La Fumee Arabie

زندگی واقعی وقتی به جریان حرکت رودخانه ی بی سر آغاز و بدون سر انجام زمان توجه میکنم، با خیال راحت به این نتیجه میرسم که در چهارمین دهه از زندگی، هنوز زمان زیادی از روزهایی که همه چیز رو آنچنان که بود، احساس می کردیم و از سالهای تجربه ی احساسات بزرگی که عمیق بودن و واقعی، نمیگذره. زمان زیادی نگذشته، هرچند، با گذشت سالها و قرنها، اون روزای باشکوه و اون خاطرات بزرگ، همچنان زنده خواهند موند و برای ما که راهی برای بازگشت نداریم، چه چیزی بهتر از یک رایحه ی زیبا که باعث تداعی اون خاطرات باشه. رایحه ای که از زمان حرف بزنه، اما نه از دریچه ی نا امیدی و اندوه، بلکه زمان رو در قاب خاطرات و از روزنه ی جاودانگی به تصویر بکشه. این روایح کم نیستن و فقط باید جستجو کرد اونها رو. در مسیر کاوش روایح خاطره انگیز و عمیق، یکی از نامهایی که روی اون حساب باز میکنم، میلر هریس هست، خانه ای معظم که علاقه ی زیادی به آثار اون دارم و کالکشن لا فیومی، با عطرهای زیبای خودش، به زیبایی از خاطرات و زمان روزای خوب زندگی حرف میزنه برام. لا فیومی عربی، یکی دیگه از آثار زیبا و تحسین بر انگیز میلر هریسه و فراتر از یه عطر، این کار از آشنایی ها و خاطراتی حرف میزنه که هر اندازه هم که تکرار بشن، باز هم زیبا و زیبا و زیباتر هستن! سدر با حالتی سبز، گیاهی و شاید در کنار رگه هایی از نوتهای سیتروسی که با رنگهای خاکی-اسپایسی نقاشی شده، روایتگر داستانی از آمیزش تابستانهای پر نشاط هست که با پرسه در بازار ادویه فروش ها، رودخونه و آب تنی در سایه ی جنگل پر میشد. حس دودی نرم و دلچسبی، این فضا رو شاعرانه تر و پیچیده تر کرده تا قسمت اول نمایش لا فیومی عربی، از ترکیب آروماتیک بی نظیری بگه که از گیشنیز، سدر، نوتهای گیاهی و سبز و مرکبات شکل گرفته و رو پس زمینه ی نرم و با عظمتی از دود به جریان افتاده. فضایی که از خاک و سایه میگه و از خاطرات و گذشته ها، شعر و نغمه سر میکنه! عود دارویی و کمی ترش، در این فضا می پیچه و اون حالت سبز، آروماتیک و خاکی-دودی رو به حس دارویی و کمی ترش خودش، پیوند میزنه. به مرور، لمسی از لابدانوم صمغی-فلورال، در فضا قدرت می گیره، حس آروماتیک و سبز، کم رنگ میشه و کلیت عطر، در فضایی صمغی، دارویی و کهربایی که دودی، خاکی-خاکستر گرفته و کمی ترش هست، رقم میخوره. دقیقا به خاطر نمیارم که کدوم روز و هفته از تابستونای سالهای دور بود، اما مطمئنم که تعداد بسیار زیادی از روزها و هفته های اون تابستونا، من بودم و شادی بی انتهایی که آمیزش اون فضاها، در لافیومی عربی زنده شد برام. لحظات بی مانندی که گذشته هامو پر کردن و کهنه های همیشه نو و بی مانند من هستن. لا فیومی عربی، عطری غلیظ، عمیق، چند لایه، ناب و متشخصه که آشناست، اما خاص و واقعیه. رایحه ای ویژه و نوستالژیک واسه یه روز زمستانی که وقتی همسفرم شد، یادم رفت که در ازدحام شهر، ساعتها قدم زدم و در تابستانهای دور، چندین کیلومتر پیاده روی کردم. مهم نیست، از اینجا و تا همیشه، سرد شده هوا، مهم اینه در جریان بی آغاز و انجام رودخانه ی زمان، ما هرگز از روزای واقعی زندگی دور نمیشیم و عطرهایی مثل لافیومی عربی، اثبات این ادعا هستن... کامنت: م.ع (سایت لوکس بایر (با امکان تست سمپل

HOT DOUGH AND SMOKE WITH SPICES [short review] This Arabic smoke, together with "Étui Noir", make a portentous Miller Harris duo. "La Fumée Arabie" opens with warm, woody, deep cistus seasoned with fleshy and deep cumin. I happen to love cumin both in my perfumes and in my cooking. Then smoked incense becomes prominent, unveiling a woody scent with hints of oud, some burnt rubber and some spicy smoky ash. The scent is sweetened by a touch of vanilla. The dry down is quite long, very smooth and seductive as hell. Performance is above average. The projection is reasonable. Some caution is needed with the trigger because not everyone enjoys company smelling too much of oud, incense and smoky ashes. I highlight this review a little by mentioning the aromas of hot dough and smoke with spices, this perfume always brings to my imagination the scent of a Christmas dried fruit cake slice, with whirls of cinnamon and cloves, and of course, with a woody and incense smoke coming from a fireplace. Perhaps only one slice of this Christmas cake is not the right amount. In short, it is a hot, sensual fragrance, and more masculine than a unisex perfume. But it is a season's greeting scent as well. After getting hooked on La Fumée, I was quite curious to see whether the added Arabie meant an improvement or not. The oud took it into a different direction and while there is still a recognisable smokey – incensey – woodiness, the outcome is more rounded, complex and gentle. La Fumée is quite assertive, masculine and direct, evocative, but a bit one dimensional. This one is more understated and less certain, softer and more complex. There is more spice and less burnt wood in it, and something fresh and a bit bracing avoids the usual sweet oud stereotype. The coriander and the vanilla come and go, rarely discernible. And towards the end the smoke dissipates, but the oud stays. Not really in the same way as in agarwood based Arabic perfume oils as the name would indicate, but much more ethereal and understated. I don’t think this is an Orientalist perfume. Reasonably good staying power and projection. Comfortably unisex. Something for the evening or late afternoon. The packaging, bottle and pricing indicate something expensive and exclusive. I was trying to ignore all that and decide only on the scent itself. In the end, I think it does come across as sophisticated, luxurious and very civilised.

I'm going to agree with Ivyswirl down below that if you have La Fumee Classic you may not need La Fumee Arabie. Very, very similar. I get the hit of cardamom and also Arabie is just a bit woodier. I get a hit of the oud that is listed in the notes, and maybe the birch. I'm sitting here with one on the back of each hand. I just picked up the La Fumee Arabie. I did read the reviewers but the price was so, so good. Why do I do this? But now having three MH perfumes, these and Ottoman I can sense the linear journey from Classic to Arabie to Ottoman which has amber and cumin showing up early in the show. Plus it's waaaay sweeter. However, let me add that during the time I write this there is a whole lot more developing on the Arabie hand than the Classic. Now I'm getting vanilla. It's beautiful. It's woodier and more dimensional that the Classic.....which I really like, don't get me wrong. No regrets. If you find any of these at a good price I don't believe that you'll be disappointed.

My new obsession. Miller Harris never disappoints. This is spicy and smoky and sweet and pungent but also really diaphanous. It’s strong but not at all heavy or opaque, which is a feat. In the opening, I get a passing resemblance to Shalimar. The dry down takes a woody turn, with cedar popping in and out. It’s really well balanced and well blended...everything works together so beautifully. It has a refined quality. This is not a raggedy, unwashed incense fragrance (no shade). This is an exquisitely crafted, high quality, heavenly incense cloud without any unintentionally rough edges. In other words, it smells really, really good.

Confession: the first time I sampled this I hated it. Several weeks later, on the day of winter solstice, I have changed my mind. Incense and a smoky labdanum are La Fumee Arabie's first impression. The oud is so well mixed in that I can't single it out, nor can I detect the rose or vanilla notes. This is not something I would ever consider wearing in warm weather. A unique scent in my collection. La Fumee Arabie is for the long dark days of winter hibernation, to be enjoyed by those close by. 8 out of 10 for me.

Just to state this again, this is VERY similar to La Fumee. I owned this first and loved it, then I got a stupid price on the original, so I ended up with both. While I do really like them, they both have a lovely smooth incense vibe, there isn't a great deal of difference between them, this just has a slight twist of rose added to it. If anything I slightly prefer this, but not really enough to justify buying both under normal circumstances.

This one is very heavy on the labdanum, no sticky notes att all its very soft and well blended. I dont really feel the incence more like a bonfire smoke and its very pleasant. Something fresh is coming and going and the vanlilla and oud in the drydown is just wounderful. Love for me and its unisex

This was a blind buy for me and I can't tell you how happy I am that paris4me suggested it. Absolutely gorgeous!! I was looking for something that smelled like the desert. The dry smokey spiciness of Arabie fit the bill perfectly. I'm already contemplating a back up bottle!!

A beautiful drier version of La Fumée Ottoman

Smells great! It's unisex and smells just like the original minus the elemi, or at least the elemi is very toned down in La Fumee Arabie. I smell well blended spices, incense, and a syrupy rose that softens and rounds the fragrance diverting it from the original. In the drydown Arabie is a lovely incense rose perfume. Not a safe blind buy at all. Sample this fragrance if you're into the middle eastern fragrance style. I'm glad to have a travel spray. -

This is what a man who wears a suit with a cowboy hat might smell like... he's rugged, but also moneyed. It's confident, and not as contemplative as other incenses. I get amber, spice and vanilla more than any wood. There is a light powderiness that just serves to make it pleasantly dry and clean.

I can’t comment on similarity to La Fumee, but after a couple of wearings, I figured out what this reminds me of: Shalimar EDP! Although marketed very differently, they share a distinctive incense-vanilla accord. Although La Fumee Arabie doesn’t list leather, it has a tarry, animalic note which gives a similar impression, perhaps created by the combination of birch and cumin. LFA is earthier, and missing the citrus brightness of Shalimar’s bergamot opening. It’s also less sweet. Although it’s a nice perfume, I find it flat and slightly sour when compared with the perfection of Shalimar. Lasting power is also not as good. I’ve already broken my New Years resolution to stop ‘blind buying’, and have a nearly-full 50ml bottle for sale in the UK. Please DM for details.

La Fumee with a twist... This is a really great incense fragrance. Like La Fumee before this, it is an labdanum and incense combination which is a winner. The fragrance itself is dry and full of depth. The cardamom and dry cedar, coriander and other "dry" ingredients really add to this composition. To put it this way, this perfume definitely has a "mood" about it. It is a concept perfume which is designed to transport you into a world. A world of candles and spices and woods and mystery. It is incredibly evocative. I do like it very much. Sadly, the downside to this one is that it does smell quite similar to the original La Fumee . Because of that, if this one costs more (reportedly) then I would have to suggest buying the original. The only discernible difference here is that (to me) it is more woody. There is a heavier emphasis here on the dryness of the woods than anything else. If you want the original with more of a dry, woody vibe, this is for you. However the original, with it's sweet, dry ambery incense balance is still the original benchmark, and a "classic" in it's own right. Still, this just goes to show, Miller Harris rarely does a bad perfume. Extremely high quality stuff here. Perfume as artistic expression.

Arabie takes the wood and spices of La Fumee and elaborates them into a sparkling, weightless, spicy labdanum amber perfume. It stays richer and airier all through it's life than the original La Fumee, beginning with a tapestry of cardamom, rose, cedar and spice, and a pretty hit of citrus from the coriander and incense to lift it all over a delicious smelling labdanum amber, and prismatically stays with that idea for a while. It ends with a rosy labdanum-vanilla-cedar (heavy on the dry cedar veering towards masculine) combo. The beginning is an amber fragrance, the end smells most like a woodier La Fumee. Maybe a little too woody and not as rich as the opening and heart. I don't get much oud. That said, if you love La Fumee you will like or even love this, my husband thought it smelled really good. Wears well on clothes.

Testing this and La Fumee side by side now and there's not a huge difference. I like both but in memory they are the same. On testing, at the minute the classic La Fumee seems drier, less sweet and less spiced. Arabic isn't strongly spiced but it has a hi t of cardamom and rose. I think it is worth testing both first before buying as you may not need a bottle of each, I previously had a bottle of Ottomane too and sold it as it just didn't seem different enough. Both are lovely and I do enjoy them though I rarely wear them, miller Harris is usually excellent quality.

came today along with l air de rien.i own the classic la fumee so i was a bit sceptical about the resemblence between the two.arabie is closer to my taste,i find it more rounded and elegant.at the same time its darker that the original but develops much better.the labdamum here does an outstanding job.i think its more femminine than unisex.very satisfied by the quality of this house.i d like to add that this will work on my skin in autumn/fall and the classic will fit excellent for spring/summer scent

Hoo-eee, this is something! It's very beautiful but very potent -- one small spritz at the base of my neck three hours ago is still going strong. Great spicy opening with lots of labdanum, then incense. Very smoky right after the opening and from then on, but really gorgeous smoke, not tarry. The drydown is still incense-smoky but vanilla is emerging from behind. This is lovely, though not my usual style, and I'm so glad I blind-bought it at, of all places, TJ Maxx.

A great drydown.... if you can stand the sweaty cumin that comes in after the first 5 minutes. Sweat scents are not my favorites. Thank god the drydown eventually comes.
