Lumière Dorée

If you are a fan of citrus fragrances, I wholeheartedly recommend that you try Lumiere Doree! It really is a celebration of the orange tree ❤️ The opening is stunning, pure, fresh, juicy, sharp citrus. This stage lasts for around an hour. As the jasmine, amber and vetiver gently mingle with the citruses, the fragrance slightly mellows, developing an almost effervescent quality and an ever so light sweetness, just enough to soften a little of the sharpness of the opening. All of the notes are perceivable but if they are not taken from the orange tree, they stay there firmly in the background. Three or four spays gives stong projection for the first three hours, moderate projection for another three, before fading to a skin scent that remains noticeable for a further two to three hours. I have the body care products for this one too, although I sometimes Iike to layer it with coconut and monoi products which add a slight tropical touch. I'm feeling tired or low Lumiere Doree is an instant pick-me-up. This is a scent anyone can wear, any season, for any situation or occasion. Sunshine and happiness in a bottle! ❤️👌

They couldn't have named it better, as this fragrance smells like a bright sparkling yellow and gold shard of light! It has a fabulous opening that wallops you round the nose with tart, wet citrus joy! It then settles and smooths out into a really creamy orange infused jasmine. I sprayed at 9am this morning and it is now 5pm and I am still enveloped by it. The silage and projection are really impactful on me (which is unusual as perfumes normally fade away really quickly) The amber compliments the jasmine and they both soften the wonderful combination of neroli, bitter orange and bergamot.This has been a suprisingly satisfying sample to try out and it's going on my list as summer contenders.

Beginning is a very bright citrus bitter neroli, much louder and more intense then average neroli colognes on market) Middle notes are bit musky chemical on my taste and remind me of Light Blue D&G. Thanks god they did not last longer then 15 min. Base is a still bright neroli, but get a bit dry herbal notes. Overall I'd say it's not something extraordinary or unique, just a bright pleasant spring/summer fragrance for neroli lovers.

Another fragrance which deserves a few wears to get used to it. As others have picked up on, a very pleasant neroli forward floral, which relaxes into a gentle laundry style musk. It's deceptively long lived - the initial citrus/floral notes fade over a few hours but the base notes stick around as a soft skin scent for a lot longer. Very likely to be office safe and a good daily wear.

I love this perfume! It is utterly captivating and as a woman who adores perfume and who is always striving to find a new fragrance which is not being sprayed by everyone this fragrance was a great choice. I have never had so many compliments and questions about a perfume until I discovered lLumière Dorée at Miller Harris Covent Garden -Beautiful.

I'm not a connoisseur by any means but this is the closest thing I've smelled to what the flowers of citrus trees smell like. An orange blossom hug. Edit: I tried layering it with JHAG Not A Perfume, very nice

Beautiful citrus / white floral composition. Very punchy but also delicate. One of the very few neroli-citrus scents that does not smell sour on me, and performs well. Quite simple but also memorable.

A fresh burst of what smelled like neroli to me, though probably the bitter orange backed by some petit grain. The opening is fresh, like pulling on a white linen shirt in Sicily and enjoying a refreshing mandarin granita for breakfast. Not long after a delicate orange blossom blooms, increasing in volume as the opening's freshness fades, this is accompanied by a very natural, very faintly indolic jasmine sambac and the duet of white flowers will sing off your skin for hours. This heart never gets heavy or overbearing and is perfectly balanced with the spirit of the opening. Towards the end of the life of this beauty, a light musk, not white, nor animalic, simply "fuzzy" starts to emerge and increases the longevity of this fragrance considerably. The transitions of this fragrance are remarkable, the attention to the blend also deserves some praise. Overall a wonderful offering from this house, which focuses on putting out some authentic creations.

Testing Lumière Dorée on skin in the Miller Harris shop I got a delightful, bright, lemony neroli and bergamot opening. I instantly thought of Italy and summer sunshine. The opening was stellar, like standing among real orange trees just as they're coming into bloom. The citruses eventually faded into a deep soft musk with gentle green support from petitgrain (and possibly violet leaf?) and jasmine and amber becoming more identifiable in the background. There was a mild trace of cashmeran's stickiness, something I'm sensitive to, but none of the dreaded chemical dirtiness it can have. Cashmeran doesn't work on my skin. Wearing Lumière Dorée a couple of days later at home the cashmeran felt much more prominent and immediately dirty/smoky. For me this perfume is much better and stays truer sprayed on clothing where it remains a beautiful orange tree and musk, in line with my initial impression.

I have more than a few Miller Harris scents, and when I bought one of their fragrances, I got a sample of this, since I'd never smelled it before. Right off, I reminded me of sunscreen. Not in a bad way, mind you, but nevertheless sunscreen. I tried to wear it, and I was not impressed. It was sitting in my closet with my other MH scents, and I decided to give it another try. First off: on me, it lasts all day and into the night, but then, most fragrances seem to anyway. I'm not one to recognize individual ingredients or notes, but at almost 10pm, I can still smell, what I guess, is the neroli. It's still impressive, and it no longer smells like sunscreen. It's by no means a favorite, but I will have to dig it out more often, now that, in my part of the country anyway, it's becoming warmer and warmer by the day.

As others have mentioned, Lumiere Doree has an absolutely stunning opening. I love fragrances that elicit an audible "wow" when I first spray them...this one did. It is the scent of golden light raining down through the canopy of a vibrant forest, creating a perfect moment of serenity and well-being. The drydown is less amazing, but still very good. It can be a bit of a letdown after the amazing opening, but it is still lovely, natural, and pristine. What starts out as an 8.5 ends at a 7.5, which is still a good rating on my scale. Impressive longevity. Good projection. A while floral that doesn't suffocate. Leans feminine.

I don't know if it's because I've had a couple of cognacs but my goodness - this perfume has one of the best openings I've smelt in a while - and it's all down to the petitgrain and bergamot. While the combination of citrus and white florals in itself isn't unique, the wet leafy freshness from the combination such an invigorating dimension to the perfume. Interestingly, it dries down similar to Dunhill icon - the same clean detergent vibe. Start with a love, end with a like. If it sustained the opening for longer I'd have bought it in a heartbeat. Still a great scent for warmer climes... 8/10

I love the first reach for neroli in the season. Warmer days whispering the promise of hotter ones to come, daring me to dream of holidays, of heat rising from old cobbled streets in ancient European towns outside which cypresses and olive trees thrive. Unisex, almost spicy, there are other nerolis I gravitate towards if I want to feel more feminine but this is evocative and interesting and I like it.

I was looking for an office friendly scent and I bought this one because I found it interesting and I like neroli. My colleagues complimented me a lot, the opening is wonderful and - incredibly - dries down very well on my skin. Good sillage, moderate duration, I really like it, could be my signature fragrance but for some reason I can't feel it "mine", so I didn't replace the bottle once finished.

This is a very strong white floral scent without any sweetness. Bitter, very bitter, and I must agree with the review below mine, I can sense neroli as well. I like how the reviewer before me associates this fragrance with Sicily, I haven't been there, but it seems well suited. This isn't just so pleasant, that I would like it from the first sniff, I think liking it must be learned with time.

Out of all the Miller Harris perfumes I have tested (tried 10-11 from the House) this is my favourite. It is fresh, citrussy and reminds me of a blend of Armani Code Turqoise and Christian Dior Escale a Portofino (one of my beloved favourite perfumes)

After my travel to Milan this spring time and noticing literally most Italians wear neroli I kind of got a bit obsessed with this multifaceted flower - it is sweet yet bitter and gives an air of effortless sophistication. Only for summer though.

Fresh and creamy white floral, lots of neroli and jasmine and a touch of citruses. Great for a spring day, would also be very office friendly. Unfortunately I found longevity to be a bit poor.

Smells wonderful and lasts for an hour. I loved the smell but the poor performance is a deal breaker, especially for the price. But if I found it at TJ Max I'd be so excited 7.5/10

My real opinion : it has a brighter mood than APOM.

Bravely took the plunge to try this after testing Eau de New York Bond No. 9 yesterday and despising it (headache inducing hate). It is very similar but this is a softer, calmer version. I've done a one spritz test on my hand while working through the Miller Harris sample box. It's ok. I don't hate it. Am I discovering that neroli is not my thing? The jasmine in this might win me over. I'm also bravely posting my first public review ... I'm still learning but have enough confidence to start sharing my thoughts.

Comes out with more of a bitter aspect than white florals or straight up citrus on my skin. Petitgrain is the most dominant note here, with the bitterness arising presumably from the bitter orange as there is no galbanum listed here. I am generally quite fond of Matthie Nardins creations but this one is not my very favourite - its kind of bitter and light, a campari classic. I think this one would need a truly warm day for me to appreciate it fully.

Started off gorgeous - a fresh, zingy unisex cologne-like fragrance with a classic combo of bright florals and citrus, with the delightful green aromatic from petitgrain. Unfortunately on the the dry down was a real dirty musk, the type of musk I tend to smell in Mancera and Montale fragrances. I’ve become averse to this version of musk and as soon as I smell it, instantly not a fan.

I think this is objectively a nice perfume, but it’s just not my thing. It’s a citrusy, green petitgrain - big on the jasmine, bitter orange and neroli to start and then it settles. Gold light is a great name for it - it feels very sunny and golden floral. Just not for me though...

The fragrance starts off heavy on the white floral, especially the jasmine and then progresses into a citrus scent with hints of neroli. Not much projection and lasts about an hour.

Super sharp at the opening. Alot of bitter orange and neroli. But after that, I'm bored. It fades so quickly even with 6 sprays.

I’ve been wanting to try some more Néroli / petitgrain dominant fragrances and bought this blind because BV’s Knot is my favourite, go-to scent. Unfortunately it’s not my cup of tea - it’s too bitter for my tastes. For those who like their Neroli on the bitter side, the good news is it lasts a long time, with moderate sillage. It’s fresh & strong, and the bitter orange / Neroli pack a punch on the opening. I can’t detect the jasmine with my novice nose but do get the musk and amber as it develops (and a tad of musk in the opening too).

From the first spray on the skin - strong laundry detergent or strong fabric conditioner.

Just arrived, another nice citrus fruit that intrigued me a lot since it was associated with Diptyque's eau des sens, absolutely not! For me the only thing they have in common is DNA or olfactory family... call it what we want. It's very pleasant and I won't argue, I unconditionally love all hesperides in general, but it has a slightly amber undertone which I honestly don't feel in EDS, in fact what makes me love Diptyque Eds so much is precisely its transparent, green, citrusy soul / citrus without various contaminations, here however as soon as I spray it I like it very much you can smell the petit grain, the neroli, I can also smell the jasmine interfacing slightly, but shortly after the top notes have vanished I can already feel an amber imprint which unfortunately I can smell more and more in the latest generation compositions, and which I must say made me quite tired! Doing the math I don't disdain it because fortunately the base (which I can already smell after the first few minutes) is not disturbing like many perfumes have, as previously mentioned, and that is with iso and super, woody, etc. etc. here, it is light and I tolerate it, but it has nothing to do with the beautiful and for me inimitable Eau Des Sens by Diptyque! He remains the best ever for me. As usually happens when talking about a perfume there is a positive revaluation in my case: I like it more than I would have imagined, I find it cheerful, sunny, almost like my beloved Eau des sens, it makes me feel good and this is not implicit when talking about perfumes ❤️

Miller Harris does clean fresh white (orange blossom) laundry musk. i can't smell the jasmine at all, for all the squeaky clean (a bit sharp to my nose) musk. but i did get a beautiful neroli and petit grain opening. if you love Pure Poison and Burberry London, you will love this. but if you have them, you might not need it. Miller Harris has always impressed me with it's slightly off beat, original and natural smelling perfumes. but recently, the ones i have tested have simply been variations on a theme that has already been done before. And in my opinion, they haven't necessarily upped the ante on these themes, leaving me a little disappointed. but i still do i love this house. now i am worried that La Fumee i am about to test is going to smell just like (but not quite as good as) a Serge. what has happened? am a bit sad tonight, but i will get over myself. i still have my Miller Harris old favourites. i know that profit comes from producing a known "type" that will sell, but what i saw as an artistic interpretation beforehand, seems to have turned into some pretty similar renditions of existing and perhaps popular perfumes from other houses. i know this is the way of the world, but it still saddens me. Or, maybe we have reached perfume formulas saturation point in the perfume world. there are a zillion perfumes out there after all. on the plus side, if you only want Miller Harris in your life, there is everything a scent wardrobe would require.

Citric, white floral, laundry/white musk. I typically am a bit picky with what I call "industrial clean" musks. This one balances it with a sort of bitter neroli and I am surprised that I enjoy it. Perfect for the office or as a gift for anyone who likes to smell good but doesn't really care about perfume. Lasts on my skin all the way through my 8 hour work day as a very close skin scent (basically no projection after the first 30 mins.) I think this would be a perfect scent to take "camping" or any situation where you know you'll just NEED to smell clean at some point (even if you can't BE clean, lol) or as an after the gym scent or something.

Oh I really love this. I don't think I can improve on Kouros94's review, but I'll give it a go because I think this deserves more attention than it seems to be getting. On me there is no bitterness, but a grown-up, austere lemon growing into the sun through a tangle of jasmine. It is elegant and, yes, as bright as the name suggests, yet with no hint of stridency. It really does sing. I find it simpler than many Miller Harris scents; that it travels less far in terms of mid and base notes. But when the top note is so beautiful, so calm and yet so sumptuous, who needs it to go anywhere?

Lumiere Doree by Miller Harris 4/5 First impression is lovely neroli and pettigrain. It is a similar profile to Love Don't Be Shy by Killian but without the sweetness and strength. It has a large silage for thirty minutes then becomes a skin scent for about three hours. Don't get any of the orange note. Clean and beautiful. If I didn't already have Tomboy Neroli, I would consider purchasing. Lumiere Doree Neroli, Bergamot, Petigrain Purchased six samples from Miller Harris and working my way through reviewing them. Wore at home. Would purchase a decant but not a full bottle.

This smells exactly like laundry powder to me, I'm sampling and wearing it to work today as I need something non intrusive, no dreamy connotations to distract me from the job and also just clean. Bitter orange, jasmine and musk, I can smell them all but I can't stop thinking laundry powder. Clean, clean, clean, that's what this is, like standing in a lift with someone wearing a freshly laundered shirt and leaning in a tiny bit to get another whiff just to be sure of what you're smelling.

This was highly disappointing to me. It would have been nice if the bergamot was left out as it makes the fragrance too sour, citric, and astringent. Bitter orange by itself is very pleasant and green. The orange blossom is cloying and drowns out the pleasant aspect of the cashmere. Mandarino di Sicilia by Perris Monte Carlo is hands down the best green orange fragrance that has never been beat.

This is a beautiful spicy citrus petitgrain, with white floral notes. Uplifting and bright! like a beautiful sunny day. Imagine 4711 with more substance and a tad more feminine and floral. This is lovely, I just have a sample but I would like to have a bottle in the future.

*Love* this neroli. At the beginning, it's kind of annoyingly in-your-face clean and bright and intense. Then it calms and softens and deepens with jasmine muskiness and rich amber.

The opening smells EXACTLY like hot, clean clothes taken straight from the dryer. Extremely inoffensive. This should be the only scent permitted on aircraft and public transport.

I have great respect to Miller Harris but this one reminds me of a naphthalene, unfortunately.

Expensive hotel hand wash. Very citrusy and fresh. I can imagine wearing this on vacation.
