Wander Through The Parks

Not groundbreaking necessarily, but nice. Despite being much lighter, this somehow reminds me of my beloved Issey Eau Bleue, if only because both have a kind of bluish-green springtime freshness that I find quite compelling. I think that in this fragrance a lot of the bluish side must be down to the watery aspect of the violet leaf. Not entirely linear. There is some complexity, depth, fullness, and texture here, but most obviously this is fruity green. I get the sense of bitter greenery but I also get a lot of most if not all of the fruits listed, most notably the fig, plus a kind of cosiness from the musk and cashmeran, and the airiness of that violet leaf. There may even be a hint of fruity bubblegum from the tuberose and citrus. It surprises me that some people find this unwearably green and gnarly. I don't think there's anything at all rough or unpleasant about it. Performance is perfectly adequate for the genre, too.

I’d been sitting on a sample of this for awhile, but with the hot summer days we’re currently experiencing I decided to give it a try. I’m really enjoying this, much more than I expected! I even went and ordered a small bottle of this from Miller Harris’ summer sale after wearing it today. It’s crisp, it’s green, it’s slightly sweet fruity. It all blends together so nicely. The only notes I can for sure pick up on are galbanum and fig, though admittedly I’m not sure what nettle is supposed to smell like. This is an enjoyable and refreshing summer scent and I’m here for it!

Green bomb, nettle and fig combine to give that proper tomato plant fragrance that's great for summer. The citrus throughout helps tone it down a little, think wanderlust or the dyptique that I can't think of the right name of at the moment. But ever so slightly toned down and softened. I bought this for way way under the retail from a discounter when I was discontinued, I don't think I'd be as pleased if I'd paid full price for it.

I actually think this might be the perfect wild green scent I’ve been on the hunt for. It’s green without being grassy, well-rounded and -blended without coming across as ‘perfumey’, it’s tangy without being dominated by citrus, and it feels like the scent of a wild secluded corner that you’ve stumbled on in an urban park. I’ve decided nettle should be in everything now. This is great.

This fragrance makes me so happy. It is crisp, bright green with delightful dewy grapefruit and black currant nuances. It evokes joyful memories that don't exist, but come into being because of this scent. Obviously, not the reaction all people can expect to have, but I would recommend it for anyone who loves a bright, well-done green scent with a lot of character.

This is so beautiful! I was looking for a proper green perfume, and this is just perfect. Very herbaceous, leafy and green. Literally like walking through the park, and smelling all greenery around. I love Miller Harris natural smelling perfumes. Nettle, fig, galbanum and patchouli are the most prominent notes. Decent lasting power. I absolutely love it.

I bought a sample of this from the website, and I enjoyed it so much that I bought a discounted 50mL bottle. It starts out kind of bitter, but it softens quickly. It's definitely green, but there's a soft floral that lingers. I can see how one reviewer likened WTTP to laundry detergent/softener. I find myself smelling my wrists throughout the day.

Absolutely gorgeous, and citrus notes notwithstanding, exactly the smell of a London park full of grass, flowers and nettles. Takes you straight outdoors! My husband says it is addictive and cannot stop sniffing his wrist.

I just love this perfume, it surprises me every time I wear it. It's long lasting too, and until I got it I never smelled anything like it. Fresh, intimate, sweet, tantalizing. Green is the right colour for it for sure.

The best "cut grass" perfume ever made. This is how I picture how grass smells in heaven.

I wore this today. And to answer the question posed below -- nettle smells a bit like unseasoned artichoke tastes. Green, and slightly bitter, but with savoury undertone. A bit more grassy and minty than artichoke - apparently when you cook nettles they can have a fishy smell/flavour, but there's none of that here exactly. It's a mild savouriness. Unseasoned cooked artichoke is the closest I can get, but it's not quite that. If you're curious and/or want to train up your nose on nettle, you can buy nettle tea for cheap at the supermarket and take a whiff of the teabags. They are very nettle-y! In any case -- Nettle is the dominant note here, whether real or fabricated. I smell lots of fresh grapefruit and mandarin as well, and the green of the nettle is emphasised by the grassiness of the galbanum. I get a little bit of tuberose in the background but no blackcurrant. Maybe that's just my skin chemistry but this is a very green and citrussy scent to start with very little sweet. The green nettle scent persists throughout, although when the citrus calms, it is joined by fig fruit (which is only a little sweet), and tempered by white woods and a large dose of cosy musk, with just the slightest touch of patchouli for earthiness. It's an outdoor, parks and gardens scent, so is aptly named. It's not my favourite of the range so far (my heart belongs to Found At Dusk, which is a true blackcurrant scent), but it is lovely. I'm wearing this in the wrong season as I think it's more a spring/summer scent, but I'll be bringing it out again then.

First of all, the scent itself: on opening, the nettle is strong. I found on paper the violet was dominant but on my skin it’s 100% green nettles with violet somewhere far, far in the distance, only seen as a pinprick on the horizon. The nettle fades as it dries down and the violet comes out to play a little closer. It’s green, fresh and not-bitter (it’s not sweet, but still opposite to bitter). Towards the end, the notes are indistinguishable, just a highly sweetened musk with an undertone of something masculine. On to the performance: this is the second Miller Harris I’ve sampled, the first being Found At Dusk which I loved. Both have poor performance, with Wander Through The Parks being the very slightest bit longer lasting, but throughout that time it’s so weak I had to press my nose to my wrist to smell it (this was within about 2 hours). If you want this for a quick little errand run or even a first date, you’ll get a few hours with okay projection, but after that it is a very weak skin scent. A shame, since it’s such a lovely green, all year/all day scent, but I think this is common with all Miller Harris scents based on reviews for their other perfumes.

Wow, there’s a lot of controversy in these reviews over what exactly nettle smells like. I have to admit to having no idea about that, but nettle makes me think of something sharply green and prickly and a little harsh. There’s a big pop of that quality in the top notes of this perfume, whether it’s the galbanum or galbanum plus the mysterious nettles. Anyway, it works so well in this composition. That bitterness is the perfect foil to the juicier, fruitier notes of berries, figs and currants. While I’m in this top stage of the perfume I’m in love with it. That love isn’t diminished too much by the fact that within an hour this dries down into a more generic type of green fragrance. Sweetish, slightly floral, and cool. Wander through the Parks goes from remarkable to pleasant, and is a solid like for me. It lasts about 8 hours on the skin.

I'm probably not going to add anything that any of the positive comments haven't already said. For the first couple of hours it is a gorgeous soft green warm summer fragrance. Not sharp, bitter and airy like so many niche green perfumes are, because of the addition of the red berries, fig and tuberose. I love it. However, the problem lies in the fact that it has no sillage or longevity. It simply vanishes after an hour or two. If it was half the price I would buy it and liberally apply it throughout the day as it is a wonderfully balanced summer scent.

Opens with a soft, matcha-like whisper, a gentle blend of grassy freshness and subtle fruity notes. Yet, as the scent unfolds, it lacks the intrigue required to hold attention, settling into a space that feels too familiar, too safe. On skin it's almost reminiscent of Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea. Easy to wear, yes, but so unremarkably restrained that it’s hard to imagine reaching for it again. Fleeting wind through a park's cafe, sweetly green in the moment but never lingers around.

I got Found at Dusk and i was really intrigued by it. It wasn't my biggest love but i couldn't stop spraying it and smelling it. It is so interesting to me. Now it is a love. So i wanted to get this one but it was hard to find until my trip to London where it was discounted. This isn't as intriguing as Found at Dusk but it is very natural smelling just like that one. It's also more unisex making it easier to wear for me. I'm glad i got 2 of this line.

blind bought this with not so high expectations, but i actually kinda like this! nettle is very dominant, fruitiness is noticeable, i see some people are unaware of how nettle smells...? nettle is a type of grass, yes, but it does NOT smell like literal grass, it's very fresh and a lil spicy, kinda like cassis (at least to me). very iconic of miller harris, a british fragrance brand, to release this as it is spring in england in a bottle.

A cheerful fragrance, fruity and youthful - especially noticable are the grapefruit and mandarin orange. I cook some dishes with spring nettles and sometimes drink nettle tea and am not getting much of the nettle note in this scent. The jolliness of this perfume evokes the experience of a brisk stroll out of the doldrums into sunny London streets past lots of people grabbing a late afternoon pint in the sun.
