Michael Kors for Men

For Men by Michael Kors after a rocky start has been re-released. The wait was worth it. It is a melancholy sophisticated love song singed around the edges with a bit of a broken heart. It is smoky and moody, lush a mix of cocktails and regret and in the end filled with a longing for something lost and just beyond ever finding again. It is beautiful. This masculine fragrance is perfect for fall and winter. It is magnificent on a man but boy could a woman wear it well and smell great. It would be the olfactory equivalent to a woman wearing her boyfriend’s crisp white dress shirt with jeans. Or nothing but the shirt. Effortless and elegant on both sexes in ether a formal night out for theater and a late cold supper or on a sunny fall picnic in Central Park. It works so well for any setting. That’s what I love about Michael Kors clothes and his two fragrances in his men’s lineup. The nose is Harry Freemont who also created among many fragrances CK One for Calvin Klein, Modern Muse for Estee Lauder and Grey Vetiver Eau de Toilette for Tom Ford, and of course the fist men’s fragrance for Michael Kors, Michael. It opens with a dominant and beautiful star anise, which shines in a dark kind of glamour as the coriander, thyme and pepper buzz just below this star giving it that signature you will recognize from the opening of Michael from 2001. There bergamot that is there is very light and almost imperceptible to my nose but what is wonderful is the addition of the elemi that adds a smoky sweet melancholy to the opening and sets everything up for what is to come. The fragrance moves into its mid notes with the most wonderful twisting tendrils of incense that rise up like a cobra from a snake charmers basket. But there is also something wonderful in that basket, a wreath of sage and the smoothest richest suede note I have smelled in a long time. It is simply entrancing and here is where the beauty of the fragrance departs from the generic designer signature and enters into the realm of fine perfume in a classic style. The dry down comes on with the masculine lines of fine polished wood, a nearly caramelized sandalwood, lush rich layers of patchouli and musk add just the right light to the fade out and final curtain of this fragrance. Now for some the bad news comes here. The longevity on my skin is not great, around four to six hours. The sillage is moderate which depending on your taste and personal style can be a good or bad thing. But for me this is not a make or break issue since I am a proponent of the liberal and lively art of the re-apply. Being a designer scent the cost is very reasonable for what you get. I was at Macy's sniffing around when I came across this fragrance, and I was not expecting to like it at all.. But when I sprayed it first thing I though was "not bad".. I kept sniffing the card and decided I had to spray it on my wrist.. I sprayed three squirts on my wrist and enjoyed this fresh spicy scent all day long.. After a few days I went back to Macy's again and gave the fragrance a full wearing.. I really do like it and if I had the money I would have bought it right than and there.. Michael Kors opens up fresh and spicy, with notes of bergamot, coriander, star anise, pepper, thyme, and elemi.. The opening is very spicy and different but has a very nice fresh vibe going on.. I attribute some of this to the elemi which is a resin which can have a citrusy vibe.. As the fragrance progresses it warms up a bit and the suede comes into the picture with a touch of incense and some sage.. The base is very simple with patchouli, sandalwood, musk and other woody notes to ground the scent.. All of these notes are a bit hard to differentiate because they all come together really well and just create the scent that is Michael Kors for men.. I also smelled some type of sweetness in there that smells like a dried fruits note to me but it is not listed in this Michael Kors, but it is listed in the original.. This fragrance is very different from everything else on the market, and that may be why it is getting horrible reviews.. People are saying it smells like cat piss and I see where they are getting that from.. It is the combo of fresh bergamot, elemi opening and spices like pepper and star anise.. That so called "cat piss" vibe is actually a big reason why I love the scent.. People complain when a scent is to generic but than when there is something a bit to different they complain about that to.. I think this is one of the better modern releases along with Fan di Fendi Pour Homme, and they are both receiving tons of unwarranted hate.. This scent can be worn year round but I would choose the warmer weather to sport this scent, because it is fresh enough but still remains interesting.. The price is also not that bad, so please give the scent a try before you knock it.. The longevity was amazing on my wrist but when I gave it a full wearing the projection died down fast.. Only if performance were better Michael Kors would be a real stunner! I have not smelled the original but I hope to try that one out to before I make the decision to add this to my collection..

Michael Kors for Men is a spicy, aromatic and woody fragrance. It has a citric-fruity and spicy opening, where an aniseed, incense and elemi chord is distinguished that make it very aromatic. As the minutes pass, the citrus leaves, but the aroma of a woody base increases, which is complemented by a soft suede accord and some aromatic spices such as thyme and sage, making this fragrance a very masculine and attractive. This aromatic set gives me the illusion of smelling a tobacco accord too. Michael Kors for Men is a fragrance that could be worn almost all year round, maybe except in summer, because although it is spicy, it is not heavy. Perfect for office work, outings with friends, and is probably more appreciated by older men. Speaking of its performance, the batch that I have is regular, it lasts a maximum of 8 hours. with regular to low sillage, I remember having tried it recently launched in 2014 and its performance was greater than 10 hours. I suppose it was either reformulated or it aged poorly. Compared to the 2001 version, there are not many differences, maybe less intensity of the fruity and tobacco notes, but the smell is very close in both versions. It seems to be discontinued now, but I'll enjoy it while I have it.

A magnificent fragrance !! This is unlike anything I've smelt before !! I absolutely love this fragrance.. Immediately after spraying, I get a boozy, "honey-like" sweet-resinous (absolutely heavenly !!), woody smell.. After about 25 minutes, the boozy note fades away, the incense smell starts appearing and the woody note starts to dominate.. The sweet-resinous note doesn't change much and stays in the background.. The woody note smells a lot like the shavings from a freshly sharpened pencil.. The combination of the incense and the sweet-resinous-woody smell just blows me away.. Projects very heavily for the first 30 minutes.. Projection reduces to about an arm's length after that and stays like that for 5 or 6 hours.. Lasts for more than 6 hours.. Beyond the 6 hour mark, the perfume lasts mainly as a skin-scent.. But, if sprayed on clothes, the smell lasts for more than 12 hours.. One last thing.. This perfume is very strong !! Therefore, I would advise against using this on those very hot (more than 35 degrees Celsius) and humid tropical summer days.. The smell might cloy you out.. On all other days it should be fine.. In my opinion, this perfume smells the best during the late fall/early winter period...

What in the world just happened? I have been desiring to make this fragrance a part of my collection ever since I smelled it the first time.. Well I went to the closest Macys to test it again and possibly purchase it, but it was GONE! They told me that they had to pull it off the shelves and did not know why.. I was so disappointed and shocked due to the fact that this fragrance was just released no more than two weeks ago.. I called other Macys and found one about 40 minutes away that said they had a bunch of bottles.. I drove there all the way in the rain and when I got there no Michael Kors in sight, and the SA's could not find it.. One of the ladies looked in the back and after 20 minutes of disappointment she found me a bottle and let me have it! I have no reason why this fragrance has been pulled of the shelves not even two weeks after its release, one women told me on the phone that something was wrong with the juice? I hardly believe that.. This stuff smells awesome to me and I will update with a review later.. Good luck ever finding this one again, I think I am the last person on the planet to find this scent..

I first smelled this fragrance in 2014. I remember it being pushed heavy at Macy's. I was traversing the streets of NYC and stopped at Macy's to use the restroom. However, I cannot simply pass a fragrance counter. A sale attendant was spraying MK for Men and she sprayed it on my arm. I was not impressed. I thought it was very close to Axe's Anarchy for men. However, that was not my first impression of the scent. My friend had worn samples of it and I was always impressed how it smelt on him. So I was perplexed. Fast forward to 2018, and I find this at Marschall's for a decent price. I put it on and I was in love! This is such an intoxicating scent. It is perfect for the fall. The suede is prominent and the patchouli flirts with the resins. It's a wonderful scent that I will never be without. It has entered the upper-echelon in terms of my collection.

"Update". The sample I sprayed on my jacket sleeve yesterday was still strong the following day. With that, I bought a bottle today. This is a strong masculine scent. It lasted on me all day. It even lasted through a workout and then a shower. This is definitely not for everyone. I love scents that you can smell on your jacket days from when you sprayed it. This has turned out to be a strong intoxicating masculine scent for me that projects and lasts like you want it to. Great find!! My favourite frags are Michael Kors For Men 2014 Tom Ford Extreme The One D&G Calvin Klein Encounter Tom Ford Grey Vetiver I seem to be drawn to a spicey scent rather than a citrus or aquatic. Good news everbody! The new reformulated Michael Kors from November 2014 is great! It takes the same scent of the first formula release and smoothes it out.. The first formula was receiving a bunch of mixed reviews.. Some could not handle the sour tangy tart note mixed with the spices.. No need to worry about that anymore.. The scent has been smoothed out, and tamed all while still keeping the same overall scent.. The good thing is that it actually smells much better! I will update with a official review for this formula which Micheal Kors is sticking with.. Please try the new formula you might like it.. I am in love!

It is an Excellent Fragrance, Masculine, Modern, Unique and Airy. The combination of the spices : Coriander, Star Anise and Black Pepper with Elemi , Thyme and Bergamot in the opening then Incense , Sage and Patchouli in the background , with woody notes in the dry down. This smells so good and very pleasant, perfect for the fall and winter. I really enjoy it and I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Longevity is very good , This perfume has high quality composition similar to Niche Quality. Highly Recommended. Bravo Monsieur Harry Fremont ! Two Thumbs Up. Rating : 9 / 10

Love it!! Tried it for the first time today. I got the "wow" factor that "The One" by D&G and Tom Ford Extreme gave me. This scent is not all that far off from"The One". It definitely lasts longer. Projects great for about 6 hours and then it calms down to a closer projection. Even then you'll still be smelling it when your moving around. I will be buying a bottle for sure. I have to say that this is right in the middle of "The One" and TF Extreme. If you like those frags, then Michael Kors For Men is a great frag that will last longer then "the one" and cheaper then TF Extreme.

I am a big fan of the old Michael For Men, and I must say that the new one doesn't disappoint. It takes the old Michael, and smoothens it out, removing the rough edges and adding a freshness to it. Where as the old one was a full one fall/winter fragrance for me, this one is much more suitable for year round use. The tobacco accord is pulled back, though still present, whilst the fresh top notes are amplified. Overall I am very happy with this one. A solid everyday scent that is different from most of the popular stuff out there. Rating: 8.5/10

Smells expensive, sophisticated and with great character. 100% worth the price, it even out performs a lot of the big name brand fragrances. This fragrance quickly rose to my top 10 favorite list and that's for a reason. If interested, just take a walk into a sephora and ask for a vial sample. note this is the 2014 edition, Michael kors for men, not Michael for men. Longevity: 8++ hours Sillage: a very noticeable arms length.

Wow, just wow. I was so surprised at just how lovely this fragrance is, had to buy a back up bottle straight way. I have never done that before as I have so many bottles in my collection and I rotate quite often. I get pretty decent performance, put on before bed and could still smell when I woke up, albeit a skin scent. If you like The One D&G, give this a try, I actually prefer this.

Best blind buy for me this year. Snatched it for $20cand I am loving it. It is not a scent for clubbing, but perfect for office or formal gatherings in the the colder times of the year. Maybe for a more mature crowd rather than teenagers. It last more than 6 to 7 hours on my skin and over 12 hours on clothes and projects way above average. Such a pleasant scent.

Michael Kors did right by this one. This is a perfect designer suit and tie fragrance. Just the right amount of spice, just the right amount of sweetness, with enough personality to be completely unique without screaming "HERE I AM!". Don't let the reviews fool you, this IS after all, carrying the name Michael Kors, and I believe it's doing its name justice.

I Love this 2014 release so much more than the first. I did Receive two batches. One was Amazing, and the other one was not horrible...there was obviously something wrong with it.I have a 100ml bottle that is perfect and 10ml that smells spoiled at the top with the same perfect dry down. I Love this juice and will definitely be making it last.

Michael Kors for Men is a really good fragrance. You definitely get the star anise, patchouli, some leather, and what smells like a light tobacco to me. It is really strong and performs very well, as I get 10+ hours and major projection to start. People will think it smells nice. Solid release from Michael Kors. 9 of 10.

Great smelling fragrance. smells great for 30's plus, without the extreme patchouli smell, gives the wearer a great sense of character. This is the type of fragrance to wear to a job interview, or an important event, where you want to stand out and be noticed. Great job Michael Kors. This is one of my top ten favs.

I got Michael Kors for men as a Christmas gift. At first spray it reminded me of the original Michael Kors only a bit lighter. I love the anise and incense combination. This fragrance soothes me for some reason. Perfect for Fall/Winter. I love it!

This one took me by surprise. It smells way higher quality than the price may suggest. Aromatic, spicy, musky scent. Definitely on the "darker" side. Not a woman puller, more of a dominant boss-like scent. I respect the hell out of this scent.
