Sexy Rio de Janeiro

I blind-bought this perfume at Ross and really love it! I was honestly expecting that I wouldn't like it, but at that price I thought it was worth a try. I will definitely be wearing this pretty often this summer, I feel like it would go really well with a coconut scent such as KKW Fragrance Body II. Rio doesn't project her scent very far, and only lasts about 4-6 hours. Perfect for a summer day at the office, and re-applying with something darker when you hit the town after work. I wish the scent was a little more complex and long-lasting, but I'm overall pleased with it.

One of the strongest and most pure honeysuckle scents. Ever. I get white floral dream. Obsessed with how the jasmine and honeysuckle mix. The dry down is a bit spicy and tropical due to the mango. This is an attention getter and a compliment galore scent. Absolutely delicious.

I just bought this today! I LOVE this scent! I actually exchanged it for another perfume that didn't agree with my chemistry. It is such a beautiful fruity-floral: the way a really well done fruity-floral should be! I definitely pick up on the mango note- it's gorgeous!

I bought this as a blind buy at tjmaxx. I’m not gonna lie at first it smells sort of grandma like, but the dry down is amazing. Definitely smell the vanilla and mango. I fell in love with this scent! I get so many compliments.

Love it! Smells like Paris Hilton Tease in the opening notes.Juicy fruity floral lushness! Then it turns into a soft vanilla with no juicy notes left.

I had the chance to buy Rio a couple of weeks a go at the mexico airport duty free and i didn't take it. Now i regret it since it is discontinued and extremely hard to find. It was a great fruity tropical sweet but classy summer fragrance. Rio was so different then the others. I don't like the original since it is too similar to Kim Kardashian...way too much tuberose and woodsy notes for my nose.. Edit: Spoke to a Micheal Kors representative yesterday and she told me that they will launch a new coral edition that is going to be similar to Rio in late november or early december. Can't wait to smell it :). Edit: I bought it online since it is discontinued and i can not find it anywhere else, i really hope the smell will be the same has a remember...to be continued..

This is a BEAUTIFUL honeysuckle and jasmine scent. I was unsure upon first spraying it, but as it dried on my skin and warmed up I cannot stop smelling my arm. Unfortunately I don’t get any mango at all but that’s okay because it is pure honeysuckle and jasmine with a hint of sweet vanilla. When I smell this I envision myself lounging at a luxury beach house with a golden tan dressed in all white surrounded by white flowers. This fragrance is effortless and sexy.

Very nice floral fruity fragrance. If you look for a summery tropical vibe, here it is. I can't understand why it is launched in autumn because it is perfect spring & summer scent.

I agree with Babygia & Nil3. The notes listed are incomplete. As much as I do learn quite a lot about perfumery in general on this site, when it comes to listing the notes of perfumes in the Fragrantica database the notes are poorly researched and release dates of fragrances are also often wrong. Step it up Fragrantica team! (Methinks you need more native English speakers editing your posts! I've seen numerous ridiculous spelling and typing mistakes)! Now to the scent. I recieved a free sample of this yesterday and have worn it all today. I get NO mango, only Linden Blossom and honeysuckle top notes. This is followed by lily of the valley, a strong gardenia note, and a HEAVY dose of tuberose and jasmine. It dries down to a slightly powdery, SLIGHTLY sweeter floral. As Nil3 suggested: "It's as if Elizabeth Taylor's granddaughter smelled Gardenia (the perfume) and was inspired to create a (new) perfume." Indeed! It is fresh and green smelling if one is into that type of scent. Though I'd hardly call it "Sexy" (and it definately doesn't remind me of tropical Rio), it's not unpleasant in general. It does in fact smell expensive, however, it's just NOT for me. I'll probably pass the sample on to my mom who happens to love "green" or "clean" florals.

Update: I can infact smell mangoes and tropical fruit notes only when directly sniffing the bottle. However, the tropical feel is VERY short lived. Any and all tropical scent vanishes completely upon being sprayed onto skin. Mom noticed this as well, but loved the scent despite the fact. It's a creamy gardenia-tuberose scent on her (which she loves). I still do not care for it, but it smells nice on her so I was glad to have it taken off my hands. Its definately a perfume for the older crowd.

It reminds me of a floral fruity body spray that ended up in the clearance section. Animalic jasmine and honeysuckle with a hint of fruit. My daughter said yuck, barnyard. It did calm down after a couple hrs and become more fruity.

God damn, that's sharp. Green, jasmine-y cigarette smoke (not tobacco, actual smoke). Strange. I don't like it.

Another confirmation that blind buying according to your olfactory sixth sense isn't always a success. Honey suckle , vanilla , mango and jasmine in a bottle of Escada would've been a safe blind buy. Guaranteed. THIS one on the other hand is a Jasmine Bomb! It's as if Elizabeth Taylor's granddaughter smelled Gardenia and was inspired to create a perfume. This one is a heavy heavy heavy jasmine scent. Elderly people who are fans of jasmine, gardenia or tuberose would adore this scent. Now THATS when we are talking about a guaranteed safe blind buy. :) expensive smelling.

Tried this today. This is a very light,not offensive chemical-smelling slightly tropical very weak floral with a light vanilla drydown. I bought it for only $35 and don't think it's worth that. I don't recommend buying it. While it's not unpleasant, it really doesn't smell like it's well-made. It almost smells like they started creating this perfume and couldn't finish the process so just bottled what they had - a watery very light floral with no lasting power and a light vanilla drydown. It's sad, because it could have been a nice scent.

At first I thought ok, nice!! Then upon trying my sample again, I felt it was sharp, and almost synthetic to my nose...the mango note isn't very fresh . The overall tone of the scent just isn't so nice to my nose..screechy might describe it.. I think Kors is throwing a new scent after another, and Sexy Rio just suffers from poor quality... I shall pass..especially at that price.

when i put this on i feel like i'm in a garden full of flowers on a warm spring day, eating a créme brulée, and there are some ripe mangos laying around. i've been wearing it daily for about a year and a half and i still can't get over how much i love it. sadly, it's impossible to find now, since it's been discontinued and i can't find anything remotely similar

I'm sorry, but this MK fragrance is a hot mess. I get the Mango for about 3 seconds, and then it turns into a synthetic hodgepodge of unidentifiable sharp synthetic nothing. I smell no jasmine or honeysuckle at all. It lacks any of the characteristic Michael Kors sweet floral dreaminess. What a migraine inducer.

Real notes are: Mandarin and mango Linden Blossom and honeysucle Violet,lily of the valley, rose Gardenia , tuberose and jasmine Ambroxan, sandalwood , tahitian vanilla and musc. Dear Fragrantica team, this is again a very distinctive example for the very poor researching.

If you're reading this in 2019- it's too late. You missed the boat. I picked up a sealed bottle at TJ Maxx and it was a corpse. Stank.Positively a scrubber. If there's any notes besides expired jasmine, I couldn't detect them. Skip it.

Way more floral than fruity. I smell mostly wisteria and violet. Neither is listed. Update: I now find this to be an old-fashioned warm floral very similar to vintage Oscar by Oscar de la Renta. Lovely and lush, but nothing new.
