Citron Citron

Herbal, green, citrusy, minty scent with some depth and nuances. Citron Citron resembles to my nose to Aqua Allegoria’s Herba Fresca: a fresh, crisp, light, bright, uplifting scent. Perfectly designed to be worn in high humidity and heat conditions. From my knowledge, I would consider this the British version of Herba Fresca, but with a twist. It’s a more aromatic and less floral version of Guerlain’s. It's not terribly unique or memorable, to be honest. Bottled mojito is another thing that comes to my mind when spraying this. Citron Citron is a luminous, sunny blend of bright citruses contrasted with fresh herbs, spices and woods. The feeling this scent gives me is one of walking into a lush garden filled with greenery and aromatic herbs on a spring morning after it rained. You have in here exactly like in your garden lemons, oranges, lime, thyme, mint, basil and marjoram. All of the most refreshing herbs and fruits! Clean, elegant and unisex. Ultimate summer fragrance for both genders. Longevity is nearly decent, about 3-4 hours, sillage is intimate, best skin scent in the genre of freshies.

This traditional English Hesperidic fragrance is absolutely stunning. The naturalness of the scent and its longevity are very pleasing. An etude in ochre tones. A juicy orange that, in the base, transforms into an elegant chypre citrus, somewhat reminiscent of Iskander and Azemour les Orangers by Parfum d’Empire. More masculine in character. All the notes are carefully composed to create a juicy, mouthwatering, invigoratingly cool sensation. A flawlessly constructed, full-fledged perfume in a classic style, not just another fresh cologne-ish musk that everyone and their dog is releasing these days. Such perfumes from the British Isles are incomparable and distinctive. Some real stuff from Lyn Harris. And yes, this is one of the most natural, long-lasting, and truly refreshing-in-the-heat fragrances I’ve come across. Just like a glass of orange juice. Simply excellent! It’s a real shame that all these magnificent scents like Citron Citron and many others have been ruthlessly discontinued by the new owners of the brand. What a loss!

Normally I won't put much attention on the fragrance features citron notes, because I got almost the same "uplifting" or "fresh" vibe among those citron notes. But certainly not Miller Harris. I got a sample of this and decided to give it a try, and it turns out really distinctive and intriguing. Citron citron starts with good quality of citron vibe. Unlike most of the other citron notes showing up giving you "fresh" and gone, Citron citron actually "invites" you to stay and calm down to enjoy the evolution of notes. The transition isn't dramatic but it keeps you wonder how it will evolve. The oak moss, mint and cardamon are being good at supporting the citron and wood. And when it finally settle on my skin, it gives me really soothing, relaxing and chilling mood. It is calming but not dull at all. Definitely would do better at warm summer days. I think you need the heat to bring out the evolution of the citron notes.

This is a safe, clean pick-me-up of a perfume that I enjoy wearing to work. I find it clean and energizing and love the natural citrus grounded in a bit of cedar and oakmoss. I find that for a natural citrus, this lasts quite well, though I have to reapply mid-day. It is a bit gentler and "friendlier" than "Miller Harris Tangerine Vert" which I also love but which is a bit harsher (perhaps more masculine, which does not usually stop me). When I feel adventurous, I layer it with another Miller Harris, like Pamplemousse, La Fumee, or Jasmin Vert for a more mysterious overall effect.

Perfect warm weather fragrance. I have the body oil, which smells wonderfully citrusy. The citron note is still detectable as a skin scent after a dip in the pool. After I spray it on, it fills the room and lingers in the air, lending a nice citron zest freshness to the whole room.

Speaking of Miller Harris, Citron Citron is a perfect example of what I was talking about. This fragrance is essentially a big citrus cologne--my version is the eau parfumée and comes in an appropriately large size: 200ml, which is how all colognes should be sold, it seems to me. The whole idea of a cologne, at least my concept of it, is to offer a light layer of scent to be applied liberally and best suited for warm weather wear. The very idea of a 1 ounce bottle of cologne seems to me like a contradiction in terms. Or is it just a sample? Anyway, Citron Citron is all about citrus in the opening: a bright, uplifting, and refreshing mostly lemon but with tiny wafts of lime and orange. As it dries down, the natural wood base emerges and is just perfect to my nose. My main issue with the aromachemical substitutes for woods in most fragrances today is that they create an unbalanced effect because they are always so much more tenacious and usually more salient than any of the natural notes with which they are combined. This makes the natural notes seem like small olfactory hors-d'oeuvres to the main aromachemical course, which is fine if that's what you're looking for (I am aware that lots of people enjoy wearing Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 and Molecule 02, and Juliette Has A Gun Not a Perfume, and Le Labo Another 13, and the many other fragrances of this type), but for those of us who dislike that "stuff", it ends up being very annoying and often even ruins what would otherwise have been good compositions. No such problem here. Citron Citron smells natural from start to finish, and offers a well-balanced blend of citrus, greens, and woods, with an emphasis on the first term of the trio, although the woods are most dominant in the drydown. A great hot weather scent--provided that you enjoy bracing, wake-up call citrus!

This is a beautiful, uplifting, citrus and herbal fragrance. The opening absolutely sparkles with fresh citrus making this a wonderful companion for warm weather. It's one of those fragrances that lifts your mood as soon as you spray it. Once that initial citrus waterfall recedes, you get a spicy, slightly bitter, herbal accord following up. If you're the kind of person who buys a fragrance based on its opening notes, you'll buy this just to experience that opening over and over again. However...the longevity is abysmal for an EDP. I've had fleeting thoughts that last longer than this. It's a skin scent within 1 - 2hrs!!! As I bought it at a hefty discount, I can live with the lack of performance and just re-spray when needed. I'd be livid if I bought an EDP fragrance at full price that weakens to a skin scent within 2 hours of generous spraying.

Delicious high-and-dry lemon with startling true-to-life zest ... but collapses in a heartbreakingly short time on my skin. Shimmering beauty during the first half hour - really distinctive and clever kind of citrus, not even a hint of cleaning products or of cheating with more floral notes to make it blossom, just sparkling dry wit. It's a sort of lemony counterpart to the mighty Hermes Concentre d'Orange Vert - so, as good as it gets. Film avatar would be David Niven in a crisp white shirt. True unisex, too. But sadly doesn't even last as long as the average 90-minute 1940s feature film. Just boils away after 45 minutes max to an even briefer encounter with some nice, slightly-spicy, very discreet cedar for maybe another quarter to half hour. Then: Fin. End of story. Aaaaargh! the frustration. An all-too-fleeting whiff of summer.

This is a really well put together scent from Lyn Harris and I was initially fooled that it would be all about citrus with a name like Citron Citron. I was pleasant surprised when after a wonderfully natural refreshing opener of citruses you're treated to a drydown that I didn't expect to be as interesting as it was. The first few minutes you're fooled into thinking this could be a very pleasant but ultimately one dimensional & fleeting citrus. It takes about half an hour but you get a hint that there's more to this when the woods and oakmoss start to make an appearance. It dries down to a gentle spiced wood with a lingering citrus, it's very nice and seems effortless to wear & enjoy. It's my first Miller Harris and off to a good start. Great summer fragrance, Longevity is okay too.

Citron Citron opens with a burst of fresh, invigorating citrus - a mix of lemon, lime and a hint of orange. This quickly mellows into nice a woody cardamom heart, that sustains into the drydown. However, the middle and base are rather weak. The first 30 minutes of this fragrance are as good as it gets. Longevity is disappointing for an EDP, I get around 3 hours and this is a skin scent on me. A pleasant fragrance, but misses the depth that you would expect from Miller Harris.

Just got this for £40 for 100ml in TK Maxx. Initial impression, strong at first citrus herbal of the same ilk (though not an exact smell alike) as Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet classic. Is it as good as BB? Not sure. Perhaps not quite as good. But I'll reserve judgement until I give it a good try out in the summer

Freshly herbal citrus scent - like a breath of fresh air. Citruses are masculine in this one, and I'm not sure, if would wear it, but it's still a nice and interesting scent. I like the minty note very much. Smells like herbal tea with lemon. In my opinion more suitable for men, but great anyway.

Starts with a strong, invigorating citrusy hit that is vivid and natural. This definitely attracts attention, what follows is far more subdued and temporary. Like a clarion call that wakes the dead, but no heavenly choir afterwards.

I tried this recently in store, it's an almost candy-toned citrus that's a little too sweet for me. I didn't try it on my skin, so couldn't discern any of the base notes

Clean and bright smelling, layers well with Le Pamplemousse from the same brand. Which is fortunate as both are absolute steals from TK Maxx

Looks like you can get 100ML for around £40 in the UK almost everywhere This is a very different type of lemon flavour It's a super sweet lemon, very similar to a sugared lemon or a fizzy sherbet flavour when it's first sprayed Then the herbals, mint and light florals kick in, so its not a very linear fragrance like 'under the lemon tree' by maison margiela, it has a lot of depth and everytime I put it on, I can smell something different. I think this leans a little more masculine, the cardamom gives it a musky kick that's almost a light tobacco, that makes this different from all the lemon fragrances out there. Really looking forward to wearing this in the heat, I think it will really kick in and smell quite unique. Is it worth £40......Yes. Is it worth buying......Yes

This comes in with a bubbly citrus grater which then becomes smoother and more pulpy. The heart notes are nice fresh and I feel the mint well balanced without reminding me of toothpaste. It ends early enough, a little sweeter, more loose but still spicy. For its duration this is a good morning break. It is not exclusively masculine as it does not necessarily resemble beards or razors. Although rather "simple" and already heard. Not bad, not offensive. Pleasant.

Aromatic, oakmossy (a tad too oakmossy to my liking) citrus with marjoram/thyme herbal notes going through. Poor longevity which can be expected on top note heavy fragrances. It leans a little too masculine end of the unisex spectrum to become a personal favourite - I like a bit more sweetness to my citrus. This would be something I would layer with something a little sweeter and perhaps more floral. Still, a quality fragrance with proper blending.

It starts beautifully and dies quickly after that.

The opening is a promising, fresh citrus, but it dries down to something like licorice. No!

Citron Citron is a new way to approach a classical cologne. I'm not a fan of manly colognes. This fragrance is a mix of Eau d’Adrien and Eau du Sud by Annick Goutal. Citrus and basil. It could be plain or banal but it is really natural and very well composed. On my skin there is not only citrus, it’s green. It’s a garden where plants and grass live free, an aromatic garden in summer. The dry down is woody and spicy but very natural. Good quality about the ingredients. Bright, uplifting, elegant, unisex, modern and classic at the same time, perfect for everybody who loves nature and outdoor life. And perfect if you have been overwhelmed by complex, heavy, dramatic fragrances. It’s a pleasant break. I like it very much.

Been searching for over 5 years to find "my perfume". Finally found it with Citron citron by Miller Harris. It really smells natural from the beginning to the end, which I appreciated VERY MUCH, because 99% of all other perfumes I tried smells very different at the end (base notes) and I really disliked it. In fact, I don't know why, may be it is my skin, but from the beginning to end, it smells almost identical. And this is a PREMIERE for me. It is now my Signature Perfume, day, night, summer and winter :)

I have Citron Citron eau de parfum - absolutely a fantastic perfume I love the way this company renders citruses, they are all perfect for people who love outdoors - Citron Citron, Le Pamplemousse, Le Jasmin. This one specifically gives you all the aromatic herbs, and I've always associated herbs with health :D smells almost like dry tea leaves, especially the thyme. Citron Citron isn't seductive, sexy or inviting or even cosy, it is luminous, natural, earthy, witchy, herbal, aromatherapeutic.

Opens with harsh lemon then quickly mellows revealing a nice, minty heart note with some cardamon. It's okay for the first 20 minutes or so but fades faster than a rain drop on a hot pavement leaving behind something that's perfectly respectable but barely perceptible. It's far too weak and I don't think there has been enough attention paid to the middle and basenotes to sustain interest. Not worth the high price.

The top notes are dominated by a very masculine, dry lemon, and I smell bergamot, although it's not listed it's not sparkling or fresh, unfortunately- but I really love the way it softens into a feminine, soft skin scent during the dry-down phase. Overall, though, I'm pretty disappointed with this one-

This has a nice and refreshing finish to it. At first it does have a candy like (Lemon Drop) scent to it as nemonie mentioned. Once it begins to warm down, the basil and cedar notes develop. Great for the Spring or Summer or just when you need a little citrus, herbal and woodsy pick me up.

Elegant classy cologny-type citrus aromatic, very natural and uplifting. There is nothing ground breaking in it, but it's such a beautiful summer choice. Similar mood to others Lyn Harris creations, like Tangerine vert or Le petite grain, to Guerlain or Acqua Di Parma colognes.

a very bright clean smelling citrus scent, decent longevity for a citrus , reminds me of orange sanguine from atelier. overall a very refreshing fragrance. two thumbs up.

If this said EDC on the box it would get ALOT more love. It’s almost perfect for the time it last and for the price it’s a steal.
