearance section I thought AdG clone and quickly moved on, my mistake. Now I take paper strips and spray testers on them, put then in my shirt pocket and look around and shop letting the frags develop. If you do this don't let them rub together it will contaminate the juices and make a foolish mistake. Experience is the best teacher... Once I ordered this on-line after numerous reviews and note lists, I decided this must be the one my friend had on. (He moved away and we no longer are in touch.)It truly comes on very aquatic with the melon-citrus-currant accord but it is when you let it mature you get the symphony of florals and light green fig leaf dominated by a soapy dry geranium note. The drydown is slow and light and the sweet honey herbal kiss in the base mellows the sandal-musk finish used in SO MANY scents. Sillage: moderate Longevity: good Overall: 3.75/5 Although at first it comes on like AdG it is nowhere near as sharp and in your face and it does not last as long or remain aquatic. This is a sweet dry manly floral woody semi-acquatic; great for dates and fun times.

It was a very-very pleasant surprise for me!:) MJ 23 is a nice, smooth floral-fruity fragrance ,especially for the summer days but wearable in any season. I think this is the BEST masculine scent with magnolia-geranium combo and the next best floral for men ( the 1st was Givenchy Insense in my opinion and MJ 23 really remembers me Insense because of the dominant flower notes). Very comfortable to wear, I absolutely love it! It's EDC but longevity and sillage is better than an EDT. Great fragrance , try it despite the ugly bottle!:)

If you're looking for a men's fragrance with a good Watermelon note then this is it! 23 also has the best projection out of all the other Jordan fragrances. To me this is the best fragrance from the house. This is the best Watermelon fragrance I've smelled that doesn't smell weak, sour or too feminine. It also has a musky dry down that makes this masculine and balanced. 23 is a fantastic fragrance! This is very nice!

This is a great fresh cologne in the vein of Aqua Di Gio for $10 and the best part is it doesn't smell synthetic. It is a great value and good for any age under 50. Go get it.

I have gone back on this and deleted my old review, now that I have enjoyed Acqua di Gio itself. I got Michael Jordan 23 early in my fragrance journey. I want to say it was about my 5th fragrance. I didn't know then what I know now about fragrances. At the time I thought it was a cheapie gem and now I say it is just a cheapie. Michael Jordan does put out a number of good to great fragrances. This just isn't one. It does bear similarities to Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio. That said, MJ23 is mostly the same just simplified with watermelon, a note Acqua di Gio does not have and a very alcoholic open. Michael Jordan 23 is very rubbing alcoholic upon first spray. It does smell clean and aquatic, don't get me wrong. But there are other Acqua di Gio similar fragrances that aren't like this. Belcam's Geau (which is an on the nose clone) is one and Perry Ellis 360 Red is another. As I've smelt more from this scent profile, I realize that this isn't that good. Even for a fragrance that easily costs less than $20USD. That said, to go against what I said four years ago, I can complain about the alcohol when other Acqua di Gio fragrances don't have it and are about the same price. Performance isn't great. As the alcohol burns off, the scent starts to become less noticeable. I think I get 3/4 hours on this tops. I mean this is fine for kick it and the gym, but I will not get this again. I rather stick with Acqua di Gio or Geau and 360 Red to be honest. I rated this an 8 when I was a younger but now I rate this a 6.8 out of 10

I literally can not tell the difference between this and Bvlgari Aqva. I can't even call it a clone because clones are always different in some way, but this is literally Bvlgari Aqva in a different bottle. Scent is exactly the same, longevity the same, sillage and projection the same. I like it. Just like my Bvlgari Aqva it doesn't last, it's very light and takes a lot of sprays, and it's more a personal scent that doesn't really project far. But it's a good scent and it's worth the money.

This was one of my early additions when I started collecting; and will have to say I keep trying to make myself believe I have no need for this frag. But every time I am ready to part with it I can't. I give the last smell and it always make the cut. I have given my nephew's several of my other frags to include the name sake Michael Jordan sent I thought I was more a fan oof or thought was more interesting. This is some how still a good scent that is nice to smell and easy to like.

Is to regulate its fragrance but the perfume is strong, it is like for the summer or exactly to use it while practicing sports. It reminds me of the perfume of Addidas deep energy. Rate 8 of 10 es regular su fragancia pero es fuerte el perfume, es como para el verano o exactamente para usarlo mientras practicas deportes. Me recuerda al perfume de Addidas deep energy. Do not waste your money on this one; it does not last more than 30 minutes and it is all about a synthetic mess of alcohol with little scent to it. 3/10 I can not rate it with zero because it does not smell bad at all; it is fresh but there are other few options for this price-range though.

This fragrance is a great cheapie but goodie. It has a nice melon scent from start to finish. It doesn't change that much throughout its life cycle. Very mellow and smooth. It performs really really well and if you see it in an outlet. Buy it. The second best MJ fragrance!

unnecessary copy of the original IMO its too floral and almost femnine and a bit sweet i expect a 6'5 hard core athlete to know a guy scent with some kick and masculinity and not a unisex scent that will attract dust that u will find ur gf wearin

I must have got a good batch because mine is lasting and smells fantastic, exactly like japanese honeysuckle flowers and as another reviewer said, bvlgari aqua. Edit: it's actually gotten worse as it has macerated.

Bought this at the nearest Ross for 12 bucks. I dont really get the watermelon from this scent. it is a good fragrance just to lounge around in. My chick digs it.

Wow these notes look so feminine but it smells so masculine! I dont love this like the original though

First Review on Fragrantica. I am new to fragrances and I decided to blind buy a lot of different bottles from various designers. I am an American male in my 20s. Michael Jordan's 23 is a recent purchase and after numerous tests, it grew on me. It smells like Soap (the Geranium note), a soft, sweet Flower (the Magnolia note combined with the Fig Leaf note), and fresh Fruit (the Watermelon note). I disliked it at first. But after re-applying it throughout my day I found myself taking a liking to it. If you have a nose like mine, the Black Currant and Musk notes may be a reason why you will be hesitant if you enjoy what you're smelling, as they give it a bit of a sourness, for lack of better words. The tangy citrus smell of the grapefruit may also be enhancing that effect. The sillage is moderate, the longevity is good(a bit past moderate). And it's a different kind of men's fragrance, that I've grown to enjoy. If anyone is reading this and thinking of blind buying it, I would take the time to read the descriptions online, and on this site as well, of what Grapefruit, Musk, Black Currant, etc, all smell like. The scent itself is a 7/10 for me. Fresh Spicy, Floral, Fruity, and Ozonic are the accords I got the most of, and I didn't find the notes evolving that much over the course of wearing it. I would say Calvin Klein's One (from smelling it numerous times in a store) is the closest fragrance you could compare this to. I managed to purchase this off Pharmapacks' website for a total of $5.40 for a size of 1.7 ounces, after applying a coupon. Hopefully this helps someone.

Michael Jordan 23 is a 2005 release, one of the many follow-ups to the original, more famous Michael Jordan cologne from 1996, and, as with most of the follow-ups, it’s not quite as agreeable as the original. I gave the original modest marks, its sport-musky mostly-fresh vibe being middle-of-the-road but very affordable. 23 has a bit of a funkier vibe, pairing the citrus/musk in the original with purported notes of fig and geranium, so it’s less, fresh and less bright than the original while still having a reasonably similar character of the 90ish sporty cologne, a less sophisticated offering along the axis to the Polo Sport. And its performance leaves a lot to be desired, but since the scent itself is only so agreeable, it’s probably best that projects and lasts modestly. 5 out of 10

A fragrance I've frequented before, not sure why the top voted note is watermelon, as that note is nowhere near present in the fragrance, it's a citrusy, musky fragrance similar to Polo Sport. The longevity isn't great even with 5 sprays. I don't hate it like a lot of other people seem to, it's just not great. I feel like this fragrance would be best suited for a spring afternoon going out to hoop with your friends or just to go to the store. Overall I'd give it a 6/10, not amazing and you aren't missing out on anything.

Opens heavy on the grapefruit, but with other fruits trying to soften it. In the end, the plum and cypress have this scent smelling alot like John Varvatos. Only thing between the two that has me dislike this one and like JV is that the grapefruit is so strong, I hate grapefruit.

think lemon pledge and rose water with some ozonic note smell burns off within like 20 min not worth the money, unfortunately, got as a clone of aqua di Gio but think will just spend the money to get the real thing
