140 Blue

Love this scent for the summer/spring. It’s not doing too much. Just smells like a splash of the clearest ocean water crashing against rocks and you catch the mist of the water. Really nice frag.

So when I smelled this at the gray market dealer that I've been buying from at the flea market near my house for over 20 years, I was instantly intoxicated. I fell in love with it right away and when he told me he was selling them for 85$ I kinda turned away. I generally don't pay that much for a frag unless I know exactly what I'm going to get from it. I know that isn't a ton of money, but at the time I was in the middle of getting everything ready for my move to Australia, so spending the extra cash wasn't really in the cards. I went home and looked up the fragrance (this was before I had a Fragrantica account, so I didn't look here) on Amazon and saw that it retails for $110 there, so I decided that I loved the scent so much that I had to get it for that price. Now to me, this is such a light, fresh, and beautiful fragrance, that brings me to the coast. Images of the waves rolling into the sandy beach, with the breeze blowing my non-existent hair back, and sweat dripping down my forehead. And no I didn't read this on the box, I swear it made me think of this LOL. I have always said, that I'm not good at picking up notes, but this without a doubt smells to me of orange, melon, and apple on the opening, and I am a sucker for apple notes. I can smell the plum now that I know it's there, but I couldn't pinpoint it at first. The lavender and neroli, combined with the woody notes roll in and I love it even more at that point where the patchouli sits for the dry down. I understand that it's not anything special, but everybody's nose takes in things differently. It is just an amazing scent for my nose. All that being said, it is so not worth even the discounted $85 I spent on it. I've worn it about 8 or 9 times now and all I can say is that the performance is severely lacking, and mind you I don't care if a perfume only lasts 4-5 hours. That is plenty IMHO as long as I love the scent and I can still smell it on myself if I want to breathe it in. With 10 sprays, on lotioned skin, it projects about 2 feet off of me for about 30 minutes. Then it sits about 6 inches away from the skin for another hour and a half. It is a nice skin scent for about 1 more hour giving me a total of 3 hours. After that, I need to really dig my nose into my arm to get the faintest whiff. I asked my wife to gauge it so I wasn't just missing it, and she confirmed that it was incredibly weak at the 4-hour mark. this is all being done in Australian heat too LOL It's such a shame because I would wear this every day with the 10 sprays or more if I had to, but not at that price point. I'm guessing the bottle wouldn't last more than 4 months. If it was around 40$ US I would consider it, but I get better better performance from 15$ frags than this. I envy the people who say they get 6 to 7 hours from it. I may buy it again down the road if it ever gets heavily discounted, but I do still think it has a very lovely smell that would be Unisex all the way IMO. Easily can be a date night scent, out to dinner, or something since it doesn't last longer than the dinner would anyway, for me at least.

This is my number one compliment getter so far. I'm at work and I got 3 compliments walking in the door. This is a great daily driver, great for office/school, especially in the spring and summer months during the day. My only complaint is the longevity is crap (4 hours and it's completely gone, not even skin scent), thus making the price of this unjustifiable. I sprayed it on at 7am and by now (9am) I can already tell it's fading fast. Will probably never buy this again, which is unfortunate because it's smells so fresh and good. Will be on the search for a similar frag with better longevity and will update when I do.

I'll be honest. I'm unable to differentiate a lot of the different notes in this. I get a melange of fruit, maybe some lavender and neroli, and the amber, musk, and sandalwood base notes. Overall its a soft, sweet aromatic perfume with decent performance. Definitely leans masculine. I'd say its perfectly acceptable as a daytime scent, but is probably best for evenings. I can happily wear this, but it doesn't really speak to me.

fresh, sweet, fruity, all balanced and delicious. Not bad.
