Safran Noir

I blind bought this on a whim from TK Maxx yesterday, for £9. It's a linear fragrance, so don't expect any gear changes or dry-down transmutations, but my god...this is a well balanced pyramid. The sharp metallics from the Saffron with the jammy raspberry and suede work some holy trinity. I was wearing a heavy oud fragrance, and sprayed this on my inside wrists and it was cutting through my Blu Oud all night and I could still smell it when I woke this morning. Final verdict: £9 for this feels like I've robbed someone

Raspberry, leather and saffron stand out the most to my nose, while the Juniper berries add an airiness. This is slightly sweet, fruity, earthy, a little airy, and has a generally clean vibe. I've never smelled the Byredo this is obviously duping (Black Saffron) and cannot compare the two. The Raspberry here can come across as rose. either way it smells very good and lasts longer than I thought it would. Projection is arms length for several hours before shrinking to maybe half for a few more.

This one is just beautiful , delicate and romantic. I've always been looking for a perfume like this.

Disclaimer: I have never smelled Black Saffron. This is an interesting scent. It's a soft and hazy, somewhat sweet, somewhat sour, saffron. I get some bright citrussy notes, a hint of smooth vanilla, and a touch of cigarette smoke. It's surprisingly well balanced and hard to place. Development is very linear and lasts longer than the price tag would suggest. My favorite application for it is a fall day

To me, very reminiscent of TF Tuscan Leather, which i do love, but Safran Noir is softer, less of a kick in the face, more wearable on a day-to-day basis. Just sprayed it on to go for a meal with family on a cloudy but warm Cornish day. Like Krabbers below, a blind buy for £9 in TKMaxx. A quick sniff in-store & knew i had to have it); it's an absolute bargain!
