Citizen Jack Alpine

I was expecting more of the lavender and sage. Maybe some woody pine as well. But the melon seems to be front and center for the entire wearing. Among the melon is a creamy, ambery sandalwood. While not what I expected, it smells good to me regardless.

A bright pine cologne that's versatile enough to reasonably be worn in the warm AND cold months. I love the top note being melon, but I'm also happy that it doesn't fight the pine in order to be detected. This is my second Michael Malul fragrance and man is this brand high quality. Longevity it great, hits 8 hours no problem. Projection is very nice, especially on opening. Usually this scent lingers in the room after I spray it. The Atomizer is great, I believe it is weighted. You will not need anymore than 4 sprays to last for daily needs. Longevity: 8/10 - Projection: 8/10 - Overall: 8/10

A very safe out the shower kind of scent. Simple but it does what it's supposed to. I think Roger Howell nails these kind of freshies. This and Ocean Noir are my most complemented freshies I have, and even my wife who never (and I mean NEVER) compliments my fragrances walked up to me buried her nose in my neck and told me how good it smelled! So if you just want to smell fresh and clean you can't go wrong with this one. Enjoy

The most dominant notes is a creamy lavender combined with an animalic patchouli (that's a little musky) and a dash of sage. There are hints of bergamot, but it's buried underneath this very dominant aura of earthiness and lavender. It feels as though there are aquatic facets to this even though there are no aquatic or marine notes to it. Overall, it does have a fresh feel, however, this feels a bit heavy and thick because the patchouli note is a bit overpowering.

To me, this does not feel like the name given to it. When I think of the word “Alpine”, I think of winter in the woods. I think of a ski lodge at peak season. I think of a deeper woody note wafting through the crisp air. Where you breathe in and tuck your hands within the folds of your jacket. I think of flannel shirts and lodge fires being stoked as the aroma fills the lobby. This fragrance has none of those feelings within the notes. It’s to bright of a scent to be called “Alpine”. The melon is too forward and I cannot detect the faintest hint of a wood note anywhere. Smells like all of the other Citizen Jack fragrances in the lineup.
