West Loop. A fragrance dedicated to Chicago. This is a YouTuber fragrance from Mr. Ash Kirkland aka GENTSCENTS who gave his creative direction. Great fragrance! There are a few other fragrances similar to this for a similar price. There are cheaper and more expensive options. It really just depends on what your financial situation is. I think this is affordable. There are other fragrances that smell but are not the same as West Loop. It's in the same category (doesn't mean smells just like because I know all the haters don't read all the comment) as Layton, Armani Code, Le Male Le Parfum, Jet Black Enigma, 😉Galleria Shades of Seduction😉, or maybe even Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Signature and F Black. It's very warm, sweet, and powdery. Definitely a darker cool weather and night out fragrance.This has some great performance! I am on hour 9 and it's still wafting around my office. I did have 5 of my lady staff members say this was a very nice smell. I used 6 sprays and it's really projecting. I am an over sprayer I typically use 16 to 20 don't judge. 🤪Only the strong survive in my world. This stuff is good at 4-6 sprays for you weaker people. If you can get this for around $100-$125 I'd say it's worth the buy. This fragrance and Jet Black Enigma are my favorites from the Michael Malul GENTSCENTS line. They are excellent picks especially if you can get them cheap. Totally recommend. I don't give numerical ratings. I think it's great. I already know because I'm giving a positive review the trolls are going to come out saying I got paid or I got it free. Whatever... Yes, I bought them! Yes, I'm a real collector and lover of the hobby! Do all of us in the fragrance community a favor. Get over the negativity.

Got lucky and picked this up today at TJ Maxx. This is one you need to spend some time with, as it reveals complexity over time. Shout out to Ash at Gent Scents, as this fragrance shows his familiarity with, and respect for, some classic men’s scents. As one no longer young, I appreciate the modernization of older scent profiles. Over the course of the past few hours, I’ve been reminded in some way of Naxos, Ideal, Spice Bomb and even the original Polo edt. The almond blossom, tobacco and cinnamon stand out immediately, but the sweetness is balanced by the resinous myrrh and clean lavender which keeps it from ever becoming cloying. The bed of patchouli and amber really harkens back to the classic colognes of my youth. Think: well groomed, well dressed fella outside on a rooftop patio, enjoying a bourbon and cigar.

**UPDATE**: For those in the back: I LOVE when my husband wears this. I bought him a back up bottle! He doesn't always grab for it, but when he asks what he should wear, I do! Men: wear this and have women ask what you're wearing. It's effortless, put together, and all around amazing. ______________________________________________________ I do not wear this as a woman, but I am here for perspective. I LOVE when my man wears this. Being from Chicago it truly gives off this lunch at Au Cheval-meetings at 3pm-I'm on my grind vibe. The Froot Loops scent is real!--but it's done in this super sexy, office friendly, and that tobacco scent is sweet and comforting as the leader of this to my nose. It's rich without being too heavy. Great for year round.

One of my favorite of all time. Fruit Loops in a bottle. I love this stuff, ever since I smelled it in Perfumania I knew I needed a bottle on my shelf. To me it really does smell of Fruit Loops. Bright, vibrant, and sweet. It leaves the smallest hint of cream/cinnamon, and the lingering scent this stuff leaves is absolutely ridiculous. One of the best scents I've tried so far. Heavy cap with a night tight *snap*, very satisfying. Amazing packaging as well, velvet liner inside of a horizontal sliding box. Thick print on the cardboard, professional as hell. Shoutout to Ashton from Gents Scents, we share a name so it makes sense we both love great smelling fragrances.

Fantastic scent from Michael Malul. It's a warm and inviting scent, lasts 8-10 hours and has a moderate projection for a few hours. I get a prominent cinnamon note off the top, which is not normally one of my favorites, but this is blended well with tobacco,almond and tonka. I have pulled some compliments already after wearing this only a couple days. This is something you can wear day or night and in the fall, winter or spring, but this will really work best during the fall and Christmas season. I love it, top tier all the way around.

Picked up from Marshall's for $29.99 and well worth it. Cherry is not in the listed notes but I get a cherry pipe tobacco that is filling me with great joy!! Like if you've been to a proper tobacco shop and they have massive jars of dark, sweet and damp tobacco for pipe smokers. I do get a slight bit of myrrh and patchouli in the background. A dark scent for summer ( typically 90°+ where I live ), so this will be a constant go-to in autumn and winter for me.

Very nice fragrance for the cooler weather. Very comforting. Definitely unisex in my opinion, but an easy wear for the fellas. Beautiful combination of florals balanced by tobacco, cinnamon, and light sweetness. Looks like this one may be getting discontinued? This has a “last chance” label on the MM website, so you might want to act now if you want to try it. I just pulled the trigger on a 100 mL after using most of my 10 mL.

Once in a while, you get to walk into a Marshalls, and you find one of those rare finds for $30. This opens up with a blast of Cinnamon and quickly turns into a mix of Guerlain L'Ideal EDP and YSL La Nuit Homme. The almond note is fantastic and elegant. It sits closer to the skin after the first 30 minutes. It is a very beautiful fragrance and a steal if you can find it at your local store.

This is a great fragrance for under $100 CAD. Smells very classy and masculine. Has a touch of tobacco but you get a slightly sweet, floral and ambery scent than lingers nicely on skin and clothes with a nice scent trail. Well blended, moderate projection for 4 hours and last 6-8 hours overall. Perfect for dinners and more intimate occasions as it is not a loud performer.

Very delicious and unique fragrance, there's is bias for me because my favorite fragrance creator is Gentscents, even without that bias this scent is beautiful, I get some nice baked sweetness but then some aromatics and maybe spices too. I do smell a bit of similarities with Prada lhomme intense just if lhomme had a gourmand note in it, I would recommend this fragrance!

Terra Nova may be Ash's best fragrance, but this is the best one of this second round he's done. It's sweet from vanilla and tonka, but not too sweet. It's projects decent, and I get over 12 hrs longevity! You get a pressurized atomizer on the 15 ml samples so it's well worth it. Give this stuff a try.

I am in shock because I loved this one. I was expecting nothing... Just saying... if you find this one at Marshalls or TJ Maxx, grab it! It's smooth and nothing super winter-forward. It is easier to wear than Spicebomb, for example. More classy, more well-made (and I love the Spicebomb OG).

West Loop at first wear is a little sweet on my skin. But when it dries down and went out on a cold, crisp NY weather..... it pushes out. It is not as sweet as the opening, I love it. It is well blended. I need more wearing time on this fragrance. But as of now I am really enjoying it.

This is amazing. It did suprise me more than I expected. I will be getting a full bottle soon. Sweet spicy balsamic almond that cativate you since the oppening.This is great as a daily scent. But at night is where it shines. Fall nights, to be more specific. Try it on a 2ml sample

I blind bought it in the store and its a work of art. It feels sweet, in the same realm as something like Side Effects, but more wearable, and perhaps... sophisticated. Its quite masculine, but not overly. Lovely blended, decently performing, and for older cats.

Way better than I expected. Great cool weather scent. Opens floral and creamy - need a couple extra sprays since it doesn’t project great off me but really enjoying it so far. Love catching random whiffs of this throughout the evening.

A softer, not as thick, any occasion version of Grand Soir. Very bright tobacco opening. Dry down is magic. The tobacco and tonka been are balanced perfectly by the florals. Other than crazy hot days, easily a good any occasion scent.

Picked this up from WhatNot for under 60$. Super versatile scent that is unique without being challenging. I get the Fruit Loop thing but if Red Man came out with a Fruit Loop inspired chewing tabacco.

#1682 in my “Tour de Fragrance” I’ll keep this short. This is a very nice scent of good quality. French Avenue’s “Aromatix Royal Taboo” is similar but better and goes for $48. Get that.

This stuff is gorgeous. Smells like cereal, Froot Loops or Cinnamon Toast Crunch, with a base of warm tobacco. You literally can’t miss with this stuff, good/okay performance.

So.... I’m digging this one a lot. It’s different to my nose. Honestly has a different accord that reminds me of something Quentin Bisch would use. Good job with this release.

Xerjoff Naxos! Not 100% the same but very similar, if you dig Naxos you will dig this! So very similar!

West Loop... Hitch a Ride... Let It Take You Places This is my 1st Michael Malul purchase and I like. It has a very sweet (almost cherry like) opening and you can just hear the tonka whispering to you "don't forget about me". Once it settled down... it reminded me of a fine smelling expensive body lotion scent. Instead of spraying it 3-5 times to get stronger projection, try spraying West Loop into your hands with unscented baby oil and then apply to your body. That will make it much stronger while moisturizing your skin and you can save on cologne. Then sit back and wait for the inquiries (hey what do you have on?) and the compliments (hey you smell goooood).

REALLY good fragrance. The opening is quite floral then it calms down into a nice clean warm comforting smell. the cinnamon is really carrying its own weight and helps enhance the tobacco making it rich and smooth.the lavender is what helps make it smell fresh and clean without any citrus. I blind bought this based off Fragrantica notes alone, then i found out it was a YT scent....i got worried. All worried are now thoroughly dashed. it is a great winter/fall fragrance. Honestly it smells more expensive than it is. Worth the price tag for sure.

Just purchased this at my TJ Maxx for $30 ish and it doesn’t disappoint me. I enjoy the rich middle notes after the nice soft top notes consisting of floral / vanilla-ish scents. Lasted me about 6-7 hours before it started to fade. I’d recommend this for those who want to wear this around warmer outdoor nights, going to a bar, or even camping.

First 3 wears of this I got compliments (2 easter brunch, 1 family gathering) and asked what i was wearing. It’s fairly hard to wear due to the almond orchid and tobacco note. It’s very thin, no sweetness to it. Smoky and rosy, a bit of spice as well. I’m not a big fan anymore. My bottle is about 95-90% full. I wore it yesterday to church, first time since march/april.

This was a bit weird to me in how it develops and how you are smelling it. The comments about how this smells on skin and in the air is a bullseye . At first it has this strong resin like smell . Not sure if it's the myrrh with like a super strong almond blossom . But it's pungent and overwhelms everything . Everything I smell aside from that isn't bad . It's sweet , tobacco, slight aromatic and light floral . I could smell why some people say it has touches of Naxos. Because of that in my head I'm like "ok ,crazy top notes but I can tell it's going to improve as it sits" . In the air that opening does calm down and you get a Naxos like smell. Maybe 50% Naxos. This goes more towards a light floral , tobacco, light almond vanilla flower. It does have that sharp myrrh but more toned down. On skin though that sharpness from the opening is still there. As I kept letting it sit I kept hoping it would fade and eventually meet with the smell you get in the air but it doesn't happen. I like a fragrance where someone can smell it on my skin and like it but this isn't it. Performance is ok. 4 to 5 hours . Good projection for a good 3 hours. In the air this does shine , I'd give it a solid 6.5. on skin maybe a 3.5 because of the background . This just isn't for me 4.5/10 catch and release fragrance.

The vanilla notes managed to combine to form the start of a musky cumin note, right before the full jolt of spice follows in the full experience of cumin. I associate cumin with strongly flavored foods and not fragrance, so this is a pass for me. It's just a semblance or nuance, but it is enough to bother me. Twist's dupe of Boss Bottled EDT also has this issue. The accords also come together to form a vague sweet blend, tettering on something almost gourmand, like toffee. Try first.

I am a 33 year old female and LOVE this fragrance for myself! Yes, it’s marketed as a men’s cologne but I came across a viral video on TikTok of a female saying she bought a 15ml travel for $20 on their website and fell in love! I decided to try it and it’s intoxicating! 🙌🏻 I ended up grabbing another travel within a month! I also love Amber Smoke from Michael Malul for myself (another men’s one). I layer West Loop with PDM Valaya which sounds strange but I’m telling you - it’s breathtaking! West Loop lasts around 8 hours on my skin and 2 days on clothing. It’s such a nice fall & winter fragrance but can be worn all year as well. Don’t let the fact it doesn’t say unisex fool you - this is 100% a unisex fragrance!

DO NOT discount this on first wear. It's got a floral twist at the top, which I like, but might not be for everyone. That said, once you push past that into the dry-down, it's a total killer. Sweet, spicy, a scent that I'd even call "clever." It's got compliment factor with a niche twist. The other thing to note: In the air is WAY different from what it smells like up close. I was really impressed with the dimension of this scent. I got both of the new releases, and it feels like they said "Ok, we're gonna do one that's got its own vibe unlike anything else and one that's a little more common but super appealing." This is the one with its own vibe.

West Loop is gorgeous!! That toasted cinnamon and almond is a heck of a combo with the vanilla right off the top, with light warmth and spice from the myrrh and tobacco, and a designer-esque base rounding out the composition giving mass appeal but still successfully accomplishing being unique yet versatile. To my nose it truly possesses a unisex composition, just an awesome and surprising release from Michael Malul.

maybe 40 percent naxos, but the difference is that the really heavy aromatic lavender and intense honey vibe is toned way way down, which is a good thing. more smooth and wearable, and i would dare to say that the quality is up there with the xerjoff too. for around $60 this is a great buy! (but i wouldnt pay retail)... also slightly more unisex imo, a confident woman could pull this off easily.

This is very nice! Stays w/ you a long time. I can see West Loop being more of a night out scent! My bottle seemed like it was rushed put together the sticker wasn’t even put on correctly and honestly it was missing juice so very disappointed after spending my hard earned $$$!

This is a safe sweet spicy scent its like a mix of insurrection 2 and dior tobacular its in the pure havanne/ naxos tobacco family its not super harsh its great for cold weather when it dries down you get more of a slight spicy rubbery dry down its pretty good

Oh man, West Loop, what can I say other than greatness in a bottle, very unique scent profile, a very refined and sophisticated fruit loops smell and as crazy as that sounds its just so good top 5 in my collection for sure, 10/10

This reminds me a lot of something I have in my collection but I can’t put my finger on it. I know it’s in the realm of Middle Eastern Clone Brand, maybe a less spicy Amber Oud Tobacco?? will update when I find the culprit...
