Found at Dusk

Top notes are blackcurrant leaves and syrup, fresh mint, juicy lime. Slowly fir needles, spicy green tomato leaf, vanilla, raspberry, and amber uncurl from the heart to create a very complex mix of notes - fruity, green, and a touch gourmand as the vanilla and amber strengthen. Earthy patchouli and musk are there on the drydown, asserting themselves only lightly. I love this, but it's weird. It's sweet and fruity, with a green and dirty undertone. If think you have to like both gourmands and green scents to like this, because it's both. I love blackcurrant, but this is not the green blackcurrant thicket of L'Ombre Dans L'eau. Nor is it the berry vanilla of Sì Fiori. This sits squarely between the two. A slice of vanilla cake under the leafy green blackcurrant hedgerow. I bought a used bottle on ebay that's half full. I have a feeling I may be buying a new one soon... ps. After writing this, I had my hand pressed to my wrist all evening long and the next day, after a full night's sleep, the basenotes are still there. I may be bumping this to my top list - and I own/have tried over 1000 perfumes! - it's just such a wonderful and comforting mix of green blackcurrant bush and comforting vanilla cookie that it makes all my endorphins go YAY. Betrand Duchafour has done it again. But it's been discontinued. I'm off to a buy some backup bottles off of fleabay.

This is beautiful, I love love love it. The mint and fir are subtle but keep things interesting. Without them, this would be just another fruity perfume. I have a number of fir/pine scents, and most are strong and masculine. Not this. This is sweet mint, sweet fir. However, for a fruity scent, it is not as sugary as I thought it would be. It's a sweet herby-ness. I get the "cocktail like quality" of the reviewer below, although this isn't boozy at all. It's more like a collection of cocktail garnishes. Interesting, but I can't imagine this being offensive to anyone. Nothing here that screams. For that reason, I think it is a fairly safe blind buy. At worst, you will be underwhelmed. Like with many Miller Harris scents, the name is nothing like the scent. I don't think of a dusky/evening perfume at all. This is a spring/summer daytime for me. I wish it lasted longer.

This is simply beautiful. It's unlike anything else in my now huge collection. I got this, a blind buy, 100ml for under £20 in TK Max and my only regret is that I didn't buy a second bottle! This is like sitting in a kitchen garden on a sunny summer evening, surrounded with lush fresh herbs and fruits. The geranium, vanilla and pepper creep in slowly and very softly. Gradually the blackcurrant get stronger and sweeter, tempered by a little musky patchouli and fir. It gradually settles into a glorious sweet, jammy blackcurrant and raspberry syrup, that brings to mind sipping a gin cocktail. Although it's sweet, it never becomes too much, thanks to the herbal and citrus notes that remain detectable throughout. I absolutely adore it. Instant love! ❤️

Very quick comment (other than: *I BLOODY LOVE THIS*): Bought it blind as I loved the notes. Spritzed yesterday morning, had a shower this afternoon, clean clothes, clean skin... and I can still smell it on my arms. It's beautiful. My assessment is that people should recognise that they become "noseblind* (a term I bloody hate) when testing a perfume: I own 1200+ bottles plus at least as many samples, and can't smell them on me after a few hours of wearing, especially if I spritz near my head.

This is one of my favourite blackcurrant predominant fragrances. The blaccurrant here is tart & sweet, supported by citrus notes and juicy raspberry. Mint and tomato leaf add some freshness to the scent. Then after a few hours Found at Dusk dries down into a warm, slightly sweet musky base with the delicious fruity notes in the background. This perfume is simply mouthwatering, uplifting and very natural smelling. It was a blind-buy and love at first 'sniff'!

This quickly turns from a lovely green, complex scent in to a very musk-heavy scent which can be over powering if you spray too much. So nearly perfect - just too musky for me.

This perfume is a window to childhood for me, it makes me think of summer holidays spent playing in the garden. The opening smells like blackcurrant leaves. It's fruity but green. Very quickly there is a fresh garden mint, gentle but refreshing, some mild green citrus and later an earthy green tomato leaf. It feels like late summer just before a storm, hot, lush and humid. The other notes that stand out for me are the basil and the fir balsam. It's really garden like and natural. It also makes me think of virgin mojitos because of the mint. As it dries, the earthy tomato leaf becomes more and more prominent and the tart blackcurrant fruitiness dies down. After a while you are left with tomato leaf and drier mint along with musk. This was a blind buy and I don't regret it, it's lovely. I think it is really different and something I can see myself enjoying in the summer. Longevity is around 4-5 hours.

I tried a sample of Found at Dusk, and I’m on the fence about getting a full bottle. It’s a very bright fragrance, leaning a little feminine - the opening is fresh and tart (a nice combination of the blackcurrant and bergamot) with a background of sweet green tomato leaves. It becomes less intense on dry down, giving way to a creamier base that still smells very natural. However, as much as I really do like this fragrance, the performance is poor for me. Projection was non-existent and within 3 hours I was struggling to detect any scent. My skin is not the best at holding scents but I can usually get at least 5 hours out of a decent fragrance, and being within the same price range as others I have I wish this could’ve offered more.

I find it hard to describe. I just maybe smell tomato leaf which is not nice. Weak projection, thank goodness. Poor buy.

Found at Dusk is, at most, nice. Herbaceous, fruity and transiently invigorating. Its singular distinguishable attribute is the fleeting fresh mint flirting with the opening citruses, granting it a cocktail-like quality. The initial impression is of refreshing gin with sliced oranges and limes floating alongside sweet spearmint; crisp yet without the alcoholic bite, captivating in its green aura. Albeit, it too soon stabilises into a dry aromatic floral. The blackcurrant has been harvested right off the bush. Despite not owning diptyque’s L’Ombre dans l’Eau, I gathered they share a common lineage, namely: black currant, ambergris, bergamot, orange, musk, so perhaps they may share some degree of similarity? Pleasantries aside, I wished for the alleged base to project louder on my skin rather than remain confined to the safety net of a typical musk. I could have overlooked the muddle of the middle had it ultimately anchored into something more.. worthwhile. Without a discernible signature and dampened by undesirable longevity, I'd classify this fragrance as a safe, skin scent EDT. Overall, agreeable, not worth the full retail price IMO. 5/10

I ordered a 100 ml bottle for myself and it arrived today, on my 30th birthday! 3rd gorgeous purchase from Miller Harris. If Cassis en Feuille focuses on the blackcurrant leaf, Found at Dusk focuses on the fruit itself and both feature tomato leaf as well for optimal freshness. The other one I have is Le Pamplemousse. This is basically a purple-coloured fizzy berry cocktail that reminds me of Grenadine cordial or a combination of two other perfumes I have: Thé Basilic by Molinard and Super Moon by Carner. I can pick up all the top notes on the first spray but I have to spray liberally to get heart and base notes. Edit: Both my partner and mother in law asked if this contains grapefruit. The combo of mandarin and pink pepper produces that accord! Longevity is 2-3 hours as is expected for a fruit perfume.

First impressions on paper test strip. First sniff is pure weeds, walking across a field that's been left to overgrow and standing on pungent green weeds. Minty and tomato-y wafts follow, with occasional quiet puffs of something smoother and sweeter. Interesting, looking forward to how this will play out on skin.

Blind buy for me too, as it was a steal. What a nice surprise. Going by the notes it wouldn’t be my thing but its such a pretty scent, fresh and citrusy at first but then the fruits come through and you’re left with a slight minty vanilla/musky/amber. I would describe this scent a bit like a strawberry mohito

This is the most natural smelling perfume in my collection. It is really nice. I wear it as a guy but i do see it smelling more feminine. I find it hard what to wear with this perfume. Maybe something hippie ish but that's not really my style. I now wear it mostly in house for myself.

This smells a lot like a citrus candy I used to like when I was young. It’s quite nice but I just can’t get past the candied citrus note. The bottle I got is defective. It leaked while stored upright on the bookshelf.

Bertrand Duchafour created this gem! This is a aromatic experience, not just another perfume. I like a lot of his work so I'm pleasantly surprised
